I just spent last week in 9327. I was so worried after watching this video because I'm an extremely light sleeper and I go to bed early...like before 9. I never heard a sound in this room! I'd pick it again every time!
Something to note about cabins above and below the theater. Don’t think just because shows are at night that you’re scotch free in the afternoons/early evening. You have other events in the theater (bingo, presentations, etc) and also they rehearse in the afternoon as well.
I'd like to add something I heard from other longtime travelers: the fitness center. Naturally, you don't want the room next to it but even the second room after that is surprisingly loud too. You will still hear the clack-clack of the weights or feel the floor thump when people are jumping up and down. Try staying at least 4-5 rooms away from it. Oh, and don't get the last room in the hallway. That door facing you is usually the crew access so it's going to be very very busy and you'll be bumping into staff a lot if you go to your room even at night. Remember, a cruise ship never sleeps.
I stayed in 10377 and I have to say the main issue with that room was the smell of the cigarette smoke from the deck of the Havana lanai. The entire extension of the Havana lanai on the starboard side is smoking section and the smoke went up to our room. We were one room over to where the extension ended and the smoke on port days came right up and so we never used our balcony. We would go outside in the morning on sea days and then when a lot of people were outside, we weren’t able to be there cause it was just too much. So make sure you stay clear of that side!
It is very helpful from your recommedation/ review since I am about to book room on the Mard Grad (1st time). Thank you so much for your great work and research!
We always book near the stairs and elevators, usually 1 deck below the lido deck and never have had any issues, also makes for quick access to the lido.
We were deck 5 middle of ship by elevators & never heard any people or music noise & nothing from the atrium above either. This was also during Spring Break with a sold out ship. I didn't drink and never heard anything. Except the horrible creaking the ship structure makes walking down level 5 hall & in my room. I've never heard that on any other ship I've sailed on. It was very scary. I was Not impressed with the Decor Design in the dining rooms it felt like being in the 80's eating at Ponderosa (Cheap Buffet restaurant) they definitely didn't go all out with Decor throughout the ship not fancy at all the Theatre is tiny along with the other rooms they do shows in. You can never see a show because there isn't enough room for the 6,000 people it holds. Couldn't do my hair all week their plugs didn't work took them 2 days before they even came to look at it they tried to blame my curling iron until I pointed out that Carnivals hair dryer would Not work either. Carnival double & triple overvooked booked Spa appts so I had to reschedule mine even though I prepaid for it 11 weeks beforehand. Then they charged me again for it which they later refunded. Their wifi plan was extremely Spotty didn't work well. Don't buy their chat plan. Using Facebook messenger is free. I won 6,000.00 in Casino slots & while waiting 30 minutes for the Casino manager my machine went to an error message so they never paid me my winnings. Don't gamble in their Casino. I won't ever go on a Carnival cruise again they did nothing to rectify anything for 7 day cruise that we spent 5,000.00 on
I'm deck 5 right under the comedy club for Sep 3rd coming up. It was kinda lame to learn the life boats would be dangling above my balcony but the comedy club won't bother me. I would be 13-14 drinks into my package for the day and I'll just pass out thru it all LMAO!
Thanks for the info, I was on deck 5, 5366 - in your highlighted area, I heard a huge amount of noise each day/ and from 6 to 10:30 each night mostly coming from deck 4 "Camp Ocean" it was very loud, lots of screaming, mic'ed voices, lots of kids. They have a party every night when the parents are at dinner's and shows. I complained and was able to get a credit of ~$150. I had my wife and 2 older teens who all noticed it. on another note, this room was also middle of the ship and had very little ocean movement.
Found your site. Really enjoy your presentation style. Looking forward to catching up on some older ones and have subscribed for the new ones. Looking forward to all things about the start up.
Thanks for your awesome videos. Quick question. I just missed out on a corner aft suite by an hour. Ugh. I have an aft extended balcony ATM. Room 9505. I am thinking about a forward corner Excel suite. What would you pick? I love the Excel perks.
We stayed in 15330 which is one of the rooms highlighted in your video. The location was amazing, the extended balcony spoiled us but it was very loud. We heard the music from Lido all the time, as well as the bass from the Dine In movies at night. It wasn’t something that bothered u, we were quite tired every night when we laid down so it didn’t keep us up but it was very noticeable and I see no way to avoid it in these cabins so if your someone who is a light sleeper or just like a quiet cabin maybe not the best spot to choose.
This is really helpful information. Thanks for putting it together. We’ve been in a room near the anchor on other ships, but we tend to get up earlier so it didn’t bother us too much. If you like so sleep in, I agree those rooms should definitely be avoided.
Thanks Cathy :D Our room on the Ecstasy was at the front and it was super noisy! haha. However, we have been on others and it wasn't so bad. It probably really depends on the ship but better safe than sorry! lol
I’d rather be by the anchor than under the pool deck, above a show lounge, or by busy elevators. Another bad spot is by a passenger laundry or any area where doors are frequently opened and closed like perhaps a pantry or housekeeping locker. I worked on board ships many years ago and Kel’s videos are making me nostalgic!
Very informative video Kellie, we worked booked on the mardi gras for the 14th floor. Unfortunately not going on that trip now but we will be getting on the ship in the future. Been missing you and Jason's videos. Have a great day...
I'd add the top balcony cabins where the ship extends over the top of your balcony, you'll never get sun, and its a little claustrophobic. Also certain balconies on dk 9 where you have no balcony roof and the balconies above you can look down into your balcony!
Dee & Jay from ParoDeeJay booked a Havana inside and they can hear the music from the theater. I'm sure they're glad they'll be moving for their second leg.
We just was on Carnival MG 10/29/22 and 9387 is directly over the smoking area. We weren’t able to enjoy our balcony which you paid to enjoy. It should be noted when booking a room.
my fiancé and i were in a family harbor interiors last year on the celebration. if the sound proofing on the mardi gras is anything like the celebration you’ll be fine. anytime we walked out we saw many children but we could never hear anything bothersome from inside the room. were sailing on the mardi gras soon and had booked a family harbor ocean view. hopefully my experience is a pleasant as the first time1
Hi I just came across your video. Thanks for this great review! I’m looking into booking a room in the Havana cabanas on the Marci gras. I would definitely need a room to avoid noise as I am a light sleeper and we go to bed around 9pm. Any suggestions?

Hi I know this has this has been 4 months ago but we booked a cruise for this big ship for November 2022 .my husband is retiring and want a balcony room.So the room is 8B I think on the tenth floor .can you tell me a little about that room.you think it's bad if you get sea sick.
We will be on the Mardi Gras July 31st. Our cabin is on deck 10 as well. AND we will also be touring an 8B cabin. We will give a review once we are on the ship so make sure you are subscribed with the bell notifcation on so you don't miss any Mardi Gras reviews :)
Thank you for that helpful information. Do you also have any recommendations based on balcony over-hang areas or where the sides of the ships dip in and out? Good/bad/wind issues/privacy issues maybe?
I recommend being very careful picking a balcony room. We sailed in November in a Junior Suite balcony and thought we had chosen wisely. But the upper balcony rooms stack up receding so every balcony above yours can see down into your balcony. Also discovered our balcony looked out onto the roof of the bar next to the smoking area. It was blindingly white during the days when you walked out. We booked a Cove balcony for our next cruise on this ship.
It depends on the size of the scooter. I think it would be very hard to get a scooter inside an interior (it would fit but then there would be very little room to manauver) Check out our video we published on interior cabin so you can get a feel for size: th-cam.com/video/b0BJ8d6RfpM/w-d-xo.html
I noticed our cabin 9357 was on the list of being a cabin not to book, because the atrium is directly below... I DON'T care... we use eat plugs anyway... but, thank you for your input... I absolutely love your videos... your videos are informative, simply explained, and thorough...

Hi . I like your videos. When you cruise on mardi gras can you make note entry into the different pools. I hate the few ladders on the 2 ships I have been on. Thanks .I am on MG 1/22/22
I think you will have an amazing view off the balcony! Might be a little windy at times on the balcony. Noise wise, you shouldn't have any problems! Deck 10 is a great choice!
Hi Kathleen. After looking at the actual Mardi Gras, I don't think the cove balconies will be obstsructed at all! :D I think you will have a wonderful cabin with an amazing view!
in port the anchors are not used ,only in the port of calls where tender service bring people to shore otherwise the noise of mooring decl ,rope decl only lasdts about 15 to 20 min
True. But with COVID, they may end up at their private islands like Half Moon Key in which case requires tender. And of course, I am sure you know itineraries get changed last minute sometimes
Yep good point! I think it's one of the reason's they are building a dock at Half Moon Cay as well so both the Mardi Gras and Celebration can port at a dock!

if you dont like noise a cruise a confined space surrounded by ceiling speakers everywhere , bars disco clubs theatre people confined constantly walkin above your headbelow and on the 3 sides except the balcony of your room, remember the best is,,,,go with the flow and go out rill vlubs close around 2 am and then go to sleep , drink a tall glass of water between alcoholic drinks it will prevent your hangover and island tour dehydration in the morning ,use the toilettes before you walk out the cabin and before goin ashore
The balcony cabins on 10, 11,12 above the restaurants are awful. They leave the music on from the restaurants 24/7. There's also a light that shines all night.
I agree with the elevator because I was right behind it In a handicap room and princess decided to rape up the carpet In the middle of the night and kept us awake all night,

I was just on this cruise and was in room 10399 and it was tiny but it worked
cabin 5450 cove balcony is that good? is it obstructed view?
Hi Kathleen. After looking at the actual Mardi Gras, I don't think the cove balconies will be obstsructed at all! :D I think you will have a wonderful cabin with an amazing view!
in port the anchors are not used ,only in the port of calls where tender service bring people to shore otherwise the noise of mooring decl ,rope decl only lasdts about 15 to 20 min
True. But with COVID, they may end up at their private islands like Half Moon Key in which case requires tender. And of course, I am sure you know itineraries get changed last minute sometimes
YES! Jan 2.22
Hope you have a wonderful time :)
I don't see a link. Going on Mardi Gras in March 2023
How do you know if it’s connecting rooms?
If you look at the deck plans, you will see a little triangle between the 2 cabins if it is connecting
Yes on Oct 2023
Thanks 😊
is 15456 a good room?
Mardi Gras doesn’t have any tender ports on her 2 Caribbean itineraries and the anchor will not be used.
Very good point.
Yep good point! I think it's one of the reason's they are building a dock at Half Moon Cay as well so both the Mardi Gras and Celebration can port at a dock!
@@phrewilly8556 Mardi Gras nor the Celebration have Half Moon on any of there itineraries.
Great information. How about room 12334? Hopefully not near stars/ elevator.
I looked up that cabin. Great location. You should have no sound problems at all :)
We are booked for August but the closer we get, the more we think it won’t be happening for us. Especially if we can’t drive through the border. 😭
Ugh! It's so hard not knowing! Hey, did you see my message that you won a cruise car decal? :D
@@TheTravelScouts Yay! 😍 No I did not see that message. Thanks for letting me know. Where can I find that message? lol
@@luv_to_cruise LOL. I am wondering if anyone has seen that they are a winner because no one has responded! lol. I responded to where you wrote "give away" on our live video on The Summit Push channel. Just send me your mailing address and I will send it out to you this week :D thetravelscouts@gmail.com
@@TheTravelScouts sounds good, I will send you an email. I just went back to that video and still don’t see a message. I’m wondering what happened? lol 🤔
@@luv_to_cruise Ok, that is so strange! I am looking at in on the screen right now! What in the world TH-cam? lol
if you dont like noise a cruise a confined space surrounded by ceiling speakers everywhere , bars disco clubs theatre people confined constantly walkin above your headbelow and on the 3 sides except the balcony of your room, remember the best is,,,,go with the flow and go out rill vlubs close around 2 am and then go to sleep , drink a tall glass of water between alcoholic drinks it will prevent your hangover and island tour dehydration in the morning ,use the toilettes before you walk out the cabin and before goin ashore
Thanks for chiming in the community
we are in room 9481 hopefully it is a quiet area
We have cabin 5212 Is that good?
Hi Kim. The main theater is right above your cabin. Know that there may be the possibility of hearing some of the music from the shows in the evening.
September 25 2021 !
Awesome!
I need the pdf of worst cabins but dont know how to access.

can i get a copy of the deck plan please
Hi James. To get the guide, just click on this link and then check your email :) thetravelscouts.ck.page/ce34315768
We are in room 14498 can't to get in my own personal hot tub on the balcony
Jealous! lol
@@TheTravelScouts its a first for us we normally do a extended balcony. Just happens my wife fell into a open spot
The balcony cabins on 10, 11,12 above the restaurants are awful. They leave the music on from the restaurants 24/7. There's also a light that shines all night.
I booked cabin 12503 in October
Did you see our room tour? th-cam.com/video/eVknTBOkMCs/w-d-xo.html
No cabin room is bad. I’ll on a 🚢, most people are just picky. Noise doesn’t bother me. The executive suite are not in a good position either.
Yes, its really a matter of preference. :) Thanks for watching and chiming in!
Forgot about the roller coaster
I don't believe there are any rooms directly under the roller coaster (or the boarding area)
I agree with the elevator because I was right behind it In a handicap room and princess decided to rape up the carpet In the middle of the night and kept us awake all night,
Thanks for the comment!
There's not such things of Ron cabins you dismay that you need to stop that that's not nice
Where is the link at add email
