Welcome to the RUNE WALKER Arcanist Build for The Elder Scrolls Online. This build is a simple Magicka Focused Heavy Attack build, utilizing the Lightning Staff for damage while incorporating the Arcanist's powerful debuffs to burn through enemy health pools. Yeah that’s the only issue I have with this build. The beam is going to be essential for me and it seems it’s not going to work with the heavy attack build. I guess we will see when the chapter launches.
@@timkenawell7864 you dont need to run a heavy attack build to make oakensoul work! My 299k in vateshran was maining the beam all day. 299k is a really good oakensoul score, especially without a heavy attack build

I love the idea of runic magic so I'll be giving arcanist a try, see what kind of build I can throw together. no tentacle spells/skills though. There is no force in existence that can make me use those abilities.
It’s weird how deltia said “heavy attack builds on arcanist is impossible” even tho it’s clearly not I run this build and it does great damage and ads a little variety from being on a sorc main for a solo build
the 5 slot Sergeants Mail bonus, I'm not really sure how you get 4 stacks of something lasting 5 seconds when it takes more than a second to hit with a heavy attack. I'm sure there's some sort of animation cancelling magic trick going on later in the video but I made this build and if I hold down left mouse button until heavy attack goes off, it's not going off 4 times in 5 seconds.
Each time you heavy attack the buff refreshes, so you just need to heavy attack once within 5 seconds to maintain it

This class just looks incredible. Honestly I haven’t played much ESO the past couple years because of the constant shifting meta and endless class changes. It left me not really enjoying any of the classes.
The Arcanist simply looks like a game changer. The visuals and sound effects are perfect and I can’t wait to try. Got to give ZOS props here. They really went all out in making this class
but do you really think anything will change with the points you pointed as negative? Its all the same but a new class. we all hyped but we also all know after a couple weeks this class is just in this game as any other class.
only reason I don't play anymore is cause of horrendous ping.

They said they like how new players can lean in heavy attacks to get a foot in the door for trials they just don't want them to our perform a light attack rotation so if they nerf it, I doubt it will be into the ground. You just won't see so many people running it. Mainly new players and those that like that play style
This build is on the pts.. as in post nerf.. he literally talks about the nerf in the first few minutes

Hey hack ty for the post and appreciate your time testing it's appreciated. I dunno why some people just hate the 1 bar builds. One of my casual guilds (much older people) wanted to raid and some indirectly forced into healing or tanking due to issues with weaving. The 1 bar builds the main tank and heal retired their toons to play dps and they love it. Two things hack, can you test the 1 bar sorc, I am curious to see if the buffs they got negate the heavy attack adjustment. Secondly, can you test the mythic that reduces light attacks/heavy to 0 and buffs everything else. Thank you again Hack.... Appreciated 😊
I'm not into scrying.. on your fate lord build it think it's called...what can I use in replacement of Velothi Ur-Mage’s Amulet or Oakenring until I can get those? And do I need daggers that drop from the blackrose arena or black rose from the imperial city? Not sure which one it is lol.
Can't wait to see what people make with the new mythic Velothi Ur-Mage's Amulet. Adds 4968 Offensive Penetration. Increases your damage done to monsters by 15%, and Critical Damage to monsters by 15% but reduces your Light and Heavy Attack damage by 99% Few folks on the PTS think it will be best in slot for the Arcanist, but i think they are ignoring that it applies the damage bonus only to monsters and it is my understanding ESO classifies monsters, undead, and the playable races separately for this.
By "monster" they merely mean it does not count againt other players - so no use in PVP.
Hate to be bearer of reality, but the new class will not release in its current massively overpowered guise for sure (take a look at the PTS forum comments!). It will still be OP on release (as per ESO's go-to sales drive 'tactic') but will be brought in line with the other classes once sales have petered out.

Is there a particular reason why the helmet is medium, wouldn't you get more bonuses if it's heavy or light? all the other parts are heavy or light.
This looks really cool. Hopefully you'll find a way to incorporate the beam, though. That's the coolest part of the class!
sweet i was hoping u would have a heavy attack and/or 1 bar build for the Arcanist as after watching others i was a little daunted by the blade x3/tentacle/blade x3/beam conmbo most seemed to be using, in regards to reaving blows does the unstable wall not proc this too? i thought it did periodic direct damage even tho it kinda still counts as a dot as well, cant wait to try the class and this build out cheers for another great vid hack

This is an awesome build. I don't like that the shield only lasts 6 seconds, but given the rotation, I think I can handle it.
Question, though... I like the thought of a vampire rescued from the clutches of Molag Bal by Hermaeus Mora. Do you think it possible to mix vampire with arcanist?
It would probably have to be more arcanist than vampire, because without Molag Bal's influence, my vampirism would be a bit weaker, but more controlled. So, no scion.
I went Vampire, its great for mist form in delves, bypassing annoying trash. Darkelf helps against fire damage resistance, I have had no issues. Vampire only downside is health regen, so you pop heals or can use pale Order ring
I wonder if the Ultimate you use is considered pet damage

So glad to see an Oakensoul build on Arcanist. I’m curious as to why you picked Noble Duelist over Storm Master, but if it works then I got a set to go get lol.
Quick question if you don’t mind. How do you unlock the new motifs on PTS? I can’t seem to find out how. I want to try and pre-plan my arcanists’ outfits as best I can, but I can’t use the new styles in the outfit station.
Storm master got nuked on PTS
Make a cp 3600 character, and open the packages in their inventory that contain the new chapters Motif books. You won't be able to use them on the max level template character because it will say the books are already in their library, even though they actually arent. But if you pass them to your existing main through the bank, you can use them on that character and access the motifs on the outfit station. This is the workaround I used.
Question! With the upcoming 10% nerf to empower, does the acrcanist make up for that and if so how?
Is there any one skill that I could replace with the Gate skill for solo exploring?
the gate skill is basically just the sorc's teleport. Its not really all that useful for exploring as walls block it and it is very picky about how high up and what terrain you can actually place it on, no using the gate to jump up to a roof or wall top for example, but the perfectly flat ground at the same elevation next to it might work. What it is good for is positioning during big boss fights as you can teleport back and forth through the gate for the couple of seconds its up.

A question, if I may - why choose "Tentacular Dread" over "Pragmatic Fatecarver"? Going by tooltip green lazor seems to be better. Is it because of "beam" channeling and / or "tentacles" debuff?

Tentacular dead is a magic Crux spender. So instead of beam as your crux spender you use dread as a heavy damage skill and debuff. And use your lighting staff as your main attack using rune blades to build Crux. It’s literally a non beam arcanist build

I think you all are approaching Arcanist oaken wrong. Arcanists will be unkillable healers using specters eye, rallying cry, and earthgore.

@@darschpugs4690 yeah, and then update 35 happened and made over 2/3rds of the end game raiding scene quit, and 99%% of the open raid scene quit almost over night.
ESO Players are sick and fucking tired of zos stiring the shit every patch, especially considering they have "been working on fixing combat" longer now than the game existed before they started mucking about with combat every patch.

Yes you can stop them, by spending them and not using any skills that build them. Reminds me of the Fetch Infection skill that leaves the green glow on your hands until you cast the skill a second time. It's honestly dumb and should have a "crux will be lost when out of combat for longer than 2 mins".

Why not storm masters? Is one better than the other and if so, why?
stormmaster has slightly lower dps but do not need you to do meele, duelist therefore has slightly more dps but you have to refresh it in meele range every 12secs
Storm masters is nerfed with changes to lighting staff second best set now is deadly strike paired with sergeants
It looks great but I really think it's time to have a option to set your characters to what ever level your max character is....I have 3 characters and this will be 4....ik it's a simple grind but I mean gta5 has it so is it really that hard to ask.

So I am trying this now......does anyone have edits to this build to bring it current? I really want a heavy attack build and not a beam build lol.
I’m currently using with deadly strike / and sergeants now that lighting staff is considered a channel and over time affect since recent update deadly buffs l lighting staff. I use this exactly build just swapped order wrath out with deadly.
I do 90k on my oakensorc do about 78-80k on this oakenarc build.
It’s not top tier but it works great. I can’t get a decent rotation with velothi and beam everyone says it’s “so powerful” but for me it hits like a wet noodle.

it would with serg set cause of the lack of crit with it being heavy and bonus, i like to see what storm master is like with aether or somthin, wouldnt be surprised if 2 bar heavy hit with aether and storm master would do more dmg than one bar, with zaan msa back
I’m new to ESO. Can someone explain gear to me like you’re talking to a 5 year old? 🤣 I’ve done so much research but still can’t figure out where to start. What’s the best strategy for brand new characters who aren’t at champion 160? Do I just use random stuff from the overlands or make it a point to get a unique set prior?
I usually try to get at least 1 5piece overland set. Mothers sorrow is very good. Or you can also look on guild traders which sometimes sell crafted sets at lower levels
I was really excited to play this class but compared to my solo sorc this class feels like a turd with glitter sprinkled on it. Yeah it's shiny and new but it's still a turd. For solo anyway

Kinda disappointed they made this a class and not new weapon skill lines. Getting special tomes with an all array of class passives could have been a real game changer.
The visuals are nice but strength values aside it looks like a black warden.
Crux is new it would be nice to see other classes get combo sustain.
I can already see the one bar build. Tank ult. Healing beam. That massive shield. The tentacle execute and the dps spammable crux builder. Pvp is going to suck for a good minute lol

@Moskarth does your weapon disappear when using the ability? Because that's lazy. The necro skulls look idiotic when you use them, your staff vanishes from existence. Pushing stuff out like that speaks to a lack of detail and effort
@@N0VA_30M3 have you not been paying attention, every person who has gotten their hands on the pts or early testing have stated how impressive the effects are for the Arcanist.. every sound effect and animation is completely brand new
@Moskarth they said the same thing about necromancer. The amazing tether was a beam that attaches to your stomach and something on the ground.
Animations on the character model aren't the same thing as a light beam effect. ESO covers up shit animations with a special lighting effect . Look at the beam, you character does a janky animation where he puts his hands in front and then it's covered by a green beam, but his weapons just vanish into thin air.
They don't care about those details, somebody just says good enough and they release it, but it's looks awful.

Several ways. You can use the Oakensoul Ring mythic. Casting any mages guild skill also gives it through a passive

Hey hack try instead of noble duelist try grave inevitability set from graven deep i think it mitigates that 10% loss from empower. Try it with this set up and let me know what you think I’m on ps5 so I can’t do it

I use this exact build and I get around 80k on this. With my sorc ha build I get 90k

@Hack The Minotaur In solo sure, not in groups, or on trial dummies. Medium armor, specifically storm masters has been the stronger set for heavy attack builds because it can be kept up 100% of the time. And because of Medium armor passives. However, with the nerf, its uptime is being slashed around 20%, so I was wondering if it's still better.
But in Update 38 they aregoing to Smash (super nerf) the heavy attack
this is update 38, it is literally the patch that adds necrom and arcanists and is what this PTS is running, the very minimal 10 percent nerf to empower is there. Heavy attacks are not being touched, the empower buff is getting nerfed, instead of it increasing heavy attack against monsters by 80% it will be 70%
After playing arcanist it seems like it was made for people who cant do 39084984 DOTs.
