Thanks so very much for posting this video. I've wanted to watch this race for the longest time because I never saw the '84 trials. Would love to also see the 100 & 400 if you have them. Great vids!

Look at the consistency in FloJo. Even though she didn't win, look at how she always starts slow, then picks it up. It's very clear that even here, she peaks at a faster pace than the other runners. In 1988, I think she simply learned her majic and trained very hard to improve her start, etc., and even in 1988, her start was not the best. I think it is very possible for her to have not been using drugs; her speed is very clear here...I would have loved to see Flo Jo running in lane 3.

All those ladies are so beautiful to watch. I love Flo Jo and I never believed any of the cheating rumors. Wilma Rudolph remains one of my personal heroes - wow, she was such an inspirational story.

No one is saying she wasn't a great runner. She was up amoungst the best for years. But when she broke that world record, it came out of nowhere and was by a hugh margin. No one who followed Track and Field could have believed that she did that without drugs

Yeah, but, look at how hard she was training leading up to that year! I mean, training all day and even after midnight? Plus, look at her coach...probably one of the best coaches ever. The times she was running before was without training; it was her raw speed, and she was still world class.

The Los Angeles Coliseum is in Atlanta?
And don't compare the farce that was those 96 games to the greatness of the 1984 Olympics in L.A.
That same venue in Atlanta was a temporary track on a baseball field, for gosh sakes...

C'mon dude. You're stretching it here. Anyone who's ever run track knows she was doping. 21.34 Tells the story
