Stupid orange manlet lizard that isn't even a fully Dragon Type Pokémon but Masuda keeps forcing us to see new forms of him with Mega Charizard X AND Y and then Gigantamax and now a BLACK TERA DRAGON RAID IN SCARLET AND VIOLET why is this happening why not any other starter like Blaziken or Infernape or Typhlosion LITERALLY ANYONE WHY IS HE LEON'S ACE WHY IS THERE FOUR TRAINERS IN THE MASTERS 8 WHO USE CHARIZARD HUHHHHHHHHHHH?????

Water pokemon are my favorite but i never really had a problem with Charizard, he always was kinda cool but they gave him so much shit that i must hate him. So fucking overrated man. Why must that dogshit pokemon beat blastoise in the anime when Blastoise is supposed to shit on him solely based on TYPE ALONE, not to mention Blastoise is tankier and can withstand a barrage of moves from Charizard then pretty much one shot with hydro pump. And to add insult to injury, there are way cooler/more powerful fire flying types out there. Moltres and Ho-Oh, who are both legendary phoenixes, and Talonflame who broke the game with Gale Wings. They had to give the lizard new forms just to stay relevant.
If I am being honest, I am freaking tired of the popular pokemon getting all the attention, Pikachu is an exepction cause it is a mascot and dosen't get a stupid amount of love unlike Charizard. Some even got an unfair treatment(Don't get me wrong, I like Ash greninja, but what makes it so special on needing this).

Honestly, the reason why I hate Charizard is because Charizard was the ONLY pre-Gen 8 Starter that didn’t require HOME (Unlike Bulbasaur, Squirtle or the Alola Trio) or DLC (Unlike the Hoenn Trio) to be available in Sword and Shield. Heck, The Johto, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos Starters aren’t even available on Sword and Shield.
Then there’s Scarlet and Violet where Charizard was the ONLY KANTO STARTER THAT DIDN’T HAVE TO WAIT FOR INDIGO DISK TO BE OBTAINABLE. And even then Charizard was also the first Starter in Tera Raids.

I read a comment on TrueGreen7's video, it is because of the Cultural divide between Japan and the US. In Japan Red was the one that had the most bought between Green and Red. For the US it was Blue. So Nintendo/The Pokemon Company being a Japanese company only regards Charizard because he is more popular in Japan. So you could say it is the different Cultural Biases between the Japanese fans and the World

Charizard is one of my favorite mons. Seriously I love him. But man am I sick of seeing him everywhere. The funniest thing for me is that they keep giving him cheap personality boosts like 2 megas and a Gigantamax form, but then important things like his stats aren´t unique nor good competitively speaking. And they gave him a bad hidden ability while Blaziken obtained Speed Boost... twice. Hell even he shared the same cry with Ryhorn until gen 6.

Alright, I’m late as hell, but I don’t care. As a Charizard fan, I have to agree that he’s very overrated. He’s used for literally everything Pokemon related. I love this fire breathing dragon (even though Gamefreak screwed him over with the 4x weakness to rock by not just giving him the dragon typing). But, give some other starters some love. Like, give any other fire starter, or just any starter in general (that isn’t Delphox, I just hate it for some reason, and I don’t really like Emboar either) some love, especially Blaziken, best (fire) starter in the game. But, people could also make videos on all the other overrated and overused Pokemon too, I guess people just like to bully Charizard but ignore the other Pokemon. Anyway, great video! And I’m sorry I wrote a paragraph. 😭

It was the people I respect the least in the community that made Charizard popular. You know, those kids who buy cards in great quantity but weren't aware you could play a game with them? Those people.
They looked at the numbers (HP, Atk Dmg and Lv) and declared Charizard the best, despite how mediocre the card was in gameplay (or would be if any serious player used Charizard). In the days of Gen 1, one could easily sell a Charizrd for a good amount of money, with which one could buy cards one actualy wanted to keep/play (such as Hitmonchan, Scyther, etc). That was why one got such a thrill from opening a pack and getting a Charizard.
The Logan Paul generation remembers this about Charizrd, hence anything with Charizard on it will command a higher price: it's tradition at work here.
Nintendo, also, is fully aware of this, which is why they continuously pimp Gene 1 Pokemon. If it's not a starter or a legendary, it's a Gen 1 card/item one is trying to get---just about every chase card is either a legendary or a Pikachu/Charizard.
Nintendo isn't going to change this. Diverting from the topic a bit, Nintendo is very passive-aggressive against Pokemon, allocating as little time and resources to it as they can get away with. Why? Because we buy it.
Nintendo uses Pokemon to fund games they actually want to make, such as Zelda and Mario titles. Breath of the Wild? Yeah, that was paid for with Pokemon money.
TL;DR: I blame Logan Paul, and the Pokemon Company will never change.

I don’t know what Charizard did to earn all of this? Greninja on the other hand, did earn his popularity. Unfortunately, my Boi Greninja gets treated poorly in order to stabilize Charizards “Popularity” status. As a result, Nintendo punishes Greninja and takes away his hard worked earnings. It’s always nerf, nerf, and nerf and it’s annoying. Greninja even has been absent for Gen 8 and comes back later in Gen 9 to get nerfed even more! Remember the anime where Greninja fights Charizard At the Kalos League? He lost because Charizard goes Brrr. Greninja has been under oppression because Charizard Brrrs, Brrrs, and Brrrs everywhere.
I still have not gotten over Ash's loss on Kalos league. Although I think that is less of a charizard goes Brrr problem and more of a writers' brains are the densest piece of rock in the fucking universe and not willing to budge on the tradition of Ash losing the league. They should have noticed people weren't amused after pulling that Darkrai + Latios stunt back in Sinnoh... goddamnit.
Charizard also appeared in pokken tournament while Greninja didnt even appear in the background.

Charmander is the least popular of the gen 1 starters I think. At least nowadays, back in the day it was likely Bulbasaur, but nowadays I think Bulbasaur has more fans than Charmander. So as far as Charizard being "the best of the gen 1 starters" I think that opinion is really only arguable when talking about final stage, although yes, many would say Blastoise is better. Do you remember Shell Shocker? Have you played Pokemon Unite? Blastoise is pretty neat.
