Credit must also go to the very underrated musician/songwriter/guitarist, ex-member of Fleetwood Mac, Bob Welch. RIP Bob Welch.
Best version of Gold Dust Woman ever. Stevie’s voice omg and all the instruments are wow.
@vintagelightman83 Hilarious comparison of the 2 , this intimate moment is a great departure from the stadium and arena sound and the best interaction with small and extremely lucky people that were fortunate enough to be in the ROXY on this special night . Love Bob Welch !!!! Oh Yeah , Thank U very little VL83🤐
Stevie in real life is a tiny woman so that strong voice makes you do a double take. She made it in a man's world bc she was talented af and nobody could deny it.
Stevie Nicks in her prime was one hell of a singer. What a performance! This is my favorite live performance of this classic. Great to see Bob Welch with his former band mates rocking out on this one.
This is the only song in history that has exactly the right amount of cowbell. Mick really knows how to take a cowbell and explore the space!
Well don't ask will farewell's opinion..hahaha.. like Saturday night live skit....with BLUE OYSTER CULT
Good Lord this is the best live version of this song that I've heard. Stevie's voice is powerful and haunting. How does such a strong voice come from such a tiny person? Stevie I give you a gazillion thumbs up
That small room did it. Acoustics and loving audience. It was all just PERFECT
@MargaretWilson YES 🙌 👍🏾 A GAZILLION X GAZILLION STEVIE IS A RARE BREED OF Talent, Intelligence, Grace, Class, and Beauty.
Best version PERIOD! I hate the one from the album now. This ruined it for me. 😆
She had complete control of her voice by this time. I also think this was her best vocals ever💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Stevie Nicks’ vocals are awesome here. The power and range is unbelievable. This is a classic performance and am so thankful that it was captured.
Stevie's voice without a doubt is
hauntingly familiar.
Best Gold Dust EVER!!
TRIBUTE to Bob Welch!🎸
They didn't forget!
RIP🙏
Imagine, just imagine, this song was released in 1977 and is still as powerful as it is today. An epic album indeed, this song from it as strong as it ever was and will álways be. Slowly my life is drifting to its end, but damn, was I lucky to live it with this kind of timeless music. Pure gold dust !
@@martinkatz3334 nothing like it and never will be. Love that woman and her music
I saw this live. The recording doesn’t do it justice. Still get chills watching it.
How was anyone sitting down during this? I woulda been up and dancing for sure. What a performance. Lucky you.
@@tracytharp1189 No doubt that the second I see Stevie is coming on stage with Mick and the others ......safe to say I probably don't have a voice the day afterwards 🙃
Oh, you are so fortunate to have experienced this live performance.
I don't spend a lot of energy wishing for stuff, but I wish I had been there too!
The raw talent on that stage is a universe above any garbage put out today. Her charisma is hypnotic, no female performer from today is even close! And this is not CGI, no lasers, tech toys, just instruments, microphones and talent.....period!!
And no autotune ! And especially no cell phones ringing or flashing. All eyes on the stage, not staring down at a FB post or a text from an ex. Did I mention no cell phones ?
She was absolutely fearless, graceful. She had a voice that sent shivers down your spine. She was spell binding . Stevie is the Queen of Rock and Roll...
I believe it. What passion for what she does. Her voice is everything to love❤️
Go far, Stevie. Go far…
You speak as tho she's left us, and gone to her maker... Stevie's Alive!
The talent on that stage is to be reckoned with. That's music those are called instruments people.
Watch this video all the time , it gets better each time I listen super classic Stevie
Yah, I always find something new in it each time I watch. It blows my mind.
I have been in love with this woman for over 40 years ❤️
Still is one of the most beautiful most talented artists in the world. Simply Bewitching.
@@DennisWassill Linda is a talented singer but Stevie has that stage presence and gravitas. And plus the fact that she writes her own songs!! D'oh!
SHE WILL ALWAYS BE ONE OF THE VERY BEST ROCK SINGERS
Stevie and Bob had a great respect for one another.
And that ladies and gentlemen is a fucking rock star! 🎸🍺
So glad that this was recorded. This is a defining few minutes in rock history. Stevie Nicks was mesmerizing. This is one of those cases where you have a most attractive young woman. She has stage presence, and her voice is unique. It's a rare occasion when all the magic combines, and it's recorded live...
She is my all time favorite female rocker! She IS GORGEOUS and SEXXXXY as hell.
I was so crushing on her back then. She and Mick made a surprise appearance on a Bob Welch concert that was televised. The way Fleetwood slipped in and took over the drumming without missing a beat and the look on Bob Welch's face when he heard Stevie come in on vocals. Around '78 or so, great times.
I think Mick just taught me what marching to the beat of a different drummer is and I love every minute of it.
Just a reminder that at one time people had talent
She sings like she's possessed. The album version is so tame by comparison. You can feel the heat from this.
Saw her in 70s. Peak of FM wildness. Lol. Take a listen to some 75-80 shows. Mind blowing. No one will NEVER have a presence like Stevie does on stage. Captivating, enchanting, hypnotizing, mysterious. And still has it at 73. My enchanted fairy god mother over 40yrs.
Her voice was out of this world
THIS makes me happy. True jam session that makes real, honest music where I can lose my pain, worries, and grief. I think of nothing but happiness when I watch and feel this. Watching Mick make sure the correct beat is happening for Stevie midway thru...To me... perfection.
Bob Welch is without question the unsung hero of FM.
WOW! When she steps up and starts to SING! A performance like this and the world is GONE.
I doubt this song has ever been played better than this!! Don’t see how !
I don't either. I've always really liked this song, but this was an amazing, organic performance. It gets into 'Kashmir' territory, so far as being hypnotic.
I finally got to see Stevie in concert in 2023. She put on a great show but man, to go back and see this in person.
You didn’t know it then but those were the best times in your life.
Just goes to show exactly why she is truly a queen. She's endured more than most RnR stars & found a way to overcome it with a helluva lot of style, beauty & grace. Love you Stevie 💜
Angela Barrett Dear Angela ❤️ your post Great to see Stevie Nicks touched your heart as much as she has mine to this very day you might not care but my favorite still is Leather and Lace ! First CD I bought when CD players first sold bought both! Lol
She is my idol . She is gorgeous and I loved that voice . I am a huge Stevie fan , even her solo album
There’s Never Going To Be Another ‘Stevie Nicks’ She’s A Diamond In ‘The Rough’...In This World Of Ours!
Haunting guitar by Bob Welch
An amazing performance from one of the most talented and beautiful singers the world has seen.
yea.. Bob Welch another one of these greatly underrated sorely missed geniuses!
OH MY GOD!!!!!! I CANT STOP WATCHING THIS!!!!!!!! HER VOICE!!!!!! SHES SO POWERFUL!!!!!!!! I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!
She is the bomb, forever my favorite female vocalist.
Stevie Nick's is the Gold Dust Woman. Always loved this awesome classic song.🎶
One of the best female voices of all time
Incredible performance...RIP Bob Welch.
When you go to a concert and the band plays even better than you thought possible. You walk out of that place with a deep respect for the talent you just witnessed!
Invigorating, inspiring, and thoroughly breathtaking performance. Notice how the stage is set with instruments and everyone is actually using them! Real talent, real music, just simply amazing. Xxx
Back when real music was created, not the autotune crap nowadays. Imagine Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, Patsy Cline or any of the others on autotune. I'd rather listen to alleycats in heat in an alley.
th-cam.com/video/0vp3db8031I/w-d-xo.html Why autotune sucks.
th-cam.com/video/bT9LUiWXkyo/w-d-xo.html The Fans Deserve Better. #autotuneblows
There hasn't been another voice like her. She can Hypnotize you with that voice. 😳👍
Compelling, brave, fragile, haunting, soulful, poweful and uniquely beautiful.... Stevie😍
Damn ........ just damn. I feel I've been elevated to a new level of rock wisdom now.
The Best Live version of the song, Stevie just Nails It!!! Mic on the cowbell and congas and Christie on the keyboards.
Masterpiece This was what my mother jammed to.i love this song holds true. Then I turned to grunge to this day I love all that bring me back to special moments
Mick as a legendary percussionist drummer, I love HIM!!! 💕💕💕💕💕💕
Stevie has one of the most unique voices and stage presence that I have ever heard or seen ... Incredible. I have followed her since her first album with FM. ❤️❤️👑👑💯💯
That Bob Welch guitar work is phenomenal.
Stevie has always had such a brilliant presence on stage but this era has to be THE best I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen Fleetwood Mac twice in U.K about 10 yrs ago,one without and then one with Christine in it….can’t beat these earlier performances though when their voices were like gold! Awesome!😉
No one can ever hold a candle to Stevie! Her voice and her energy is like no other u will ever c!!!
I had absolutely zero-idea Bob used to work so much with them after his 'fateful' exit in 1974. Wow. Stevie is like a cute little girl around Bob too, you can tell she really looked up to him. RIP Bob, Peace & Love.
Stevie TAKES THE LEAD and the rest just FEED off her ENERGY and it builds and gets more and more intense! AMAZING and POWERFUL!
That's all part of being a singer..being able to do that and keep the fans amped up💕💕 She is awesome, I couldn't do that! ✌️🌹🥰🖤💜🖤💜
Wats powerful is seeing her at her first opening concert overthrowing main band! Blew everyone’s mind with her beauty voice songs! Talk abt energy, you couldn’t be a more energized audience listening & seeing her. Now that’s powerful!
@@marilynlogiudice5511 Wanna see my latest video just loaded two minutes ago? th-cam.com/video/BHHBVFQFB0w/w-d-xo.html
@@blancamiranda7424 Hell, try and imagine what Stevie Nicks is like face-to-face in-person. I've talked with her in-person while in CA a few times.
One of THE best versions. Pared down with just the rawness. No frills. Just great
Stevie Nicks was a babe for the ages, so beautiful and talented. A classic for sure!
Amazing performance...👏 BRAVO!👏
RIP Bob Welch 🙏
Those vocals at her best. No woman can touch Stevie Nicks
Ann Wilson can but Stevie is unique. Rumors wasnt on the top of charts for as long as it was for no reason! One of the very best albums!
Really nice to hear this older rendition of Gold Dust Woman with some of the old band members. Thumb way up for this one!
My favorite performance of Gold Dust Woman ever. Stevie is the highlight here of course, amazing; she has never sounded better, and the band around her are incredible. Spellbinding performance
I loved this song, as a singer loved the unusual timbre of her voice, and her songwriting style. I loved her clothes and the way she sang her songs unlike anyone. And and I remember seeing this and knowing she was losing it somehow, and she says in later interviews how and why. But information reached us more slowly back then and time seemed different as well.
Even though her vocal range appears to be still working for her, it's as if I can feel her psychic fears of losing it, which she did.
Many of the comments here are coming from non-musicians and people who view Stevie as a pop personality, who they have an emotional relationship with because they think they actually know her. I'm hoping she reads mine so that she gets to the part where I say it would be awesome to hear what's to share from in there right now, because I remember in the beginning what was, and that is the truth and what shall ever be so and thanks for the all BEAUTIFUL music. 🎶❤🎶
Bob Welsh the forgotten man of the Mac legacy. His time with the band produced some great music.
My ex boyfriend Fred Allen Murphy and Bob had a group back in 60s called The Seven Souls. I met Bob in Santa Barbara with Fred and it was such a great reunion for them both. R.I.P. Fred and Bob.
@@Mr.EmeraldTheGreen Mine is "Miles Away"...but "Hypnotized" definitely ranks. When Bob Welch died, I put "Miles Away" on loop & listened to it for a while. His original "Sentimental Woman" with FM isn't too shabby, either.
Amazing performance. All the instruments involved is crazy and to be able to hear them all clearly. Totally badass! She could slay it with her voice only but just saying. Great music
My absolute favorite version. Bob Welch brought a different magic to this song and the energy on stage just draws you in. You can see they're all actually enjoying performing together.
They had a nice chemistry. Whenever Bob's name comes up during interviews, Stevie perks up, and really sings his praises. Even today, she has total respect for him.
An awesome version that you could only get live. Mick is a groove monster om percussion.
He was the best, I saw him in Tulsa on the french kiss tour, he opened for Heart June 14, 1978 amazing 🎅🏻🏴☠️🏔
@@Jgeneraledger23 And she's right. Bob Welch was the bridge between the early Mac and the Buckingham-Nicks led Mac. Just like Michael McDonald changed the Doobie Brothers,Welch was the preamble to the Mac we know now.
One of the most powerful, talented and beautiful voices in the business.
Wow she really belted it out sounding better live than on the album. She sounds great. 💘😻💜💛💚🧡💘
This aired on MTV in August 1981 I was still in high school and fell in love with her.
Back for another watch.. it's just so damn good. I even found this version to download onto my Playlist. So I listen daily and sometimes more than once. Stevies vocals are AMAZING!!!!
Vintage Stevie Nicks, What a Vocal.
This is my favorite version. I love the end when she says "They never let me play Gold Dust Woman that long, ever! Thank you!"
Stevie has been able to also do alot of duets with some of the world's top perfomers!! You can see their admiration just as we see her and she truely just pulls you in to whatever she performs! Stevi we luv ya and enjoy yourself for you have earned it!!
I wonder how many Stevies are out there right now still waitressing because they never believed in themselves like Stevie did.
LaVidaLocaHomie I am one of them lol - I do a helluva great voice imitation of her - and actually have autographed poster of her and pictures of her she gave me - to this day I can’t believe it - she’s my fav singer.
Best version ever of this song
Watching this performance and remembering my mom had her same hairstyle. Mom went and had it done because Stevie was her absolute favorite female artist. It’s all she would play in the car. I’m 48 yrs old now, but hearing these songs instantly takes me back to my early childhood memories and this was the beginning of my love for music. Oh the memories of the parties my parents would have, lol. Crazy shit
My wife still styles herself , stevies way. And looks good! 60 years old!
And that folks, is how a live performance gets done properly.
It’s almost 2022 and Iv just fell In love with stevie amazing artist
She's powerful singer....
I loved her since highschool basically
What a treat to hear this live Stevie Nicks performance!
Wow....Bob,Mick and Stevie was really enjoying this performance ...outstanding.
Absolutely beautiful then and now.
Her voice makes you stop and pay attention.
Of the many versions of this song available out there, this is the best. No disrespect to Lindsay Buckingham, who is an impressive guitarist, but his style on the album is a distraction to the pure energy this song possesses. And it took former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Bob Welch to bring it out. Christine McVie, who is heard but not seen adds that impeccable harmony to the vocals. Unleashing Mick Fleetwood from behind the drum kit to contribute cowbell, bongo and the occasional stolen cymbal crash from the drummer's kit is brilliant! Of course, there is Stevie. This is her song and possibly her signature song. No one else could deliver like this. Even the mix is just right, especially considering it was hardly a formal recording environment. Well done and glad this has been saved for posterity.
Stevie was the bomb back then, but so were we all LOL.
...she still is... and, in a very special way, we are all still as well... except for shorter Bomb 💣 fuses sometimes...🎶
Long Live Musical Journeys Galore 🎶
Remember Nazareth? So small a club, their tour bus in the alley right out back. As they took the stage, front man says HI, HEY I BET YOU REMEMBER US AS TALL, AND GOOD LOOKIN'
(in their Scottish accent)
I was fortunate enough to see her in person a few years ago and she still sounded the same! Awesome then and still!
wow . . . . what a fantastic version. Just incredible combination of voice, instruments and timing . . . massive talent on that stage that night
Her voice still sends chills down my spine. An exotic powerhouse packed into that svelte body.
Been to see FM over 20 times dating back to the late 70s and this is by far the best version over Gold Dust I've ever seen without even the whole band. Something to be said about a good old fashion jam session in a small venue.
Stevie Nicks, what a voice, what else is there to say, she is Great 👍.
Bob Welch ..RIP and miss ya thanks for all the great music, times and now memories
Her royal highness, queen Stevie 👑❤️👑🌹👑
This is so timeless go this woman can go on forever as long as I'm concerned her voice possesses myself what can I say God I love me some Stevie still listening May of 2021
She infused every line with such emotion, passion and unique voice ...at every performance. Genius
This one's definitely going in my Stevie Nicks file. Her unique voice and soulful presence are mesmerizing. Happy to have found this. Thanks to whomever recorded it!
I worked for KY-102 in Kansas City in the late 70's- early 80's. I was backstage after a show and Stevie was there working the room. At one point, she came up to me and said a few things. I froze. She giggled and said.....man, you gotta loosen up.....I don't bite. As the band was preparing to leave, she came up to me again and gave me a hug and kissed my cheek. Some things you never forget.
The most awesome female singer to have ever graced the stage..... Beautiful
Emmy lou harris as I've heard said b4 could sing the phone book and make it sound good
Ok there is nothing better then this out there... just played this 4 times in a row.
You should watch the whole show.

Bob Welch and friends live at the Roxie. Everyone from Fleetwood Mac except Buckingham appears at one time or another. Great show
I was still in Spokane Washington when this was being done I left the us in 82 for Germany till 85
God I loved the 70sand the 80s so much excellent music and those concerts. Nothing like today's "music " or is it? Anyone with a computer and anyone can have a hit. These musicians had to work to make it work . Thanks to all the bands from the 70s 80s real music.
Mick is making love to her with his eyes....what a sexy performance!!
They did it for real.
THERESE SMILINGMOON it's beautiful to witness such love /lust ☺
We can't blame them ;)
THERESE SMILINGMOON Mick was in love with her & took her in.
Sexy he is NAUSEATING!!! And with those disgusting balls hanging down. But this is a great version of the song!!!
