This is probably the best most well rounded, detailed and informative food review that you guys have done this year. Love the variety of foods you selected, but I would have added Larb (chicken, lamb, raw-beef, shrimp) since that's my favorite Thai dish. Good review guys! It's almost lunch time. Guess what I'm going to have?
Thai food is soo good! My favorite is Tom Yum Soup, but i've also tried Crying Tiger, the stuffed meat chicken wings, satay chicken, pad see ew and pad thai.
yeah I agree! I remember we were on vacation and my thai cuisines and friends came and then they made sushi and pad thai and that was delicious! sushi is japanese tho but the pad thai was delicious
6:05 to clarify, actually we call it "Crying Tiger" just because it's so yummy but tigers don't have a chance to eat them because we people eat them all. and when we grilled meat the fat falls down just like tears fall down.
I'm part Thai, Lao, & Chinese and my favorite Thai food is Yum Woon Sen with sticky rice. Traditionally it's not eaten with sticky rice and it's not usually a spicy or overly sour dish, but I love mine extremely spicy and sour. I could literally eat it everyday. It's a hidden gem and not all Thai restaurants put it on their menus. Some thai restaurants only have Pad woon sen which is not the same as Yum woon sen. "Pad" = stir fried and "Yum" = umami sauce and "woon sen" = glass noodles (mung bean threads/cellophane noodles). So if that's the case i always ask if they can make it for me and usually they oblige. So if you've never had it please try it, it's so good it'll make you say "yum" lol.
@oneviwataraHere is a little background on myself. I was born and raised in the USA. Even though I am American by birth, my DNA and the way I was raised is ethnically Asian. I am a mix of three different kinds of asian ethnicities like it says in my original comment. In my comment I say that I'm part Thai which is why I think I can educate you about the word "pad" in which in Thai means stir fry or stir fried. Thai has to be translated into english phonetically because it is a tonal language and does not use english letters. In english the closest phonetic spelling for the Thai word "stir fry or stir fried" should actually be "put" pronounced like in the sport of gulf. For example "putting green" or "I will use my putter to hit the golf ball" not like the other english would "put" like " I'm going to put you in a classroom". I know for a lot of people english is hard to understand especially when the words are spelled the same, but pronounced differently and mean something else completely. So unfortunately "pad" became the universal spelling of the Thai word "stir fry/stir fried" on Thai menus around the world just like the other menu word "larb" (it is actually pronounced laab. It is not spelled phonetically in english properly either). So in english "pad thai" actually translates to "Thai stir fry". If you do not use proper english sentence structure (subject, verb, object) then the words broken down to the LITERAL translation of "pad thai" would be "stir fry Thai" or "stir fried Thai". I believe that is what you meant to say. The words for "rub" and "scrub" in Thai are completely different from the word for "stir fry".
Honestly thank you guys for the in-depth review and eating of Thai food. I have grown such an immense respect for the food and I’m in a mission to try them all, sadly i was one who would go only for pad Thai lol but now i know!
When I read epic 7 I thought of the mobile gatcha game. Anyone else or just me? 😂 The Thai food looks so delicious in this video, I love how they try many different dishes! Craving for Thai food now 😍
I love how you guys highlight and respect the different types of cultural cuisines in the world. Looking forward to your traveling videos again. I'd love to see you guys travel to Africa or Brazil when safety allows. Much love and respect.
As a Thai with having the foods daily, it is so honored to see you guys love Thai foods. A bit surprise for me that you chose Pad Kee Mao over Pad Thai. It means you prefer spicy flavor. Besides stir crab meat fried rice, all the fried rices on the vdo clips are not that popular in Thailand though. We just order pork, prawn or crab meat fried rice.
Stuffed chicken wings. i am addicted to those. had a Chief of mine in the Navy retire on Guam and he and his Thai wife opened up a Thai resturant and we helped with the painting and odds and ends construction on the inside and they use to pay us in thai food,,,,i fell sooo in love with her stuffed wings cause she used the clear glass beanthread noodles in hers and omg they were to die for.
kaonieaw mooping (BBQ pork with sticky rice), Pad Kaprao Moo Kaidao(Stir fried pork with fried egg with rice) .both are the common dish in Thailand like Hamburger in the US. we eat this when dont know what to eat
In Milwaukee we have a restaurant called Elephant Cafe. They make the Crying Tiger so good compared to others spots. Other spots, they usually just have the sauce as a side dip for the steak, but at this place it's like they pour the sauce all over the steak, so it's similar to a salad dish or larb or something. But it's just so unique & much better than other places I've had it where they just had the sauce as a dip.
Pad Kee Mao is like Thai gumbo--just everything you have in the kitchen thrown in together. IMO it's too much. But to choose between Pad Thai and Pad See Ew... oh man, it depends on who makes it. In their best forms, they are both excellent dishes.
I feel 95% of Thai food in North America are not authentic. I have yet to find a Thai restaurant that serves authentic Thai boat noodles, Tom yum soup with the giant river prawns with head still intact, egg and oyster omelette, etc.
thats every restaurant in a foreign country save a few where the majority of customers ARE from there. i had mexican food in vietnam and it was.. OK but not great
I dare you guys to come to Thailand and taste the authentic food. North, north eastern, east, west and south all the regions has deferent kind of food and taste. By the way, love you guy work. Keep it up.
David and Andrew, I really like the last backgroind music. Everytime I watched your videos looking forward to that background music. Is it ok to use that music to my videos. Thank you
what a nice american fusion thai cuisine. Hard to find some of those here in thailand. Tom kha, gaeng panang and gaeng som pla is my fav ! i go crazy whenever my mum cooks them
Good review!! 😀 But I’m kinda sad you didn’t do any curry dishes ...panang and coconut curry! Also...you should do dessert mango n sticky rice and rambutan 😔..lol or maybe I’m just hungry. 🤣

I will join you for some Thai food. Oh yeah!
That’s Lao food
To be sure Larb is Lao food
Guys, Thailand(especially the northeast part) & Lao are neighborhood. The food and language there are almost the same.
You mean the Issan part where it use to be Laos but now is Thailand that why the food and language is the same.
As a Thai people I'm glad y'all have explained how y'all feel about Thai food
Wanan Chaisuresri in Australia, more pad Thai is sold than Big Macs.

Thai food is soo good! My favorite is Tom Yum Soup, but i've also tried Crying Tiger, the stuffed meat chicken wings, satay chicken, pad see ew and pad thai.

6:05 to clarify, actually we call it "Crying Tiger" just because it's so yummy but tigers don't have a chance to eat them because we people eat them all.

I love Thai food! Boat noodle soup is my favorite!

Yes.
Can be called Americanized Thai food or westernized Thai food.

Don't have a favorite Thai dish man. There are too many. Y'all haven't even scratched the surface yet. Hope there's a sequel to this one!
The stir-fried that throwing across the street isn't Pad-Si-Eew, it's stir-fried morning glory( called Pad Puk Bung Loi Fah).
