      @pawe😂😂 She's very polarising, isn't she? Love or hate. It might be amusing to watch her, but I wouldn't want to be stuck on a yacht (or anywhere else) with her. I find her rude, passive aggressive, condescending, and generally not a pleasant human. Technically, she is excellent at her job, but she plays games and that does not make for a calm atmosphere amongst the crew. loodak1952

      Yes, thats why they get $27,000. In a tip, but you only see each one of the 7 crew members get 1,000.ish dollars. They are definitely splitting between many more unseen crew members.

    • @blond2282
      @blond2282 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've noticed the tip, say $25k, is divided by 11.5 to get the amounts given to each crew member during the tip meeting. Don't know why, someone says, "Our tip is $25k, thats $2,180 each." Wonder if a half share goes in the kitty? We are missing some aspect of it, for sure.

    The first season I watched this show I was fascinated by what the staff has to do in order to provide premium service and make the boat operate. However, very slowly it has all slid into the sewer and it's quite often like Dancing With The Stars. The dance doesn't matter it's how much T and A they can get away with showing.
    Who is screwing who, how much sexual innuendo, jokes, harassment can we fit in and not get bleeped. Who is sleeping on who or under who and who is going to do a lap dance? It's not so interesting any more. They never show what a captain does except shown in profile looking intently into a piece of computerized equipment, eating with the passengers or saying good job crew for getting us in/out of the slip/docking area. About the only one still of any interest is what the chef does.

    Kate’s explanation is painfully vague.
    Do the charter owners pay the crew an hourly wage, and is it “sub-minimum” due to being paid tips?

    How is the tip calculated??

    • @fakiola9184
      @fakiola9184 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      JerseyLoveee last years rate for a chief stew on a 70’ to 100’ vessel was $48,,000 to $52,000. The rate continues to increase dictated by the size of the vessel up to a 190’ where the you can expect anything between $82,000 to $90,000. The tip is often bigger the bigger the yacht too to be fair. The tips you see on Below Deck are low in comparison to the real world because these people who hire the boat have already had the fee reduced down to $100,000 and most of them appear to reduce the tip also despite the crew doing exactly what the would ordinarily be doing.

    You know, if you've been watching any chinese cartoons recently, you'd know that there's lots of ships.
    I find this odd, cause I could watch a show like Nichijou, and fans will rave about all the ships in the water, but I only remember one scene where a girl swims in the water.
    Whereas, there are gondolas everywhere in Aria the Animation, but not much talk about ships.
    I really don't know what these zoomers are talking about anymore.
