I replayed the original Metal Gear this week for the first time since probably 1999/2000 (I played it about 50 times back then!) But I completely forgot about this sound! I can’t even explain what I felt when I put the disc in an old Playstation and heard this! I was immediately transported back to my youth with goosebumps all over my body! An incredible feeling!

I'm sad to say I didn't grow up playing this sound when it came out but I did have older brothers with amazing tastes in games so I was lucky enough to have seen and wanted to imitate them and wound up falling in love with my favorite game series of all time. This is my ringtone for phone calls. I barely hear it, but it makes talking on the phone a little more bearable. I've seen Androids with the Codec set-up too....
