Chris you are a beast. Love how you didn’t even flinch pulling it out. I was just saying how there hasn’t been a flathead or bowfin video all summer. Glad to see you kicking it back to the old days.
What you gotta do is make sure you hold the hook eye down as you yank it out. Also, make sure you carry a good pair of split ring pliers with you and take the hook off of the bait.
I did the same thing on the SAME day. I was fishing a tiny crankbait fishing for white perch in Annapolis and yanked too hard to get it off a dock. Right in the knee cap. Way less painful than in a finger though
I cringed too! I completely snapped my ACL and tore off a few chunks of my meniscus on both sides of my knee cap. complete ACL reconstruction with meniscus repair..You yanked that Hook out Like a Boss!! Fish on Brother be safe!
Did the same thing last year, changed out my hooks and the same day got attached by the thumb to a mad striper. Took nothing to sink in, the tiniest pressure. Jerkitty yankitty pop, no other way sometimes.
Hooked myself in the thumb w/ a weighted treble snagging bunker back in May out in the kayak. I think, hopefully there isn't a next time, but next time if you hook yourself with a lure it is easier to take the hook off the split ring first and then try the popping out technique.
Been there done that...it made me laugh like a mofo seein your first feeble attempt and that "owch"... priceless...thank you for making me understand why my homies laughed so hard...
Damn bro you’re all over the place aren’t you?! Way up north then way down south and everything in between or every place in between! Right on man! Right on! Oh damn, you’re suppose to hook fish not yourself! Wow!
This exact same shit happened to me up at the CT River during a tournament. Same lure and all. There is so much meat around the knee cap, it hurts so bad.
You got huuuuuuge balls man. I hook myself on the finger by a small sharp hook. Luckily the barb came out and all I need to do was cut the barb and done with.
That has happened to me twice. Not in the knee. But once on my shoulder after the lure got loose from a bluefish i was reeling in. Luckily the hook went all the way through and all i had to do was cut the barg and pull it out. And the second time the i was putting on a hook. And when i went to tighten the damn knot. The hook slipped and went right into my inner palm. It was half in my palm and half out. I had to pull the rest of the hook through so as to have it come out the other end of my palm until i could pull it completely out. When the hook set in and while i pulled it through my palm, it didn't really hurt so much. But after about five minutes that sucker burned like a SOB.
I watched a doctor get a lure out of my buddy's palm before. He pushed the hook through the skin again & cut the barb off. Then pulled it back through. Damn that looked like it hurt.
Memories here of taking a hook out of my finger a few years ago when I had to push the hook thru to cut it. OMG! Thought for sure I would pass out. I’m going to assume you caught one of your tendons,(RN here). Would totally advise against using river water to cleanse a wound when you have bottled water available. Hope the tetanus shot is up to date. Anyway, all your videos are awesome. thanks
Hey man I know exactly where you’re at, great bowfin spot at the first bridge there. Me and my buddies go there all the time . Maybe one day we could link up and go out
Oh shit! Literally like 10 minutes ago I removed a treble hook stuck in my little brothers head. He got stuck with two hooks, and i had to cut them off and push them through. Luckily I'm a vet student and my parents are doctors so we just did the whole procedure on the couch.
Remove the hook from the lure or at least take the other hook off. Push the top of the treble towards your skin so it lifts the barb. wrap the braid around the shank and whip it out. It helps if someone else does it for you lol. Ive done this about a dozen times. The pier is a warzone lol.
Oh and to remove a hook although that was a treble hook you need to apply a good bit of pressure on the shank first to release the barb then pull hard and fast also remove that second hook first so you don’t get hooked by that one just a lil FYI you had the method right with the line to pull just left out the important part good luck on the next time
I used to be a kayak fisher like you. then I took a whopper plopper to the knee.
Lmfao tbt
Huge balls for trying that braid thing... never hooked myself in the knee, but i had one go straight through my finger
Chris you are a beast. Love how you didn’t even flinch pulling it out. I was just saying how there hasn’t been a flathead or bowfin video all summer. Glad to see you kicking it back to the old days.
Gotta press down on the eye of hook. Comes out effortlessly. I thought you were reaching for a bandage but no it was a zoom fluke..lol
What you gotta do is make sure you hold the hook eye down as you yank it out. Also, make sure you carry a good pair of split ring pliers with you and take the hook off of the bait.
Oh man that's terrible. The whopper plopper had some crazy hooks. You are an animal, no way I could have done that!
Wait, wait, wait, hold everything! At 1:54 please tell me that was a dog on his back and not a human's feet!!!🤣🤣🤣😂😂😁
Wow man i could see your hands shaking! You handled that like a champ!
I did the same thing on the SAME day. I was fishing a tiny crankbait fishing for white perch in Annapolis and yanked too hard to get it off a dock. Right in the knee cap. Way less painful than in a finger though
Holy crap man that sucks. Your rock solid.. I would be yelling 911!! Lol..I bet you will watch the knee from now on..Great video.
Nice videos!
All the best,
Jimmy Willis
Dude I feel for you bro. I can’t even watch this all the way threw without taking a few breaks.
I cringed too! I completely snapped my ACL and tore off a few chunks of my meniscus on both sides of my knee cap. complete ACL reconstruction with meniscus repair..You yanked that Hook out Like a Boss!! Fish on Brother be safe!

Wow man I'm glad u got that hook out of your knee dude leaking pretty bad.My dad did that but his neck somehow fishing sucks when u get hooked
You’re a good man Charlie Brown.
Bowfin or not, another excellent video. Other than the copious slime they're an awesome looking & fighting fish. Ever catch any Pickerel down south?
Ok. I take it back. That was in there and you handled it like a bad ass!!
Shiners work well on Champlaine in VT for Bowfin.
Always fun watching your vids. I like how you don't let a hooked kneecap get you down. Id have been like fu k this im out.
The most bad ass angler ever.
Dude that's gnarly as heck!
Dude I know how bad that sucks. Philly strong!💪
Chris to much lol at least you got back to fishing . Have a good day and stay safe
Been there done that...it made me laugh like a mofo seein your first feeble attempt and that "owch"... priceless...thank you for making me understand why my homies laughed so hard...
I love Tenzen "How's that feel" lol
well that made me cringe !
ouch that must suck bro. Btw, those water looks mighty familiar, especially them bridges ;)
Jimmy, should've known you'd know them! Need a bowfin vid from you!
heeh i probably should try to get one up here. i have gotten one from florida a while back. just a terrible video cuz of wind noise O_o
Ugh. I've caught them in NC but not up here. Would love to though. Such an underrated species to fish for. Phenomenal fight.
for sure man, it's interesting how there isn't many here. They were introduced here, never flourished like the snakehead did.
They introduced here? I thought they were native.
Damn bro you’re all over the place aren’t you?! Way up north then way down south and everything in between or every place in between! Right on man! Right on! Oh damn, you’re suppose to hook fish not yourself! Wow!
ahhh the good old shit i hooked myself lol. You are a trooper Sea-Money
thats definitely a pain you have to experience to comprehend!!!! been there done that!!!!
Had a brand new bucktail in the pad of my thumb way past the barb last month. It was not fun.
I used to be a fisherman like you until I took a treble to the knee.
This exact same shit happened to me up at the CT River during a tournament. Same lure and all. There is so much meat around the knee cap, it hurts so bad.

Gnarly hook set, bro! Whoa....
Remind of why I stop being cheap and bought a hook cutter lol. But damn bro that was funny when u failed pulling it out
I watched a doctor get a lure out of my buddy's palm before. He pushed the hook through the skin again & cut the barb off. Then pulled it back through. Damn that looked like it hurt.
Listening to mobb Deep makes you tough. That’s crazy mayne

Damn u stayed pretty calm wit them treble hooks in u
Props Chris, that looked nasty
Hardcore, Chris!
Yeahhh go out there and get sum Chris!!!
Hey bud looking to head up to the cannel this weekend do u have any advice or tips u could give me. Thanks a lot Marc
Gotta apply downward pressure on the top of the hook and it would pop straight out easy
First a nail thru your foot when walking barefoot in a lake and now this! At least you know the hooks are sharp!
Hey man I know exactly where you’re at, great bowfin spot at the first bridge there. Me and my buddies go there all the time . Maybe one day we could link up and go out
Gotta love it, I’ve caught a few out of that ditch. Most people don’t even think there’s life there
“How’s that feel?” 😂😂😂😂
You handled that like a man!
Dude I got my tomb tying a 5,o hook. It felt weird but I grabbed my fishing pliers and yanked it out
Took a deep diving crank to the collar bone once, did more damage trying to remove it than it did going in
9:44 what song were you whistling lol? Sounds familiar
Gnarly! Way to take it like a fucking creature. Keep up the quality content, man. Thanks for teaching us all so much!
A good case for barbless hooks.
Oh shit! Literally like 10 minutes ago I removed a treble hook stuck in my little brothers head. He got stuck with two hooks, and i had to cut them off and push them through. Luckily I'm a vet student and my parents are doctors so we just did the whole procedure on the couch.
Savage!! good job man
You have to push down on the shank of the hook when you pull it out. Don’t pull down using the lure you have to hold the hook by the shank itself
i chuckled a little bit, damn !
Were you at John Heinz wild life refuge fishing the other day???
"I know what to do"
-rips hook sideways and drives it in deeper"
Man!!! I was gritting my teeth so hard, like I was feelin' your pain. Shit...
“Youre a fucking animal chris, an animal!” Lmfao
All I can say to that is DAWG.. DAMN BRAH LOL
Damn bro i felt that... it felt like someone kicked me in my nuts...watching your first attempt 😂😣😂 good vid as always👍
That was metal af
You should try a jitter bug in one of your videos.
Right idea, went about it the wrong way. Funny stuff though
Remove the hook from the lure or at least take the other hook off. Push the top of the treble towards your skin so it lifts the barb. wrap the braid around the shank and whip it out. It helps if someone else does it for you lol. Ive done this about a dozen times. The pier is a warzone lol.
"it was in somthing!!" oh my god so funny. Fuckin trooper...
2:25 is when he gets hooked
Thought making deer trails dismorning I messed up. Putting my hand into a thorn bush... well I was wrong after watching that👌🏼
I'd probably just take the hook off the lure and worry about it when I got home.
Oh and to remove a hook although that was a treble hook you need to apply a good bit of pressure on the shank first to release the barb then pull hard and fast also remove that second hook first so you don’t get hooked by that one just a lil FYI you had the method right with the line to pull just left out the important part good luck on the next time
quick rip with pliers.
Is that glenloch in nj?
Is that Big Timber Creek?
"we gotta bleeder" lmao
You have to push down on the shank of the hook while you pull it.
Hey did you take down your canal videos?
Ouch that really sucks. I feel for you
i did that last year in the finger with a 6'' yo zuri deep diver that was a trip to the hospital
yo-zuri's are the worst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2:25 is what you came here for.
I believe you have to push down on the hook then you yank it out
Jonah Peck I subbed for you bud good luck
Daniel Na yes that is what I've seen, thumb down on the hook firmly then pull out like you tried.....
best way is push it all the way through the skin then squash the bard and pull out best to do it while your in shock!...
Flathead friday!
"Sea Money here. Yeah........hook in the not knee. Not good. Yeah.........this spot looks fishy though. Lookin fishy. Yeah........."
Yes, just cut the hook off and let it rust out. Be sure to eat lots of sale during the rust out period.
Sea money: 4:9 ouch!!!! are you okay?🐟🤟😯😯😯😥😲, 🤬 damn hook!!
you need to continue the motion of the hook til lthe barbs comes from the other side.. then u cut the barb and take out the hook
Isn't a first aid kit supposed to be on top of fishing trip list??
where was this at
what swamp were you in?
Dang you ok dude
At least it wasn't a giant Yo-Zuri.....those things are sharp as fuck!
whopper plopper has mean hooks
“Oh wow” how does it feel ? 😂 damm man , then you go to pull it and say , that’s not how you do it ...
You had the right idea but you didnt commit to the yank
Rambo style 💪💪
