he may have had a downfall on a competitive level, but it seems like Costa's the happiest and content he's ever been now. Running his own gym, being a businessman, training fighters, at peace with himself.
Paulo understands and accepts humility in a game where minor setbacks can cost guys their sanity and peace of mind.
Agreed! He's got nothing to prove on a fighting level (After Romero) and seemingly lots of ways to make money without destroying those looks.

I love how his personality is coming out now. I think he's hilarious and I'll always tune in to his fights because he's extremely talented and exciting to watch. Just because one doesn't get the belt, does not mean that one won't reach a level of greatness.

Delusional? If anything Paulo has more fans than ever right now and that’s mostly due to his social media game. He shows up in every fight, (minus adesanya) and is always entertaining and hilarious, with minimal English I might add. If anything it speaks to his star power to see him take huge missteps in the eyes of the fans, yet redeem himself so quickly. I don’t care if Paulo even comes close to a title again, I’m tuning in every time.

He shows up every fight? He was offered Whittaker and didn't want to take that fight. Blachowicz and other fighters were offered and calling him out. The guy has skills, but wasting his prime. He fought 5 times in last 5 years.
@@EugeakaEugene I think you misunderstood what I meant. He “shows up” meaning he turns in good performances. I do agree about the lack of activity, he definitely should have cashed in and fought multiple times a year, definitely wasted some potential.
The only point I’m making is that the dude has a massive fan base, regardless of any fuckups, lack of activity, or not taking specific matchups. The guy has some real star power, even if he somewhat squandered it.

I saw Romero vs Costa live and I can’t begin to tell you how fucking chaotic it felt watching two gladiators tear each other apart in there. The crowd was electric as hell the entire time.

I actually believed him about the wine because I had just gone through something similar and when you train hard and eat right then over drink sugary wine it makes you feel like you're dying sapped of energy and no strength. He was fucking smashing everyone in the division until Izzy did him dirt nasty in the octagon like a professional but I get it, nervous and stressed he's human

I started as a Costa hater (probably envy that it’s possible to be that handsome and ripped, tbh) but I’ve grown to love him and his character. I hope he continues to have success in the UFC. Glad he’s making some money now (not enough, like 95% of UFC fighters).
He’s gotta start winning, that’s his problem. His next fight in July is against Aliskerov. Aliskerov is gonna wreck him.
Costa took the fight thinking it would be easy because Khamzat beat him. Costa is in for a huge shocker. Aliskerov is one of the best trained by the best.

Can you do a direct comparison between ONE FC and UFC cards this weekend? One was a Pride esq awesome show with almost all finishes and spectacular fighting ability. The other was mostly frustrating decisions and robberies and low level fighting skills.

I always see this but I think it's unfair to compare cards, seeing as One has had crappy cards and the ufc has had bangers. It's just the nature of the sport. Not every card is going to be good and that's for both promotions.
