Hey Adnac looking good there! On a totally different note, the 18-120mm has become more useful now because of the final cut pro magnetic mask(or even davinci's magic mask) since those works better in practice when there's not much separation between the subject youre masking and the background.
The stepping focus makes video for any cinematic type of work pretty unusable. obviously not an issue for photos, but if they could make the transitions smoother and not that jarring instant stepping it would be so nice. please fuji make the autofocus at least SMOOTH
The real question for still photography, is whether when the person is moving, and the camera says it’s focused, are the images in the editor sharp or are they blurred? This has been the problem in the past, the camera says it’s sharp, but the editor shows different!
The camera is hunting if you see the background -in final thoughts - it looks like it's pulsing. Noticed exact same thing in my X-h2s too, in eye tracking mode but oddly not in in wide/tracking mode.
@@Sina3gs I only see the background thing you’re talking about as I move in and out of the camera and I’m moving a lot here but that is to be expected the background will adjust as the distance of subject to camera changes. I was specifically looking for the background pulsing but notice in the subject tracking I didn’t see any pulsing of the background as I’m not moving in and out I’m moving side to side.
@Sina3gs That's fine as long as it's not constant pulsing. Pulses now and there happens on sony cameras (and even movies too!) as long as its not constant and distracting like before, for next tests probably the reviewers should test without the box thing. Overall looks good (and firmware notes they say this is still partial)!
@@Eyeofkamau oh really?! I will give it a try and update the lens as well! I don’t usually update the lenses because it requires an SD card but I will make it a point to do that. Did you sell your 16-55mm or did you just sell the entire system?
@ give it a try! The 16-55 was my go to for doc work, loved it even more when they fixed that. I only sold it because I decided to switch to cinema lenses
@@Michael-fw5ef I’m not sure to be honest. This AF issue affected xtrans 5 sensors and the xt30ii is a xtrans 4. My xt4 with xtrans 4 has better AF than my xh2s for a long time until this new firmware was released.
@@catherinegrimes2308 yes you’re right. I meant to say xtrans 5 system not sensor. The sensor is not doing any AF it’s the processor handling this task which you correctly said.

@@michaelgreenstone4840 totally man I’m with you we need this fixed! I think the AF is going into the right direction with the latest firmware.
Fuji has always struggled with smooth autofocus. You’d think a linear motor would be capable. I understand it for stepping motors a little bit more.
@@awake780 totally!
Edvard has a possible explanation why this is still happening on Fujifilm in his latest video at around 7:15 min.
Really happy to see this improvement and looking forward to the update for my X-T5. I hope I can finally move on from v2.10.

How is the AF after a couple of days use?
Tasted out the (object) tracking after seeing your video. It's insanely good now, it sticks so well! Feels very dependable, even with my 16mm 1,4.
@@BTMovieSecondChannel it really is very good!!! I’m so glad Fuji fixed the AF all around!
