Hey fung bros. I've been a fan of your channel for a while. I was just hoping you could give this new cover song a listen! It is an up and coming artist and she is a personal friend of mine. I just really want to help her get views on her song. I really would appreciate this! Thanks guys! Your fan, Ignacio th-cam.com/video/dHxSTwNwt38/w-d-xo.html
This is why I love to watch Fung Bros... they manage to turn this quarantine into a win-win situation where they get to make their profit with good video content all while supporting local businesses at the same time. ☺
I lived in Thailand for 6 years and I crave authentic Thai food. Everything you guys ate looked mouth watering delicious! Gotta go there soon! Loved the video!
Yayyy you guys finally did an episode on one of my favourite Asian cuisines!! All the food looked so good and authentic, gotta check out Thai town once the quarantine is over!!
Awesome video, made me so hungry! love Thailand, though I"ve only been exposed to mostly central style Thai food, now I want to try northern and southern to! I live in Seattle where you guys are from originally, but our International district doesn't have as much Thai restaurants as Thai town sadly. My favorite Thai food as of now that I've experienced would have to be Tom Ka Gai and Green curry, also love Thai Tea but have never tried Thai coffee, now I guess I'll be ordering that next time I get some Thai.
Omg!!! That’s my favorite Thai restaurant in LA!!! They have the BEST THAI BOAT! (I was waiting for you guys to eat that) 😭 I live 3-4 hours away and EVERY SINGLE time I am in LA... I have to get that Thai boat for lunch!!! And the little Thai snack store have the best desserts! Love the panchi aswell !! Can’t wait to go back! Omg
I love thai food. My mom is from central/northern thailand and she makes soo good thai food. Pad thai ofcourse and laab/larb and som tam. And ofcourse yaam(sallad)
My food dictionary of thai food is quite few but after watching this video it's now getting elevated, btw.. ryan, i always like the way of how you translete the taste of dishes u eat, i think i have now become one of your fan, good job ryan, david andrew, fyi, i've been being a fan of fung bros since 2015, it's never changed so far
You guys have really opened my eyes to the fact that different countries have different regional cuisines, just like here in the US. I know that should be obvious but it’s hard to recognize when you don’t have experience or instruction with what you’re eating. Thanks!
Hahaha. As a Thai I’ll never know how Padthai got to be our national dish because its just like what you said. Thai people will only eat Padthai like once a month when pad ka prow in the other hand is a thing we order every week... I can count the times I order padthai in last 1 year with my one hand and confusingly its our national dish.
Been waiting for you guys to do Thai Town for decades! Thai town was much better before - the 90s was the high!! All the old uncle/aunties are slowly retiring :(
Pad see’ew in Thailand, they use the short noodles because they usually eat with spoons and fork, not chopsticks. Thailand/Laos use bird’s eye chili, which is a lot stronger than the usual chilies you can find in any other cuisine. They don’t use 2 or 3 chilies like other cuisines, they don’t remove the seeds. “Mild” Som Tum has about 5-6 chilies in Thailand/Laos. In the US or Canada, it’s half a chili or just one chili for mild. In my cousin’s restaurant, based in a predominantly white neighborhood, they just put the tip of the chili!
the best kanom krok taste is when it just come out hot from the pan, trust me. The coconut cream center will be super soft and dissolve on your tongue.
NE faves: Som tum, Nam Tok, larp moo with sticky rice and a plate of veggies and herb leaves. Southern: jackfruit and dried fish red curry, matsaman chicken curry, Kanom chine noodles with ground fish curry and khao Pat gapi: shrimp paste fried rice with sweet pork and pineapple. Also, plug for Mekong Market in Seattle for ingredients and Vientiane market/deli for authentic Lao/NE Thai take out.
Born and raised Bangkokian right here! Super happy to see you guys trying Thai food! Would love to show you guys around the city if you ever decide to visit. 😉 I absolutely love your videos! I dated a lot of Asian Americans and we enjoyed watching your videos together. Keep it up guys! 😂
Beside Thai Town, you guys should also explore North Hollywood for great Thai food. If you have a chance to do this again, please properly feature Isan food. Northeastern Thai food is entirely different from Northern Thai food. Also check out the food court and outside stalls at LAX-C near China Town if you want authentic with less compromise than restaurants in Thai Town.
Awesome! Thanks for this. My favorite dishes when I've been there are grilled pork neck at Thai Spicy BBQ, it's the best-grilled pork neck ever for me and grilled prawn Som Tum. Still miss it, after going back to Thailand.
FYI... 1. Crab sausage in Sounthern food part in the clip isnt Southern food at all. It's Chinese-Thai food that was invented in restuarant in BKK back in many decades ago. 2. Fish cake is also originally a central Thai food. 3. Esan foods that are represented nowadays and famous are Esan BKK foods not the authentic ones. The taste and ingredients are adapted into a harmonised subtle version in term of taste and presentation. I think it can be called Esan fushion food.
You should try Som Tam (papaya salad) it's an issan cuisine . It's also one of my favourite thai food too . And it's one of the most popular food here in Thailand.
Excellent video that really showed the contrasts well for the time used. I didn’t catch the name of that last place you were standing if front of at the end, thanks
Y’all missed out on Ruen Pair’s tropical Papaya Salad. It is zee best I ever had. However, the Pad See Ew from Pa Ord Noodle, which you guys didn’t get to try, is so much better than the one from Ruen Pair. Must try Pa Ord Noodle next time you go to Thai town in LA. It is very spicy though!🔥😋
I am from the North... If you tried their local foods, you will definitely change your mind, central Thai foods are more sweet, souther more sour and spicy..
Thai food in general, and Thai street food in particular, is soooooo unbelievably good! My wife is Thai (I am a VERY luck man!), and so I know the real deal. She's from Rayong, which has the most amazing seafood. Here in the US, if you want Thai food, you should go where Thai people eat. I think I need to make a pilgrimage to Thai Town this weekend and just eat myself into a coma.
OG YT FUNGBROS lets go Muchas gracias por todos tus videos especialmente las UC stereotype video.. very helpful in picking a good school. My bros and I all transferred.. into college. Anyway cool to see ur latest vid! Love ur reviews! Hapagirl
Pad kee mao is THE BEST!!!! So delicious. Can you guys do a video on Pacific Islander food? Super underrepresented and delicious. Chamorro food from Guam (my island) is...chef’s kiss!
North Eastern foods are more closer to Laos food. They share some similarities in language and culture .it's 50/50 with northern too for culture in some area.

As a Thai, I love this video a lot. I love that you contributes the viewers the real variety of Foods in Thailand. It's every different by regions.
3:42 reminds me of an Odia dish. Crazy how you can find these unexpected cross-cultural similarities in food!
As a Thai-town addict and Thai person myself, all the local spots were on point.
Yayyy you guys finally did an episode on one of my favourite Asian cuisines!! All the food looked so good and authentic, gotta check out Thai town once the quarantine is over!!

the common dish of Thai people is “Pad Ka Prow” which is the dish that Thai people think when we dont know what to eat.
Desperated food 😆😆😆 i love it anyway.. recently i discovered Pad Ka Prow something with ripen mango 🥭.. that's insane 😣😖
Hahaha. As a Thai I’ll never know how Padthai got to be our national dish because its just like what you said. Thai people will only eat Padthai like once a month when pad ka prow in the other hand is a thing we order every week... yeah its very basic in my opinion
Oh... You are real Thai. Hahaha
พึ่งกินเมื่อเช้าเลยครับ😂

Would be a funnier episode if all three were eating 6 feet apart on separate carhoods 😁
Lol

omg, sticky rice with banana is my fav!!! My mom used to make all the time and I haven’t found a restaurant that makes it. ☹️

I really liked the khanom chan at Bhan Kamon Thai. I think it might be a Vietnamese influenced dessert but the Thais definitely do it better.
No social distancing between Ryan and the Fung Bros ?
That's what's up! Big thumbs up!
I am from the North... If you tried their local foods, you will definitely change your mind, central Thai foods are more sweet, souther more sour and spicy..
Glad u guys like Thai food :)
Hope u guys come to Thailand and taste the real Thai food and review it again 😊
My favorite region is Isaan plus that’s where my wife is from. Needed some peanut sauce for the chicken satay.
Thai food in general, and Thai street food in particular, is soooooo unbelievably good! My wife is Thai (I am a VERY luck man!), and so I know the real deal. Is Northern Thai food similar to Laos food?
Paying Attention Since when did Thailand share the border with China?
Steins Gate It has a glimpse of it but not as much as the North Eastern one.
I'm originally from the Northeast region of Thailand. Food, language, culture are among many things that we share with Laos.
Nathaniel Tyler I stand corrected. Apparently not paying attention.
North Eastern foods are more closer to Laos food. They share some similarities in language and culture .it's 50/50 with northern too for culture in some area.
I love Thai food!!
Why didn't you try Som-tam
open yo mouth
Som tam is one of my favorite sallads
For khao soy, I prefer laos style. I like savory food, more than sweet.
