Why are you putting the functions into pairs? The way you describe the functions, they are just 8 names for different aspects that have no relation to each other and there is no contradiction in imaginating a type with e.g. Ti and Fi....

The reason is that the opposite functions do influence each other in Beebe's model, but I don't think it was as clearly expressed as it could of been in the video. Another aspect is that whatever your dominant function is determines what is in the anima/animus slot because the opposite function of the opposite attitude goes there as you repress this aspect of your mind.

It is almost certainly the case that everyone 'has' all 8 functions. The pairing comes directly from Jung's writings, as these are the pairs he describes in Psychological Types as having a compensating relationship between conscious and unconscious, the superior and inferior relationship that underlies the whole concept of typological attitude.

According to CS Joseph an INTJs most natural and successful romantic pairing is with an ESFJ. As the strength of the hero compensates for the trickster. And the parent watches over the inferior function.

I've been there before, it didn't work out. But it really depends on the person, type alone is not great for predicting relationship success.
