You are so Creative & imaginative! You also seem to have great places to find the vintage items. Ditto machines were so cool the smell could make you loopy. You wanted to be picked to go make the copies in school!
These are so neat! Wish I lived closer for your show. Starting to get ready for mine in the fall, think I might try some of this kind of journal. My boys are ready to get rid of lots of books and I know what I'll do with them!
These are wonderful! I am inspired! My kindergarten class made a cookbook with ditto pages (we each drew a picture of the meal). I made new copies and distributed to my friends that were in the class in our adult years. The phase "ditto!" as in "me too!" comes from this technology. Can you recall the smell? I almost can. A newly printed stack was warm when it arrived. I really appreciate that you distributed goodies between books. Very nice!
I so admire the originality of your jj's, especially fond of the binder ones. I wish I were closer to go to the craft fair. Please take us along and share your booth with us! Sorry I missed these, already gone, I'll be looking forward to more on Etsy in the fall.
These are fantastic!!! You have yourself a lovely summer. I'll be anticipating your return this fall. Your process videos will be my summer entertainment 😜
Oh my goodness!!! Gina your a genius:) that first vintage album with the waterfall pockets is SO unique, I absolutely loved it! I'm so sad its already gone - I wish I lived in Kansas city lol! I wish you so much success on your craft fair and with the start of the school year 😊
Nazy, I wish you lived in KC, too! Can you imagine the fun we would have???? Thank you so much for your love. I'll keep my eye out for another waterfall photo album just for you. xoxo- gina
So much ch inspiration Gina! I love all the details and so much variety of paper and ephemera! I recently found some cookbooks and hope to get one set up soon, inspired by yours of course. Love them all!!! Tfs 😊💕
Hi Liz! I am knee-deep in cookbook obsession right now. I am excited to hear you are on the bandwagon with me. Can't wait to see what you come up with. Thank you!!!! xoxo- gina
Wonderful books! I wish you all the best for your show. Enjoy the rest of the summer with your family because it will be back to the rat race before we know it! Blessings, Helen
Love your binder journals you shared today. Love all the elements you add. Great job! Good luck on the show. I'm doing a show in Aug but it is inside! lol I don't do outdoor shows unless it is going to be under 80 degrees. lol Look forward to seeing your next project.
Hello Linda! I hear ya about the under 80 degrees. I melt in the heat but I couldn't pass up this venue. Thank you so much for your sweet words. Best of luck to you on your upcoming show. xoxo- gina
LASummer Yep. I got on at 6:04 and it was gone. Oh, well! My birthday is coming up, so I think I'll send my hubby over to the shop and let him pick something out for me 😁
I am new to this art form...you may laugh and I will not be offended:). I don't understand the concept of junk journal. I have been a decorative painter for over 40 years and would love to learn how to work in this form of mixed media. Thank you so much for your help!
Hello Carol. I would never laugh at that question. Its very valid. Junk journaling is a form of mixed media, collage, journaling, painting, scrapbooking, etc rolled all into one glorious process. There are so many different versions out there. If you google 'junk journal' you will get millions of hits. For me, junk journaling is about using discarded papers, books, ephemera with my photos and memories to help tell stories. Its a spin-off of my old scrapbooking days. The best part about junk journaling is there are NO RULES. Anything goes and it is all about the fun process and letting your creative juices flow. Feel free to check out some of my other videos to see how I interpret this art form. th-cam.com/video/FRDeTGJn8GY/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions. xoxo- gina
Gina, I love your creativity and style. Can you tell me how much you charge for your journals and how you determine the prices? My favorite was the cooking/recipe book that had the wrapping paper cover with the blue and pink umbrella/children. I tried to get on that night at 6 but couldn't find them so figured it was too late. Keep up the beautiful work....Thanks, Whitney
Bill Cox hello Whitney, thank you for your kind words. I am sorry you weren't able to purchase one of these. I'm hoping to have another collection later this fall. These journals ranged in price from $48 - $58. I price my journals by taking into account several points: time, labor, materials, etc. Xoxo- Gina
Hello Becky. Thank you so much for your kindness. I adhere paper to covers with lots of mod podge. I use Elmers Craft Spray Adhesive when backing papers together. xoxo- gina
when you get your inventory set for this strawberry swing craft fair can you show us all what you are taking like you did for the previous one you did? Please :)
When you are adhering paper or cloth to the cover of a book or binder what do you use? I'm having a hard time finding a glue that won't warp or crease the paper/fabric or pull away from the surface once dried. Thanks!
Hello! I do use mod podge and gel medium...it really depends on the surface. I sand the covers first and spray a clear sealant afterwards - Rustoleum. Happy creating. xoxo- gina
I'm making my first two mini-binder (3 ring binders, but 5 1/2 by 8 1/2) and they have PLASTIC covers, so I'm wondering what I should use to cover up their plain covers...
Yikes! Plastic covers are very tricky. I don't have any solutions because paint and glue don't usually do well. Let me know what you come up with. xoxo- gina
I just looked. This one wasn't plastic...it was some kind of other material. However, I DO have 2 plastic ones. I think I'll sand them BEFORE putting my covers on them!
They are all so lovely! Where do you find the time to decorate so many and upload videos? Sounds like you are going to be really busy from here on out. Do you get excited about school starting up again or are you sad that your summer is over? I don't look forward to school starting because I miss my kids when they are there. Good Luck with the craft fair and try to stay cool out there :)
Hello Lovely. Well, it just so happened that my entire family was gone the last two weeks on various trips. Just me, the dog, and cat at home...lots of ME time and time to create. I'm in power-mode right now because my free time is dwindling. I adore my summers and I LIVE for the weekends but I do love my job. I love my school babies. But, I totally understand how you would miss them when they go back. If I wasn't a teacher, I'd feel the same way. Thank you, always, for you conversation. I enjoy talking to you and hearing your feedback. xoxo- gina
Would you happen to have any extra of the girl wrapping paper that I could purchase from you? I'm in love with it and was wanting to buy that book just for that paper lol
Hello Danyelle, I totally understand the love you feel for that paper. It's delicious. I don't have enough left to sell. But, if I ever come across a package of it, I will absolutely let you know. xoxo- gina
Hello, my love. I am sorry but they sold out really fast. I'd be happy to let you know when I have them in stock again. Thank you for your interest. xoxo- gina

Gina, what did you use to tack down your material on the front and back of these notebooks? Mod Podge? Gel Medium? And, finally, do you seal yours?
Hello! I do use mod podge and gel medium...it really depends on the surface. I sand the covers first and spray a clear sealant afterwards - Rustoleum. Happy creating.
