Thanks for the video and the straightforward feedback. I'm still wondering what should I buy and most likely at this point it won't be a fuji

Glad it was helpful! Yeah sadly as of right now if you want the best and most reliable camera it is not Fuji, although I still LOVE the damn cameras and to be clear they work and can produce good results. Let's hope they fix the AF algorithm and then I can recommend you one of their cameras. Dude really thanks for the donation! Highly appreciate it!
The most annoying issue is that I sold my 2 xt3's to buy an xh2s , mainly because autofocus "improvements" and to see that in some cases its worse than the xt3 was. Now I bought again an xt3 just to play with it and for example "Multi" in video on xt3 is miles better than xh2s even on fw1. People think i'm the bad guy but I will not sell it, I rant fuji because I want them to fix it.
It's pretty amazing when you speak the truth about a particular brand, in things you would think would help people understand what's going on, or make the best of their equipment, and instead you get denials and pitchforks. I totally empathize.

SO TRUE! I mean on the XH2S sometimes it is good and I got a shot and was like: "Dude this af is pretty good" and other times the person is in front of me and the cameras focuses behind or on some tree. Like WTF?? Very inconsistent. And people will see what they want to see in a video. When I saw your first vids I was thinking you were too harsh, too critical, because your approach was super direct. But I do see your point and agree! And honestly if you're getting some bad comments on a video it means you are on the right path so keep it up dude. And thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. P.S I also had an X-T3, it was my first Fuji.
Big mistake, xt3 has better AF tracking than the xh2s... What you can do with the xh2s for it to work well downgrade the firmware.. The early firmware works really well.
I suspected this happening after I purchased my last fuji in 2019 after using their system since 2012. I basically got tired of waiting for them to address issues that other companies have already mastered, then on top of that after the last camera I bought in 2019 I noticed in the camera versions after, performance and build issues became more a common thing while still not fixing already existing issues... I am in the process of selling off 4 or 5 of my 6 fuji cameras and some lenses and only keeping the ones that are iconic in the photography imaging performance. I accepted that what I am keeping are only "fun" cameras, so I ended up going back to Nikon and Canon DSLRs for many practical reasons.
Fujifilm will NEVER admit to their being an issue, or that they broke a feature within their camera because that simply opens them right up to a class action law suit. So you will only ever hear them saying something like 'a Fujifilm Autofocus Improvement f/w update is coming', which is quite different to saying 'we'll fix or put AF back the way it was'. The most interesting thing I think is that the work Edvard has done, it is so good that it has opened all our eyes to what really has been going on. Everyone else followed in his footsteps, he was the first and Fuji must hate him lol. But in truth they should be HIRING him. The mask has fallen and now we can all see that Kaizen is no good thing, it NERFS your camera, it is NOT an enhancer, they add features and it comes at a cost, and all you need to do to see that proof is roll back f/w (which by the way whoever figured that out needs massive credit too). Because Kaizen is like getting fat over time, you don't notice it day by day when looking in the mirror, but compare 6 months older version of you with todays fatty fat fat and yer like 'wow.. woops... i got fat as f@%k', that is Kaizen! I have zero trust in this forthcoming f/w update. Fujifilm are just so bloody lucky for the amateur tiktok filmsimps that carried the brand to success. The Fuji professionals are leaving in droves but that is probably a really small market segment, I truly doubt they care. They have bigger fish to fry like the Cinema arena...
Many good points here. I hope Fujifilm will listen to the complaints, otherwise as you say it it might end up with people leaving Fujifilm for a different brand. And it could be difficult getting those once-loyal clients back.

Indeed! If they don't solve it, a lot of users will got elsewhere. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Too late. It started happening over five years ago, me included after getting my first Fuji in 2012. The "Kaizen" thing was great and all but never addressed pending issues. Waiting on promised fixes never fully resolved, just tiny steps to stay in the "acceptable" category. My last Fuji purchase was in 2019. Went back to my DSLRs and couldn't be more happier. I am keeping a couple fuji cameras and lenses JUST for fun and variety and all the nice 3rd party lenses that have been coming out for the X mount.
@@artsilva I recently discovered a video about Kaizen on Camera Conspiracies, and I understand that these issues have been happening for a long time. I'm really disappointed with my X-T5; it's my first Fujifilm camera and will likely be my last
@@nandysullivan3005 Don't put too much faith on Camera Conspiracies. The who concept of Kaizen in the beginning is a good one. It was a way for fuji to add features onto already existing cameras that new ones get as long as the processor can handle it. It was a way for older cameras to stay relevant and new. Don't get it confused with Firmware Updates, those are "fixes" where Kaizen is gifted new software based "features". However it seems Fuji has really cut down on the Kaizen offerings where FW has been the norm lately, 'doesn't say much for their reputation now.
You can only workaround the buggy AF to a specific point. If you want to take photos beyond that, it's simply pure luck. Anyone not understanding this didn't really shoot in demanding situations. But even in pretty basic situations, it can sometimes simply not focus right, purely random unreliable behavior which is the biggest issue.
This is a scathing, but honest review. Fujifilm, I hope you are listening! I started out with a Fujica ST701 back in the 35 mm days. I now have a Fujifilm XT3. I don’t cherish the thought of changing systems, so please get it together!
4 วันที่ผ่านมา
Tried my best to make it as constructive as I could. To be honest the X-T 3 probably has better AF than X-H2S at this point, at least in video. I used to use an X-T3 to vlog together with a 18-55 and honestly I would not have too many issues even without the flip out screen.
I'm starting to think I must have a "unicorn" XT-5. I took this camera and one lens (23mm/f2) on a photo excursion from Spain to France to Italy to Greece to Croatia, and back. Generally about a 97% hit rate and some of the best images of my life. My extensive collection of Sony bodies and lens stayed home. I'm going to Facebook now to mark myself "Safe from Fujifilm AF issues" now...and to buy a lottery ticket.

Did you do mostly travel photography and street? I mean if it works for you fair enough, I am really happy! And I still love Fuji btw. But I can tell you that for scenarios that are tough on the AF it does not hold its ground as well. Even in this video that you watched if you look closely you will see the AF hunts a little. It should not be like that.
With the Fuji yes. Mostly street and landscape. I have no doubt the AF has issues. I’ve just been fortunate. I am in the crowd that would like Fuji to fix it.
i’ve got an XT5 and the auto focus works perfectly. I don’t understand what all the fuss is about.

It depends what you do and how you shoot. But have you seen how even in this video the AF kind of jumps a little bit especially on the microphone you can notice? It's not even a hard scene... And it's ok, it's on TH-cam, it is minor but it should not be like that
I am a hobby photographer and Fuji is ideal for me, only the system size and the system costs are relevant for me. Even the autofocus of my XT-2 is sufficient for me - but as a pro I would prefer Sony/Nikon/Canon. Apart from that, we are moving at a very high level and 5 years ago you could already take great pictures, today you don't need to be a pro, you just set the autofocus to the desired object and let the camera work....
I love Fujifilm, I love their colors, I love the way it looks, I love their grain. I actually really love my camera. The XT3 will never leave my possession. It is supposed to become my personal/family camera since it's dying. I want badly to have a XH2s for my main workhorse since I'm getting deep into video. But all these issues make me worry. The lack of communication makes me worry. The AF makes me worry. I don't use it much, I usually use back button focus, but it's something that's part of the purchase. If they can't fix that and even bring back kaizen, I can't see myself sticking with them professionally and I REALLY WANT to stick with them professionally. But at this point it feels like I might have to just use another log and get close to the colors my XT3 give me and do the extra footwork for that. But I'm REALLY praying and hoping they come through. I really believe they can. Thanks for speaking up . The more voices speaking the more they will hear.

I was in Switzerland Lauterbrunnen town as a tourist for the first and last time of my life, filming waterfalls, and when i come back home and see that focus hunts, I sold all my fujifilm cameras. I was shooting on 80mm zoom, the subject (waterfal) is kilometer away, EASIEST condition when autofocus just must to pull the focus to infinity thats all! And fuji fails me. Zero tolerans for this fuji! Bye!
As a hobbyist and tourist, I enjoy recording on the go, and my Osmo Pocket 3 is the ideal camera for me due to its excellent picture quality, low light performance, and stabilization for its size. However, for my passion for photography, I decided I needed something small and compact with good ergonomics, so I purchased a Nikon Z30. Before that, I owned an X-T3 and an X-S10, which I have since sold.
100% this! At this point its false advertising for charging so much for the cameras but making them perform even worse with each firmware. Also, AF failures suck big time even as a non-professional. Missing a great shot during a vacation in a foreign land is truly sad.

Definitely not a hardware issue, the algo on most Fuji cams is not very good. The X-M5 supposedly has better autofocus with the same hardware, so maybe there will be an improvement with a firmware update.
