    Thanks for this info! Your welds look great! I have been thinking of picking up the Protig soon and your videos have been helpful, it seems like you have the best info on this welder. I own the Omnipro 220 and it’s a great welder I bought it back in the first month they first came out about a year and a half ago, zero problems so far, I also bought the Titanium 200 ( the new green multi process welder HF sells) it works quite well for a $650 welder! I didn’t need two multi process welders but I also make TH-cam videos and I really thought it would be fun to make some videos comparing both of these welders. Anyhow I definitely have needed a AC tig for some time now and I think it’s time to get one. Ps what Mic are you using? It sounds great. I run the Movo VXR 10 but it really drops off if you step away from it. Take care :)

    You could possibly anneal that copper tube before it starts to work harden on you. Heating it up to 700 degrees F with a torch and letting it cool will anneal the copper and soften it. I know they’re only ten bucks, but if it will save it from breaking that’s money in the bank.

    Mike, I purchased the GLS Fab 2 pack of cups from you and was under the impression that I was buying the white unbreakable cups. What I received was the pink ceramic cups. I'm not happy. Can you exchange them? Thanks

    • @MonkeyFabGarage
      @MonkeyFabGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wondering why you thought you were getting the white ones. They have been out of production for years and all the pics on my website are of the ceramic ones. Just trying to fix it so others domt make the same mistakes. If you’re ever not happy with something you get from monkey fab, just send it back. Only restrictions are one year and custom made to order. Thanks

    The Omnipro and other HF welders are good, but the MIG whip sucks, I’m waiting on my new one from the same supplier you got the TIG torch from. I don’t mind the TIG torch but I’m thinking about upgrading the torch, pedal and ground from usaweld as well. They’re longer and seem decent.

      This is a tig only machine. If you don't need AC tig, look at the Omni Pro 220. The OP 220 is a multiprocess machine that can do DC tig, mig and SMAW (AC/DC stick).

    Hey man I’m in the market for a good drill press for my metal fab shop. I seen in this video you have a drill press but I couldn’t see what brand. Do you have any recommendations on one that won’t break the bank?

    • @MonkeyFabGarage
      @MonkeyFabGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Uncensored American I never use my drill press. 99.9% hand drill. I was shocked when I started working at a fab shop by how little people used the drill press. Just get good with the hand drill. By yourself a center drill bit and a punch.

    • @RustBeltFab_
      @RustBeltFab_ 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s how I always was. I hand drilled everything. I bought a little junk drill press and once I started using it I loved it. It just doesn’t have enough ass for the thick metals. I get where you are coming from tho. My hand drills are stronger than the little drill press I have. It takes awhile getting over the hand drill mentality. 😎👍🏻 Once I did tho it’s super easy to just pull the lever on a drill press. 😂 Love your content tho. I just realize I’m answering you on my non Fab TH-cam account. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Keep making these great videos. I’m just looking thru your older videos after stumbling onto your channel. 👍🏻I appreciate you taking the time to get back with me.

    The Vulcan torch has a knob to turn on the gas when you swap to the flex head how to you turn in the gas?

    • @reaperreaper5098
      @reaperreaper5098 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The ProTig models don't need the torch with the knob. The terminal you connect the torch to has a gas port that feeds directly into the torch and the machine controls gas flow.
      The knob torch is only needed with the OmniPro, because it doesn't have a gas port in either terminal.

    • @MonkeyFabGarage
      @MonkeyFabGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Mike, thanks for the great vid.. I have a Miller 165 MIG welder and some basic welding experience, but really wanting to get into TIG welding for so many reasons (hello, aluminum!); is the Harbor Freight Vulcan ProTIG 205 a reasonable and reliable starting point? I do a lot of automotive welding where it would be nice not to throw sparks all over the place, and burn through thin body sheet metal.

    Dude, you present good information, but your presentation is terrible! BUY A CLIP-ON MIC! You start out talking directly into the camera, then you turn around and mumble to yourself, then you bang parts around. I have to keep my cursor on the volume control and constantly move it up and down to be able to hear what you're saying!
