I miss when the activities had back stories to them. It made you feel like there was a point to them, in the third and IV, they're kind of just there, and they're more annoying than anything else really.
SR1’s atmosphere was intoxicating, it is easily the most “complete” and polished game in the series. Instead of being the main focus of the city, you are just a simple gunman in the criminal underworld of Stilwater, which made it feel very populated, like you weren’t the only person hustling.
Commits crimes for people all over Stilwater, doesn’t say a word to them. But when a person lies about current fashion tends, that’s when he decides to talk.
These scenes were definitely the best in the first game. Big variety of characters, sensible comedy, memorable personalities, and even some decent representation all around
Kinda wished Saints row 2 kept cutscenes for activities like hitman and chop shop, gave them their own bit of personality instead of only having phone calls

It’s criminal how many people didn’t play this game and herald SR2 as the holy grail. For me this game will always my favourite in the franchise for the writing the characters, gangs, music and setting. It knew exactly what it was and did it to perfection. Didn’t need all the crazy added gadgets and missions it’s story and side activities were strong enough. Still enjoy it to this day 14 years from day one ☝️

The problem that I have with these cutscenes is that in Saints Row 2, Boss doesn’t walk around or be active while talking with the person who’s offering them an activity they could do. He (or she) just stands there running his (or her) mouth with the other person. Other than that, though… I’m fine with the rest of the game. :3

I like the newer games more than the older ones, but one thing I can appreciate about the older games is that these cutscenes actually added context as to why the activities actually made sense.
Thanks! I just went back and replayed this game via BC on my Xbox One (i'm playing SR2 now) but i had a lot of glitches, especially with the weapons cache not working properly. Anyways i had forgotten that the game doesn't keep track of what activities you actually complete like how SR2 does so i probably visited the same ones 10 times only to find out that i had completed them already, haha!

So many evil people in Stillwater lol the player is fucked too they are less evil but can be pretty bad, one of the things that makes this franchise unique is the fact your gang is called the saints but they all do devilish stuff, kinda ironic and an oxymoron but at the end of the day they are basically antiheroes, the people of Stillwater and Steelport are the evil people and the antagonists obviously are too i cant really think of a true hero in this franchise its kinda like a Quentin Tarantino movie
