    A++ review! We just upgraded to a floor 15 balcony for our April cruise and are so excited! We bumped this cruise twice due to covid and are finally getting to try a balcony! Ty for the great video!

    Scheduled on the Mardi Gras Oct 2025 on a Journey cruise. We have a standard balcony on the 14th floor also, cannot wait to get on this vacation. Usually go every other year on a cruise, but Covid cancelled us twice, so, we are ready and excited!!! Thank you for the video!

    We went cruising on the Mardi Gras during Halloween. Everything was amazing!! Our balcony state room was smaller than other ships but was still very comfortable and has lots of storage, they didn’t waste any space. I think my only complaint was the dining room. The tables looked cheap to me, like those foldable tables. But, the food was amazing!

    Loved your review! We will be sailing out on the Mardi Gras in May 2023 and were are so excited! We used to just stay in the regular ocean view rooms but this last month we cruised out on the Carnival Magic in a balcony room and I was officially SPOILED!! Only down fall was that darn shower curtain causing the bathroom floor to flood when the boat was rocking. Glad to know we won't have to worry about that on the Mardi Gras!!

    We were on it back in Sept., 11th of 2021, and going again for a back to back pretty soon. We were in cabin 10295 on the last trip on Mardi Gras and were totally blown away by our balcony. It was at least 3 times larger than any other Carnival ship we have sailed on. I guess it was an upgrade and we loved it. It was recessed from some of the other balconies and we saw that you actually have to check the deck plans to make sure where your room is. Some of the balconies look right at all the other ones and vice versa. But we had an ideal location. And the food was possibly the best of the fleet. Love Mardi Gras.

    I am planning my 1st trip on the Carnival Mardi Gras for this September and you are the 2nd video about the ship that I've heard the comment of the state room feeling smaller so I pose you this question according to the specs this is the widest ship Carnival has ever made, is it possible that the room is longer and not wider but when you stretch a space out it gives you the illusion of being narrower even though it is overall larger? Because by your video alone the desk that holds the extra outlets you are so happy about looks longer than the desks on both Dream and Vista class ships I have been on. I guess the easiest way to say it is if you stare down 2 different hallways one 6 feet wide and 10 feet long the other 6 feet wide and 25 feet long I guarantee you the longer hallway will seem narrower to you. I also wonder if maybe the bed is a little longer because I'm also 6' 2" and it always feels like I just barely fit on their beds lol and I always travel on a standard balcony room. Anyway... great video 👍

    We just got out of the Mardi Gras a couple of weeks ago. We found a few flaws. Door did not open all the way. Bathroom configuration was weird with the position of TP and soft tissue (should be backwards) the bed was to close to the wall and we will hit the wall every time. hard to put things in closet to people at the time. side tables are cheap looking and do not go high enough to be functional Other than that we found the decor to be very nice and the balcony a nice place to relax. you can check our vlogs if you want. Great video.

    We just booked 3 Balcony cabins for 2023 and they are side by side on Deck 15. We can't get joining cabins as they are all sold out right now. Are you able to remove the barrier between cabin balconies? Or is there a joining door between balconies that you are aware of?

      I think the barriers can be removed or swung out of the way, but I am not certain of this.

    We are cruising January 2023 on Mardi Gras stateroom 14483. I noticed on other videos which were also standard balcony rooms, the bed and sofa were reversed. Do you know how to find that out? Or why they did this? I can understand why you would constantly hit your shin with this configuration.

    First civilian cruise coming up 9/23 (did over a 1 1/2 years underway in the Navy) The biggest difference I've noticed watching these video is SPACE! Living aboard a Navy combat ship is cramped to say the least! Mardi Gras is HUGE with massive amounts of open space. Two things I want to do on the ship (being retired Navy) is view the bridge and the engineering spaces. I do not know if it allowed, but I hope so!

    You bring up Princess, but are you comparing new with new? That’s not a fair comparison otherwise, because Carnival definitely has a ton of ships that don’t have four USB ports at the desk. At any rate, Carnival has issues with their ships always catching on fire, breaking down, or colliding with each other. Unless you’re going on the three newest ships, I’d avoid Carnival.

    • @CruiseReport
      @CruiseReport  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was comparing to Majestic Princess which is a relatively new ship. I am not sure it is fair to say they Carnival has issues with ships breaking down, catching fire, etc. They have more ships in their fleet, which increases the odds that if something does happen, it could happen to one of their ships. We tend to avoid older ships, regardless of the cruise line.
