A TEENY BIT LARGER print wouls be AWESOME. Thomas Nelson Comfort print is very nice. I hope they choose to bump the font size up a bit. There are SO MANY of us who read the Bible ....but truly have only learned about deep study and engagement in the past 5 years. We are older, retired, have the blessing of time we did not have earlier in our lives...we just struggle to find the fonts we CAN comfortably use for longer periods of time. I think we ARE a pretty big demographic and begging for those larger prints. I LOVE their bibles. Reader only is their thin line McClaren...could be a wee bit larger in the font, but it is a good one...for now. Best when my eyes were at their worst is a giant print......but my favorite is their end of verse reference...the font is wonderful...and I SO WISH they would add an extra 2 inches for notes on the outside....might have to make it taller, but It is the jammed packed Bible I love. The poor thing is 1/3 thicker and fanning because I have glued/taped in pages for notes. PLEASE, THOMAS NELSON, PLEASE !!!! and THANK YOU !!!!
That burgundy one is calling my name 🥰 and the spaces to write at the side are absolutely amazing almost like a journaling Bible too. Thank you for circling back to this one!
That Bible feels reminiscent of the Jesus Bible from Zondervan! I have the green Artist Edition ESV Jesus Bible, and I love the layout and dimensions of it. Thank you for sharing this one from Nelson!
Gidday Tim. Thanks to your review I have just ordered this Bible off Amazon, and what is even better is that I got it at a discount due to the end of financial year sale. Thanks so much 🙂
I own the Thomas Nelson KJV Study Bible in Genuine Leather and it is one of the finest I have owned at a bargain price! The only ones I own of higher quality are Cambridge and Schuyler, of course at twice the price
This Bible looks very similar to the “Pray the Scriptures Bible” by Bethany House. Although it’s out of print, I got one from EBay long ago. It’s a fantastic prayer resource. I’m glad Thomas Nelson publish this prayer Bible ! Every Christian should have one! ❤
Though not my taste, if it brings people to God and to Christ, then I am all for it! I am delighted to see that at least they printed it in India, and not in atheist China. Best wishes to you, Tim, from Texas.
Your comment is nonsensical. Hinduism, not Christianity, is the largest religion in India. And while there are Christians in India, there are also many Christians in China. I know this for certain because I have been to China six times, and my wife and stepson are Chinese.
@@guymontag349 Then go for it, Jethro! I assume you work for our state dept. since you've been there six times! You have my sympathy as with all the compromised.
Another great review. I have Abide Bible NKJV hardcover at home and Abide NET leather-soft at office. They are great! Thanks for clarifying that the prayers in this are new content! Looking forward to adding the hardcover to my devotional rotation.
@@timwildsmithcould I please ask with the prayer Bible? Would you recommend having the abide Bible with the prayer Bible? Or is the prayer Bible just enough on its own!!
I thought you said there were other translations available, but then I listened again and I don't hear that. When I got the Abide Bible I returned the NKJV for the NET, simply because I prefer black-letter. I wish this Prayer Bible had a black-letter option for my old eyes. Thanks for this review! ❤
I ordered this one after seeing your review and it arrived pretty quickly from Amazon. I was impressed with it at first. However, while skimming through various parts of the bible I noticed some problems with the end of the New Testament. There were some pages through the 3 Johns and the book of Revelation that were out of order, mislabeled and some missing. I requested a return. Not sure if I want to re-order. I also have the Abide Bible which I love.
This looks great. And amazon has the burgundy! I really wish there were more Catholic Bibles along these lines. We do have the Catholic Prayer Bible from Paulist Press, but it doesn't have some of the features of this one, like the index to the prayers in the Bible. (But -- only one ribbon?)
I got the study Bible kjv edition from Thomas Nelson. As a first Bible I love it as the explanations at the bottom are extremely helpful. Highly recommend the study Bible I got the leather one I think can’t remember what kind
I have the NET Abide Bible, and wore out the cover. I bought a new cover for it and continuing with that. This does seem like a nice one, but I found my dream Bible and ordered it. Just received it and hope it will last me the rest of my life. 🤭
Hi Brother Tim. I started following the "Sisterita Club" on TH-cam. She teaches how to make your own prayer bible with different tabs for different prayer topics. Made 8 so far for gifts. I Love my tabbed prayer Bible for praying Scripture to the Lord. It has become my treasure for prayer time. I did purchase this NKJV Prayer Bible to see the topics of prayer for each chapter. I was planning on turning it into a personally tabbed prayer Bible, too. Overall, it was a nice Bible, also, for journaling. The reason I returned it was that the print was too light. I found it irritating to read for that reason. Some of these newer bibles need a little darker ink, please. Thanks for the review. ✝️📖🙏🤍
Hey Tim, would you check the intro in the book of Ruth, in that Prayer Bible? Another Bible reviewer read that intro and it seems like her copy has a mistake, not just a typo. It’s switched Naomi’s name for another woman.
I don't own a Bible, I don't know which one to get and have been watching your videos to help me decide. Any recommendations? I want something that will last and that is nice so that I will be more motivated and excited to use it.
My Nelson Bibles are from the 1980s and then we went with Zondervan after that. The print of the old Bibles, by today's standards, isn't as efficient and comfortable as the fonts of today. So seeing a modern Nelson was quite a surprise. I still prefer the NIV Study as far as style goes.
There are quite a number of 1-3 star ratings on Amazon for this Bible due to missing pages--even books of this Bible are MIA. Publishing companies are getting their Bibles printed in China and Korea, and there is obviously poor quality control. I recently purchased a Thomas Nelson KJV Kindle version that I absolutely love, and unfortunately the equivalent print version is of unacceptable, inferior quality.
hey Tim, i'd like to ask you the same thing i asked Randy from Bible Buying Guide: in your opinion, why do you think the Canterbury is the highest rated bible on Evangelical Bible?
@@timwildsmith yeah, in your own words, why do you feel like the KJV Canterbury is described as Evangelical Bible's highest rated bible? if you go to their website and you shop Schuyler and then, click on the KJV Canterbury, you'll see in red letters that it is their highest rated bible
My assumption is that this means that it has the highest number of and/or best average score of customer reviews. Perhaps that’s because it’s been around for awhile and it’s only available in KJV… but also because it’s a fantastic and unique edition of the KJV. Modern yet classic at the same time.
@@timwildsmith that makes a lot of sense. something else i'd like to ask: when you're reading any passage of Scripture, what is the proper way to determine the correct context of the passage?

Thank you, Tim. Can you review how to best display Bibles on a bookshelf so that the spine is not compromised? Grace & Peace
I love praying and just talking to God. It relaxes me and sets me right again. This looks like a great Bible. Thank You for reviewing it for us Tim.
No worries. The joy of finally finding it is irreplaceable 😊
Love this Tim!! No better way to pray than praying His Word and His promises in our lives daily!! Thanks so much!!
Absolutely!

I appreciate that!
I am thinking of buying this Bible.
I have this Bible. It’s great for basic reflections on every chapter of the Bible.

More publishers need to make Bibles with this size and dimensions. I much prefer this to some of the narrower layouts.

Love red letter text
Love the wide margins
Can't deal with the small print
Wonder about the paper thickness
Don't like single column

Compare and beware! Proverbs 18:1 KJV.
Totally off topic but could you recommend any ESV Catholic study Bibles? They all seem to be RSV or NAB
I don't know of any ESV Catholic Bibles with study material.
Thanks. I'll try find a Protestant one which focuses on history, etc
Do you lose much wide margin space for writing in the Psalms if they put prayer prompts for every chapter and Psalms has many shorter chapters?
Is this the same Prayer Bible that Guideposts released about a year ago in paperback?
I don't think so.

Read commentaries and Bible dictionaries… listen to sermons… use a study Bible.
