I've always heard about Taiwan but never visited until last winter. We really didn't know what to expect. We were so pleasantly surprised by our week visit to this wonderful country. All the people and places were a new adventure and delight. The place is clean, safe and the people reminded me a lot of Japan with good manners and consideration for others. Even in the subway, everyone stood in lines on the floor and there was never any pushing or cutting in line. I'd go back in a heartbeat if given another chance.

Their infrastructure one of the best. I have never experiencing difficulty in getting any public transport. Ppl are also very very friendly there.

Try the great outdoors if you can. Up on the mountains, the beaches down south or east coast or surrounding islands like Orchard island.
Taiwan gets super hot btw, you guys are just lucky to be there during winter.
