    I burnt up one of my tungsten rods cause i hooked up the hose to the front of the welder and not straight to the tank ! 😂😂😂😂 i was like “man tig welding sucks ass”! 😂😂. There was no gas coming out of the tig handle 😂. I was trying to form a puddle and it was sparking and doing a crazy arc ! But now i know to hook it up to my 100% argon tank and I’ll be good !! I’m so glad i watched this video thank you for showing me ! Man that’s a beautiful arc ! My arc would not stay lit just sticking to the material lol .

    Very comprehensive video. I am starting my TIG journey today with the same welder (very happy with it BTW) and your video was exactly what I needed. Would like to have seen some of the welds for reference but all in all an excellent video. Thank you very much

      To weld aluminum (ac) would u just plug in everything vise versa like how it was shown since it was for steel ??

  • @Queensburian

    The ADAPTOR!
    I was wondering why I wasn’t getting gas… and why the TIG port would not fit. I ground the slot fitting down to make it turn (likely not a great idea). It “worked”, but not well. I’ll have to look for the adaptor and hope it goes better the second time.
    Thank you.

      I have this same welder and i did the exact same thing lol😂! No gas was coming out even though it was hooked up to the gas port on the welder . I’ll just hook it straight to the tank next time .

    Great comment about if you can’t get the parts out of the box, you’re not going to be able to tig weld.
    Good video. I have a 220 but haven’t used it for tig because I have another tig machine. However, it was nice to see the setup

    Appreciate the video! I don’t believe mine is working right, mine tries to start an arc with no pressure to the pedal, I’m checking all the boxes off but I cant seem to figure out why its doing that or if I’m doing something wrong. Im contaminating my tungsten every time and I’m getting a little annoyed :(
    I certainly cannot do what he did in the video where he just drug the tungsten around with no arc, if I put my tungsten down *without* the pedal pressed it starts to glow hot. The machine says “tig with pedal”, all cables correctly hooked up, proper gas and flow..just can’t figure it out and I really don’t want to have to return it :(

    You know, the price on the '220 has gone up enough that by the time you get the HF brand torch kit and pedal, you could take the same money and get an Everlast PowerMTS 211si multiprocess MIG/TIG/Stick welder that has lift start, HF start, a built in gas solenoid valve, pedal, torch kit, better duty cycle and a 5 year warranty.

    • @iainportalupi
      @iainportalupi  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Doug Elick yeah, HF seems to be razing the prices on a lot of things lately to where it makes sense to buy a better brand for not much more, sometimes less, money. I’m afraid they are forgetting why people shop there, take their new grinders for example, if I wanted to pay DeWalt prices I would buy a DeWalt that has a proven track record, a 3 year warranty, and a network of service centers nation wide. If I was to buy this again at the current price I would go with the Everlast.

    • @iainportalupi
      @iainportalupi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it could with the spool gun but I wouldn’t do it. The heat form welding softens aluminum around the weld and depending on the alloy the wheel can loose a lot of strength.

      I just bought mine(03/23/19) for $899 with a coupon. It also has the 20% off coupon in the box.
