- Carnival Cruise Line's Mardi Gras coming to Port Canaveral in 2020, will be a real game-changer not just of Carnival, but the entire cruise industry as well. I've just booked Carnival Mardi Gras Spa suite for Nov 2021. I've never stayed in a suite (this is a treat). The listing describes pillow top mattresses for suites. In your experience are the beds more comfortable and softer in suites vs. regular balcony staterooms? What would vip check in mean? Any info/advice would be great. Thank you 😊
Hi Gina, thanks for watching. Having stayed in all types of accommodations, generally the bedding is the same is all. With few exceptions, I've found beds on most ships to be quite comfortable. VIP check gives you a priority line during the check-in process as well as being one of the first to board the ship. Not sure how this will be handled post covid 19.

There were no renderings of these rooms made available, but hopefully once we complete our full tour from our time onboard in a few weeks, there will be images of at lease some accessible rooms that we can include. Very nice video, thanx. It seems on every video I watch they never show the Premium Extended Aft Balcony. I want to see what it looks like inside and out. I have seen the floor plan, but that's it. I imagine it's similar or identical to the Extended Forward Balcony....just a different location. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thx!
Hi Shelz Shel, thanks for watching. Which ship are you referring to? On Mardi Gras there is the Aft-View Extended Balcony, Forward-View Extended Balcony and Extended Balcony.

Looking for some opinions... would you rather book in a Havanah Suite or Spa Suite? I like the perks of having an exclusive pool area in the Havanah, but that option is much more expensive. Normally we don't get suites (we are just balcony people), but we have a nice credit from a past cruise that was cancelled so we decided to splurge and get a suite next time. Also, what exactly are the thermal suites in the spa? Was that a pool that I saw in the spa? So what would you pick: Havanah suite or spa suite? What are the pros and cons of each? Thanks!
Hi Penelope, thanks for watching. I’m assuming you are talking about Mardi Gras. Hard to compare those two options as they are quite different. Even though the Havana pool area on Mardi Gras is not as nice those of Vista class ships (location and size), I’d probably go for the Havana Suite. You can always purchase the cruise long thermal suite pass. Thermal suite has the therapy pool, sensory showers, sauna and steam rooms. Another option, maybe look at the Havana Cabana instead, same perks but smaller room and typically less expensive. Hopes this helps.

Hi Danni, thanks for watching. From the renderings, the hammock chairs are shown for Havana Cabana Suites (HS) and Cabana Corner Suites (HU). The descriptions seem to match that assumption as well.

Hi TeamTurner, thanks for watching. I've always liked rooms with forward views. The one main thing to possibly be concerned with is the ship's movement. You will feel even the slightest pitch of the ship since you are essentially right over the bow. Don't think there is much concern to people looking into your balcony.

i would say if ur on at least deck 15 there shouldnt be anyone looking down on u - we had a forward balcony and i chose that deck for just that reason - have switched us to an ocean suite which is on the side so hopefully wont have that issue there either
actually we prefer aft extended balconies but just switched us from a forward facing balcony to an ocean suite. curious to see how much different it will be

@@TalkingCruise yes i think so too. kind of disappointed at how narrow a lot of the cabins seem to be but as a lot of people say i doubt we will be in there very often!
@@TalkingCruise as it turns out I had switched out date and went with a forward corner suite, and have actually since managed to snag an aft corner suite - definitely looking forward to it!
I will book a presidential suite but can we go to the spa because you saycwe can go to loft 19 i dont know?
Hi Christian, thanks for watching. The Presidential Suite is the only Excel level suite that can access Loft 19, Thermal Suites and Havana Pool area.

Hi Christian, yes Mardi Gras and her sister Carnival Celebration have the Excel Presidential Suites. Keep in mind there are only two of these suites located forward (port and starboard) on Deck 17, and as such, they are not easy to find available on most sailings.
Do any of the rooms on this ship have a bath tub? It does not look like there are, but trying to verify.
Hi Colleen, thanks for watching. Unlike other recent ship classes, Carnival has done away with tubs in their Junior Suites. The only accommodations to have tubs on Mardi Gras are Family Harbor Suites, all others have much larger walk-in showers.

Hi Sharon, thanks for watching. Mardi will home port from Port Canaveral until at least through April 2022. There is another, yet to be named and built identical ship to Mardi Gras, coming to Miami starting in 2022 as well.

Hi Bobby's Kitchen, thanks foe watching. Nope, that is a major difference with the suites on these Excel class ships. The bathrooms are nice and modern looking, but considerably smaller than other previous ship classes in the fleet.

The bigest Cruise ship
Hi Antara, thanks for watching. Mardi Gras will be the biggest for Carnvial, but not the biggest in the world. The current biggest cruise ship is Symphony of the Seas with sister Wonder of the Seas ready to take that spot when she launches.
I'M JUST DISAPPOINTED THAT THE NY 15 DAY EXOTIC TRIP WON'T BE EXTENDED TO 2021; INSTEAD OF JUST FOR ONE TRIP IN 2020! BUT DON'T CRY TOOO LONG FOR US...WE'RE (MY CHURCH GROUP) GOING ON A SEVEN DAY TRIP FROM FL AND WE CAN'T WAIT!! I'LL BE THE FIRST ONE ON THE ROLLERCOASTER (NORMALLY CLIENTS, COME FIRST, BUT NOT WHEN IT COMES TO ROLLERCOASTER'S! LOL).. THERE'S SO MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM AND DO ON THIS SHIP AND THE CABINS ARE SOOOOO...I JUST MIGHT GET A SUITE INSTEAD OF A BALCONY CABIN.
Hi Andrea, thanks for watching. The Mardi Gras will be sailing the limited cruises from NYC in 2020 before she arrives at her new homeport of Port Canaveral. Carnival just announced a second Excel class ship, sister to Mardi Gras will be headed to Miami in 2022, so perhaps more cruises from New York are in store.

I know they have revamped at least one of the rollercoasters (the big wooden one that used to be called Mean Streak) and added a few more since I was last there. The Raptor is my favorite - it would be worth it to plan a trip - they have hotels, cottages and cabins right there within walking distance outside the park and even a spot for RVs - I love it

Hi Deirdra, thanks for watching. Mardi Gras will not have a grand suite category. The ship will only have Ocean Suites, Family Harbor Ocean View Suites, Cloud 9 Spa Suites, Havana Cabana Suites and the all new Excel Suites.

Hi Anna, thanks for watching. I know, Mardi Gras will be the first Carnival ship to have "glass" shower enclosures all around the ship. I was surprised to see shower curtains in my room on Sky Princess last month as well.
so, calling what was a balcony cabin on a conquest class as a suite is just putting lipstick on the pig. It is still a pig. Overall, outside of the presidential suites, not impressed at all with the cabins. You actually get nicer suites on the Conquest class.
Hi HJ S, thanks for watching. The design and decor is much better than any other Carnival ships, but I have to agree, the non Excel suites are smaller than other ships and really more like larger balcony rooms.
