I totally love all this chatter and the video here about the different books, and the binder books in the previous one. I love seeing what you did/are doing, and hearing all your thought processes, and the telling of where all the papers came from. I'm addicted!
Hi Gina. I was starving for some of your delightful chatter and watching you journal and this one popped into my view. What a delightful surprise. So I hope you get this note. I hope you and all your family are well, and maybe come summer we will wee more of you again. Love Trills.xx
Love, love, love seeing a new jj video by you. The craft fair inventory is fabulous, something for every kind of junk journal-er.I hope it works out for us to get a peak at your booth set up. Best of luck on Sunday!!
Thank you so much for all the info. I'm in MA and I've been invited to put my journals in 2 artists shops. With out me there no one will know what their looking at because, as you said, most people do not know how awesome these books are. Also, the wallpaper.... I got some 1980s wallpaper and you're right about them being kind of vinyl. Now I know what I'm going to use them for. Can't wait to see your set up at the craft fair and I wish you the best of luck on the day.
Hi Patricia! I totally agree with you about having to be present so that you can explain your journals. I have had offers to put my books in stores and declined for that very reason. So glad you got some inspiration for the slick wallpaper. Its too pretty to waste, that's for sure. take care xoxo- gina
I LOVE my "Bambi" book! It was such a pleasure meeting you today. We absolutely love your work and can't wait to see you and your goodies at the next craft show. Sarah watched your video and saw her "mermaid" book on our drive home 😁
Gina!!!....lovelovelove....your videos have sparked a part of my creativity that has been pushed to a "back burner" for such a longlong time..... I can now...thanks to your awesomeness...use up my (ahem) horder piles of papers and scrapbook supplies..etcetc..... Your inspiration is outstanding... I cannot say enough praises..... I wish you the BEST of luck & prosperous sales this weekend....and always....thank you!!! #lovesweetlove
You are TOO kind! I am so happy that you have rediscovered your creativity. That is the best feeling, for sure. Thank you for your sweet comment. You put a smile on my face. From one hoarder to another...Happy creating!!! xoxo- gina
Gina! I love, love your channel! I have been binge watching you for all last weekend and came home early today and jumped on YT. Girl, you are so creative and can see so much out of everyday items we often throw away! Love it! I am so inspired by your techniques and use of all the items you incorporate in your journals. I have made many journals ( I have a channel) but have not tested my ability to dig deep into my soul and create like this. Hats off to you my dear, in my books you are JJ queen on YT! Hugs, Trudy
Oh Trudy, your words are so kind. Thank you! I love that you are getting some inspiration. I blame my grandma for my frugalness - she was always saving and re-using items. I loved that about her. Take care, sweet friend. Happy creating! xoxo- gina
Oh my days! Amazing, I am so in love with the Alice Journal and am so gutted I am in the UK! You are an amazing artist, I love them all. xx Thank you so much for sharing xx
Hello Tracie! Yes, that Alice journal is so darn juicy with journal goodness. If it doesn't sell, I'll let you know. Thank you so much for your kindness. You are a doll. xoxo- gina
Ah that would be awesome. I have been a big fan since I was a little girl, that and Wizard of Oz. Hope it goes well and I am sure you will sell loads xx
Wow, Gina, I am so inspired by your creativity. New ideas every time! I have passed up the internal-spiral cookbooks at the thrift store several times and now need to go back for some! I like those smaller book sizes, too. Am also a fan of altering children's books, and keeping the stories intact when possible. Besides as photo albums, I think they would be a fun place to glue in young children's writing papers and artwork. Also Thank You for sharing how you explain what these books are, and can become. Great idea to show a before and after, and especially what you've done with your own journals! I am making some altered book journals for gifts and think your marketing ideas will be very helpful for "selling" them to my baffled friends and family members! Good luck at the Strawberry Swing Craft Show. I can't make the August 6th show, but am hopeful for a future trip. Do you plan to participate in one of Kansas City's Christmas craft shows? --Pam
Hello Pam. Thank you for your kind words. I love hearing that you are making journals as gifts. You have some very lucky friends and family! Yes, I have done the Strawberry Swing Christmas Show before. This year's show is on Dec 10 at the KC Union Station - a venue I love. I haven't applied yet so I'm not for sure if I'll get accepted. I'll let you know. xoxo- gina
Wish I was there. I would soak up all your sweet energy and load up on some gorgeous books💖💖🦋 Wishing you huge success. Thanks for your sharing ways of enjoying our own processes with junk journals😘
Gina, I would love to see a video on how you store all of your papers, you have such a great variety in your journals. I get so easily overwhelmed by too much fodder. Good luck this weekend!!! Lisbeth
Lisbeth Kelsey Hi Love. I would love to do a room tour but my room is sooooo small. I'm gonna have to get creative with my filming. Thanks you for your sweet words. Xoxo- Gina
Good Luck at your craft show! I wish I could go to it. I love craft fairs. You have lots of wonderful creations I hope you sell them all. God Bless you and yours...
Oooh! Looks like such a fun & beautiful assortment of journals!! Love hearing about your show experiences. Your booth location sounds ideal for this one! Yay! All the best to you at the show, Gina!! ❤❤❤
Oh Faydra, just saw the forecast - 80% chance of thunderstorms! AAARRRRGGG! Thank you so much for the encouragement. Fingers crossed it stays dry (and NOT windy). xoxo- gina
Your books are so out of the box and amazing. I know from doing craft fairs and events with Creative Memories when scrapbooking first got popular about 20 years ago that you do have to do so much explaining and showing! I can so relate to having to say the same thing over and over and over again😃. Good luck at the fair.
Thank you so much for this information packed video! I have been thinking about selling things I make at craft shows, but am lacking confidence. Your video answered a lot of my questions and it was great to hear some of your thought process.
It's been less than a year since I discovered junk journaling, so I know what you mean about people not knowing what it is. Your golden books are awesome! Recently I purchased some at a library sale for 15 cents each. I also got some 70s read along Disney books that come with small records. Have you seen those before? The thin cookbooks are super cute!
I'm coming to KC on the 20th to see my dad and to catch a good view of the eclipse...Argh I'm so sad that I'll miss the craft fair! I know you'll do great and have a wonderful time! =)
OH, I CANT WAIT FOR THE ECLIPSE! Definitely worth the trip and its so awesome that you'll get to see it with your dad. thank you for your sweet words. xoxo- gina
Hey there Mits! Thank you for your encouragement. I just checked the weather - 80% chance of thunderstorms. Oh well, guess I'll be selling soggy journals. xoxo- gina
WOW!!! You have a very creative mind. Love love love the way you put these books together. I hope you sell every single book plus more. I'm going to share this video and your channel on my Facebook so that others can see your books. Thank you for sharing. You left me breathless. Blessings to you and your family.❤️❤️❤️
I wish I lived in the Kansas City area!!! Good luck on your show though Gina! The small cookbooks were my favorite! I was really drawn to those as you were showing them, and I think those will sell well for you. Best wishes!
Another fantastic Video! I'm wondering if something like Liquitex Clear Gesso would work as a first layer on the vinyl wallpaper? I use that brand for certain things because it's so "gritty" but even when dry, it is not completely clear. Just a thought. Thanks for all that you share! You are a wealth of knowledge!
Ahhhhh Gina! They are so lovely and oh my 65????! You are a gem! People would love to see them!!! I wished I could go ;(( too bad I can't afford a flight ticket... anyway best wishes to you! Have a great time at the fair!
Wow, Gina this is an amazing beautiful inventory!! So much fun and such a variety!! Your flip throughs are magical ... it's like paperland heaven and quite mesmerizing for me : )) I love EVERY one of these books you've created and wish you all the best at the craft fair. Having a corner booth makes a lot of difference, but your work speaks for itself... even to those who don't have a clue what, how, why a junk journal. Have a great time!! XoXoRenee
Renee, every time you find the nicest things to say! Every. Time. Thank you so much. I feel so happy that we've gotten to know each other, even if its just through a keyboard and screen. xoxo- gina
I've started making these binder journals you showed at the end. I'm not a journaler myself but I LOVE, love, love making them. Like you I am a lover of all things vintage paper...especially 50s and 60s. Anyway, my question is...I know you say you get a lot of your stuff at estate sales. I haven't been to any (yet) and have buying my used books mostly on Ebay and some aren't that cheap. Can you tell me how much you spend on these binder cookbooks/handyman books? I'm not really sure what a good price is for these. Also, I never seem to get to your Etsy store before they are gone but I was also wondering how much you charge for these binder type journals? Thanks so much!
Thank you, Diana. The Strawberry Swing Show is Sunday only from 10-5, on the North lawn of the Nelson, right next to the Bloch building. Hope to see you there! xoxo- gina
So exciting to see your new journals! There absolutely gorgeous! I do wish you lots of sales this weekend, but I also secretly hope that you might have some left over that you might put in Etsy after your hiatus😉...best of luck!!! 😃🔆
Awesome video! Love all the new journals❤️ love the little cookbooks, great size 😉 it would be pretty cool to be able to do a craft fair, I don't think we have many around here, just around Christmas 🎄 time we have a huge one, something to look into I guess. Have an awesome craft show Gina!
Oh my goodness! I live in KC. Where is this craft fair at? I would love to come and look at your journals. BTW I am your Golden Books twin lol. I have a ton and when I use them always keep them in the journal. I'm making one for each of my kids with their favorite childhood book for Christmas! AND I lOvE wallpaper lol!! This is by far my FaVoriTe video! I love how you did the binding on the cookbooks, I have those too and didn't know how to alter the spiral binding. Awesome idea!
Hey KC girl! The show will be on the North Side of the Nelson, right next to the Bloch building. 45th and Oak. So happy to hear you love LGB too! Thank you so much for your kind words. Hope to see you on Sunday! xoxo- gina
Ohhhhhh, I wish I lived close by...my birthday is next month and I will be gifting myself one of your journals, hehe! Good luck on your fair, and I think showing them what you can do with the journals is a must have. How long have you been prepping for this fair? I really need to do this, I have an obscene amount of paper, hehe! Look forward to hearing all about your fair!
Hey Lori Girl, Happy early birthday! Thank you for your sweet encouragement. I have been getting ready for this one, hard-core, for about the last month. Craft Fairs are so fun because you get to meet people and share what you love, in person. To me, that's what sell the journals - teaching and talking about them. YOU WOULD BE GREAT AT THAT! xoxo- gina
I just love your journals! I've been binge watching all your videos! You do such great work! Quick question though, when you re-bind your golden books (that don't have the complete story) what are you using to make the spine? Do you use chipboard or just a thinner (cereal box type) cardboard? I'm interested to know. Thanks!
Hi and thank you! To make a new spine for a book i use a couple of layers of bookboard or chipboard. I want them to be thicker than cereal boxes so I layer them or use a thicker board. xoxo- gina
Love, love, love every single journal! Wish I could come and buy each one! I really love the golden book ones that you added a spine to because I love that thickness. Do you just find a book that is the size you want or make your own spine out of cardboard or something? And what an excellent idea to show some of your completed journals. Before I found your channel, I had seen videos of making junk journals or smash books and I thought the were cool, but thought "what in the world would I do with it". I have become obsessed since finding your channel. :)
Debbie's Journals what a sweet comment! Thank you. For the spines, I try to use what is already there but for the LGBs I just used some heavy bookboard and made my own. Xoxo- Gina
Wishing you great success at your craft show! Do you ever run into anyone questioning about permission to use/sell items with Disney covers etc for example or illustrations used in these stories? I think this is a wonderful way to recycle these books and all the others that you do to make them usable/wanted again.
Thank you! Great question. No, I haven't had anyone ask. I just look at it as - these books were destined for the trash and I am just trying to make them usable again. But, I guess others may see if differently. xoxo- gina
The Denmark one is gone. Do you have an Etsy account? I can send you a pic of the other one, to make sure it is the correct one, then we can complete the transaction from there. If you would contact me through a convo I can send you the pics. therebookery.etsy.com
I don't do digital printing either! My husband won't allow me to download them. PERIOD. END of discussion. (He's a computer geek and is terrified of me getting a virus on my computer...)
I totally love all this chatter and the video here about the different books, and the binder books in the previous one. I love seeing what you did/are doing, and hearing all your thought processes, and the telling of where all the papers came from. I'm addicted!
Thanks Peggy!

Wow! Sounds like the jackpot. Yes, I know exactly what those books look like. Had many of them growing up.
Your journals are suck an inspiration to me. I bought 2 binders at out last book sale. Can't wait to start decorating them!

Attach a good copy to the back with a piece of elastic.

I was wondering how much the single signature books are?
How many pages do you generally put into your signatures?
It depends...but I never do more than 9 or 10. I like to allow a lot of room for 'junking'.
Do you tell them about your TH-cam channel?or anyone else's? or do you tell them to get on TH-cam and look?
Yep, I tell them about TH-cam and I make sure they take a business card.
Would you be willing to sell me one and ship it? I live in Oklahoma and I'm in love w a couple ❤️
Hi friend. Yes - if i still have them. Let me know which ones and we can work something out.

TheReBookery i love the teal with the girls holding umbrellas, the umbrella print, the denmark wrapping paper.
The Denmark one is gone. Do you have an Etsy account? I can send you a pic of the other one, to make sure it is the correct one, then we can complete the transaction from there.
If you would contact me through a convo I can send you the pics.

I don't do digital printing either! My husband won't allow me to download them. PERIOD. END of discussion. (He's a computer geek and is terrified of me getting a virus on my computer...)
These are not made by NASA 😂😂😂😂
