After a year and a half with my X-T3 time has come to retire it and upgrade to the Fuji X-H2s.
The fuji X-T3 came out back in 2018 and was a great hybrid camera from the start, but Fujis numerous firmware update kept improving it through the years and really made it a great value for the price.
Even being an "old" discontinued mirrorless camera this thing really packs a punch and can compete with much pricier cameras. The X-T3 especially shines for video by offering 10-bti 4k in 24, 30 and 60 fps which is something not even the most prized hybrid camera at that time - the Sony a7III - was offering.
Fujis autofocus in the X-T3 and updated X-T4 was still lacking behind Sony and Canon but I would not consider it bad by any means. It always performed well for me both in photo and video, you just can't expect it to be always on point and have to work with it to make it work well for what you need.
While you can still get new X-T3s, the best value is found on the used market where these cameras go for 600 to 800 euros, which is a great deal for how much you can get out of them.

The XT3 is still a power horse, Fuji revived the camera by always keeping the firmware up to date. I have the XH2s and they definitely made a great leap in the video section.
Totally agree. I also have the X-H2s and its great. But its crazy how much of a better camera the X-T3 is in 2024 (with all the firmware updates) than what it was in 2018
@@perhat22photo Fuji is so good at firmware updates. I also have the original X100 and the autofocus was improved by around 20% after the firmware update. And for the XT3 4k60 is still relevant in today’s standards.

a great upgrade, especially if you don't want the extra space those 40mp raws will take in your long term storage. I love how fast the readout on the xh2s is for video, makes the footage so much cleaner

The one thing I don't understand is what is going on with the hot shoes? You put on a mic or a flash a few times on and the paint starts peeling off.
As for the IBIS, the more I use it, the less I like it. I've got a Ronin SC with a focus wheel and it works great.
BTW where are you from? Croatia? Rijeka? The car shot streets look familiar, like I've been driving through.
Yeah the hot shoe does peel quickly, but I don't really mind it, as long as it works.
The IBIS is hit and miss, sometimes its great other times it jerks when it should not, but helps a lot with longer focal lenghts for video.
Yeah I am originally from Croatia, don't remember which photos I put in the video anymore, but if they were shot in Croatia probably Pula or Zagreb
Hey , great video, I bought an a7siii after 4 years with fujifilm xt3, guess what, I returned it. Quick question for you , On XT3 when you lock white balance , turn off-on camera, awb lock its still active. Has the XH2S same feature ? if you lock it and switch battery or turn it off , when turned on is it still on the same awb lock ?

Just tried the awb lock and yes it stays on when you turn the camera off and on

I still love it but my only regret is to enjoy the classic negative on the camera, maybe with a new firmware...
At this point i dont think new sims are coming for the xt3, but i still think no simulation is better than classic chrome anyways.
Btw i think there is a film recepie for classic neg on fuji-x weekly

Yeah, I thought it might come in a firmware update but I understand fuji not giving it all the newest bells and whistles since its two generations old at this point. I still prefer classic chrome to any other simulation tho 😅
I access Classic Negative with my X-T3 via Capture One. I also wish it was give in a firmware update though.
