Several new gangs have been able to sweep in and make their mark on Stilwater. As leader of the Saints, you'll have to do whatever it takes to protect the members of your gang from new enemies, including the Ultor Corporation and rival gangs.

Annoying they never followed up on this plot thread, Dex should have been the main antagonist of Saints Row 3.
And I don't count Gat out of Hell as the handling of Dex in that sucks.
Fun fact: I heard somewhere that Saints Row 3 was gonna be a regular crime game with something to do with an FBI agent. I don't remember the details, but oh what could've been. And I don't wanna get started on Gat Out of Hell. Hell is like Disneyland, Old Stilwater is far scarier, and that's just wrong. Old Stilwater is haunted too.

Based on that plot, I actually took notes on a fan fiction I'd like to write based around a Vice cop who infiltrates the gang, though has a change of heart when he gets close to a few members. I just love the concept of that story. I know it's been there, done that with Troy, but you know there has to be other cops who want them gone too. The direction they took was ehh.
Dex is killed in a cancelled spin off for download cancelled Saints Row Moneyshot, a Xbox 360 build was leaked years ago. It seems that the spin off still canon though.

In TT he became softer and caring for his gang than treating them awful in 2nd game.
Nice one mate! Even if it's short, this was a good DLC :) Just a shame the ending was never concluded with a sequel. I like SR3 but they really should have tied up loose ends with Dex first.
Flex the Dex hahahaha...am I right; honestly though, did the Sony PS3 version of Saints Row II not receive this narrative...unlike the Microsoft Xbox 360 (I certainly don't remember any of this, not at all and I have played through Saints Row II missions/story before or at the very least watched others on TH-cam attempt to complete the main story arc/thread --- I mostly drive around Stillwater and or complete side missions/work) !?

"Corporate meltdown" is the hardest mission in all of Saints row. But it would be an average mission in GTA.

Thank you so much for making this video. I was stuck at the tornado part with the 2nd truck and didn't even realize that there was a 3rd. I'm actually kind of disappointed with how small the DLC is. It's like, yay, 3 missions, what's the point.

Gave up on the second mission cuz I got tired of this game's stingy checkpoint system.
Also don't care about this dlc knowing the Dex storyline never gets resolved, all this does is set up a saints and ultor alliance.

Jokes aside, this was the point the series decided "Fuck this, we're getting crazy up in here!" 😂 Everything that Saints Row The Third is shouldn't really surprise anyone, but this game had the element of doing serious and silly brilliantly.
@KoolBannanaFace Not true about The Boss. They do care, but as Pierce says, "You're always pissed off", so I think they're more focused on revenge against the Syndicate... you know, a "kill now, cry later" sort of thing. Their determination to bring them down is unmatched. As for Carlos... I don't think anything could be done for him. His life would be agony if he lived, so it was a mercy kill. Then in Saints Row IV, you can tell Johnny via the romance option that you, The Boss, was never all that happy in the years between then and the third game.
I actually don't mind the craziness, but a build-up would've been nice. Instead, they go right on in to over-the-top, even though there were elements that were there since the beginning. The real issue is they didn't want to be called a GTA clone, so they worked at being their own thing. But they always were, like every game of this class. The only reason other games feel similar is because of the familiarity -- the huge impact GTA leaves on most players. But it does feel like burnout of ideas, but I'm here to say there's plenty of ideas left for several games. I think the third game should be left as is, but serious work should be done with everything after that. It's crazy how actual hell in Gat Out of Hell is Disneyland, and Old Stilwater is scarier than it.
I think the best part was watching the ninjas fight each other.
