*UPDATE #2* In the video I said that the back buttons do not work in Windows and that is not true, you simply have to map them using the software from 8BitDo’s website.
*UPDATE* After doing some research it is normal for even Hall effect joysticks to have a small amount of stick drift especially if you are doing small movements, this is because of the springs that bring the joysticks back to center as somebody else has commented.
So what is your path now? Will you use it with stick drift or repair it?
@@calisci7652 Well technically there is no repair it is just how the joysticks work
can i overclock it to 8k polling rate?
Just looking for a new controller for SP games on PC. seeing the video i think this is good enough? Not looking to spend upwards of 60 bucks on a new controller and i can get this one on aliexpress for ~30 euros
yoo bro i have the same exact controller as you the white hall effect version and i had stick drift in my left stick because it has allot of plague and i fixed it by just factory resetting the controller and its all fine now so maybe you can try that or you can try disabling zero dead zone hop this helps
yo bro mine had stick drift and i fixed by factory resetting it so maybe you can try that or you can try disabling 0 dead zone hope this helps
I tried this and it fixed it for me too
Fun fact: thanks to the 2.00 update, it now has bluetooth. I just got mine and my only gripe is that it doesn't have gyro.
Oh that’s cool definitely gonna update my controller now
Does yours work with windows?
@@kvCrag yeah
it only has gyro in switch mode and they cant add bluetooth with a update so you are have the bluetooth model.
@@TheChameleon2008the bluetooth was enabled with the 2.0 update. it’s to be used with apple devices
drift is probably because of stick springs.
Is it possible to use this controller on Android *without* the 2.4g dongle? I mean by just using bluetooth...I am considering this controller but the info on the internet is just confusing...
getting mine in 5 days max so maybe hmu here in couple of days
@@zillaxx how did it go? did you manage to update the firmware and try it on android/switch? do they need the dongle to work or will they work with just bluetooth
its not a stick drift it's a recenter spring issue
The back buttons don't work in windows?
Not natively, maybe there is a mod or something
@@FilledWithChi11 Not very useful for PC players then...
@@AdvancedGamingYT Its still a solid controller, pro controllers with back paddles are very expensive.
@@FilledWithChi11 Eh there are plenty of alternatives, but I think I'll keep using my official Xbox series controller for now. Nice review by the way.
They work but you need to map it via software once
Back buttons work totally fine on PC....
How do you get them to work then
@@FilledWithChi11 Load up the app. Map buttons to the rear buttons. Sync the profile to the controller. Close the app. Make sure profile is selected on controller.
By default they aren't mapped.
I had already ordered these because of the hall effect joysticks. I have seen many posts saying that there is no chance of stick drifting with Hall effect joysticks but now I have seen this video and how is this possible? Are they liars? And excuse me, my last question is; If the hall effect is also drifting, why did they turn the alps into a hall effect, thank you in advance.
I literally have no idea, I was also under the impression that drift wasn’t possible, when you get it let me know if you have the same issue.
I bought 2 for steam deck, but can i use them for nintendo switch? If so how?? Tyvm for the help
@@FilledWithChi11 ok when the gamepad comes to me i will tell you if it is drifting or not
@@laurentszuniga8244 without any equipment it is impossible because there is no bluetooth in this version.
My theory is that the Joysticks are never perfectly centered so a mini deadzone is necessary since the Hall Effect sensors are just so good at detecting micro-movement
For people who want the lower latency of 2.4 gig, better compatibility with more devices and don't care about switch, , this controller is better than the Bluetooth one.
Switch Pro controllers are pretty great so that's a wash for me.
Plus more analog trigger uses.
Calibrating hall effect sticks should eliminate drift using the mobile app. If it doesn't like in your case I would send that controller back because with zero Dead Zone it shouldn't really happen. If setting the dead zone to 1% gets rid of it then okay keep the controller are there any more required is a no-go for me and it's not my experience with these controllers
Hello, do you know which controller has lowest latency cable wise?
