I worked for KY-102 in Kansas City in the late 70's- early 80's. I was backstage after a show and Stevie was there working the room. At one point, she came up to me and said a few things. I froze. She giggled and said.....man, you gotta loosen up.....I don't bite. As the band was preparing to leave, she came up to me again and gave me a hug and kissed my cheek. Some things you never forget.

Of the many versions of this song available out there, this is the best. No disrespect to Lindsay Buckingham, who is an impressive guitarist, but his style on the album is a distraction to the pure energy this song possesses. And it took former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Bob Welch to bring it out. Christine McVie, who is heard but not seen adds that impeccable harmony to the vocals. Unleashing Mick Fleetwood from behind the drum kit to contribute cowbell, bongo and the occasional stolen cymbal crash from the drummer's kit is brilliant! Of course, there is Stevie. This is her song and possibly her signature song. No one else could deliver like this. Even the mix is just right, especially considering it was hardly a formal recording environment. I agree. Stevie was one of the most beautiful women in the world - I honestly think she's more beautiful now than she was back then - and no one could touch her voice (actually, that's not true. I lover to death, but Ann Wilson could and still can outsing anyone and everyone). That being said, I disagree about "heyday." Stevie is still arguably one of the most beautiful women in the world and her voice is still amazing. I was lucky enough to see her in Seattle the last time she was there for the 24 Karat Gold tour. I was so crushing on her back then. She and Mick made a surprise appearance on a Bob Welch concert that was televised. The way Fleetwood slipped in and took over the drumming without missing a beat and the look on Bob Welch's face when he heard Stevie come in on vocals. Around '78 or so, great times.

Stevie has always had such a brilliant presence on stage but this era has to be THE best I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen Fleetwood Mac twice in U.K about 10 yrs ago,one without and then one with Christine in it….can’t beat these earlier performances though when their voices were like gold! Awesome!😉

I want to thank you so much for sharing this video. I became a fan at age 14 in 1976. I'll be 60 next February and still love her music and watch this video about everyday! Its probably the best live video I ever seen with Stevie! Thank you Again!!!
I loved this song, as a singer loved the unusual timbre of her voice, and her songwriting style. I loved her clothes and the way she sang her songs unlike anyone. And and I remember seeing this and knowing she was losing it somehow, and she says in later interviews how and why. But information reached us more slowly back then and time seemed different as well. Even though her vocal range appears to be still working for her, it's as if I can feel her psychic fears of losing it, which she did. Many of the comments here are coming from non-musicians and people who view Stevie as a pop personality, who they have an emotional relationship with because they think they actually know her. I'm hoping she reads mine so that she gets to the part where I say it would be awesome to hear what's to share from in there right now, because I remember in the beginning what was, and that is the truth and what shall ever be so and thanks for the all BEAUTIFUL music. 🎶❤🎶
I danced with Stevie on her 40th birthday, I was 38. May I think. It was in Los Gatos, at an old bar with a dance floor, or maybe they just moved the chairs, I don't remember. Carry Nations, I believe, was the name of the place. She was staying over in Santa Cruise. They had a house or a studio over there. I went back to San Jose in 1988 to see her and the rest of the band live at the cow palace that year. Good times.
Give "Wide Sargasso Sea" (from "In Your Dreams") a listen; she STILL knows how to rock! (For grins, also give "Cat House Blues" from "24k Gold" a shot...it's charming.)
Been to see FM over 20 times dating back to the late 70s and this is by far the best version over Gold Dust I've ever seen without even the whole band. Something to be said about a good old fashion jam session in a small venue.

The way Fleetwood slipped in and took over the drumming without missing a beat and the look on Bob Welch's face when he heard Stevie come in on vocals. Around '78 or so, great times.
I sure would love to see that!
Stevie was the bomb back then, but so were we all LOL.
Woooo !
...she still is... and, in a very special way, we are all still as well... except for shorter Bomb 💣 fuses sometimes...🎶
Long Live Musical Journeys Galore 🎶
Bomb we were and still remain
Stevie forever ❤✌✌
Remember Nazareth? So small a club, their tour bus in the alley right out back. As they took the stage, front man says HI, HEY I BET YOU REMEMBER US AS TALL, AND GOOD LOOKIN'
(in their Scottish accent)
True
Mick as a legendary percussionist drummer, I love HIM!!! 💕💕💕💕💕💕
Amazing performance...👏 BRAVO!👏
RIP Bob Welch 🙏
Damn ........ just damn. I feel I've been elevated to a new level of rock wisdom now.
Incredible performance...RIP Bob Welch.
This is world class archive material and captures a great performance by Stevie and Fleetwood Mac! This is a gem!
Bob Welch is without question the unsung hero of FM.
Amazing performance. All the instruments involved is crazy and to be able to hear them all clearly. Totally badass! She could slay it with her voice only but just saying. Great music
When you go to a concert and the band plays even better than you thought possible. You walk out of that place with a deep respect for the talent you just witnessed!
One of the most powerful, talented and beautiful voices in the business.
A beautiful voice in the prime of her life. My favorite version of her performance of this song.
Stevie and Bob had a great respect for one another.
Ok there is nothing better then this out there... just played this 4 times in a row.
Amen!!!!!! So Good!!!!!!
You should watch the whole show.

Bob Welch and friends live at the Roxie. Everyone from Fleetwood Mac except Buckingham appears at one time or another. Great show
Best...
@@onusgumboot5565 --Thank you. I will be doing this right now.
Once off magic here
Stevie has always had such a brilliant presence on stage but this era has to be THE best I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen Fleetwood Mac twice in U.K about 10 yrs ago,one without and then one with Christine in it….can’t beat these earlier performances though when their voices were like gold! Awesome!😉
Stevie TAKES THE LEAD and the rest just FEED off her ENERGY and it builds and gets more and more intense! AMAZING and POWERFUL!
I KNO!!! FRIGGIN GREAT💣💥
That's all part of being a singer..being able to do that and keep the fans amped up💕💕 She is awesome, I couldn't do that! ✌️🌹🥰🖤💜🖤💜
Wats powerful is seeing her at her first opening concert overthrowing main band! Blew everyone’s mind with her beauty voice songs! Talk abt energy, you couldn’t be a more energized audience listening & seeing her. Now that’s powerful!

@@blancamiranda7424 Hell, try and imagine what Stevie Nicks is like face-to-face in-person. I've talked with her in-person while in CA a few times.
That Bob Welch guitar work is phenomenal.
wow . . . . what a fantastic version. Just incredible combination of voice, instruments and timing . . . massive talent on that stage that night
This is so timeless go this woman can go on forever as long as I'm concerned her voice possesses myself what can I say God I love me some Stevie still listening May of 2021
She is the bomb, forever my favorite female vocalist.
I want to thank you so much for sharing this video. I became a fan at age 14 in 1976. I'll be 60 next February and still love her music and watch this video about everyday! Its probably the best live video I ever seen with Stevie! Thank you Again!!!
She infused every line with such emotion, passion and unique voice ...at every performance. Genius
Wow....Bob,Mick and Stevie was really enjoying this performance ...outstanding.
What a treat to hear this live Stevie Nicks performance!
RIP Christine McVie. Your performance here makes me want to watch this video even more. 👼
Good times.
And then she left you there did you know how how to pick up the pieces to go home....A. Gypsy woman

I loved her since highschool basically
Brilliant Stevie Nicks. My Favorite song. You are the Voice of Forever. You make my Heart and Soul Dance. Thank you.❤🎸🎤🎵🎶✌
And that ladies and gentlemen is a fucking rock star! 🎸🍺
Wow she really belted it out sounding better live than on the album. She sounds great. 💘😻💜💛💚🧡💘
Stevie always the best singer yes she is older but the still a great rocker and amazing singer. Thanks for years of beautiful songs.
Give "Wide Sargasso Sea" (from "In Your Dreams") a listen; she STILL knows how to rock! (For grins, also give "Cat House Blues" from "24k Gold" a shot...it's charming.)
Thanks for this treasure what rare treat back when musician rocked it out and got into.so cool
Been to see FM over 20 times dating back to the late 70s and this is by far the best version over Gold Dust I've ever seen without even the whole band. Something to be said about a good old fashion jam session in a small venue.
Stevie Nicks, what a voice, what else is there to say, she is Great 👍.
Ahhh Classic Stevie...why we love you, my snow sister decades of New. Bold, innovative, Pure, Music. Thank you Stevie
