มุมมอง 923 หลายเดือนก่อน
Join us for a deep dive into the teachings of Epicurus, guided by the account of his teachings from Diogenes Laertius. We'll explore Epicurus' philosophical views and will contrast them with our study of Plato's dialogues. In contrast to Plato's idealism, which emphasizes a realm of abstract forms and rational thought as the path to truth, Epicurus' philosophy is grounded in sensory experience ...

Spirituality & Mental Health with Paul Senn
มุมมอง 665 หลายเดือนก่อน
Carl Jung differed from Freud in his inclusion of spirituality as a key element of mental health. Elements of this approach were carried on by some schools of thought as psychotherapy evolved, while in the mainstream of "evidence-based treatment" , one could argue that much of this emphasis was lost. Where is this aspect of Jung's legacy today? Tonight we explore how spirituality and modern men...

Thank you. An excellent overview of Boyd’s work. You mentioned James. Have you heard of a branch of philosophy termed Transactionalism? Seems that Boyd’s work would be relevant there.

Can you find a Quan Le equivalent for Hindu & Buddhist teachings to explain them on this channel?
Thank you for sharing this. Mark's practical sensibility goes straight to the heart of the matter. Like the reluctant hero who is always the true hero, Mark is the reluctant academic, keep going and God Bless.
Can we map the trinity to the Hindu Sat-Chit-Ananda as well? (I think Yogananda did it as well.)
Great video and observations, have a blessed experience.

Yee right... It wass degenerative society made from weak and broken young man, manly and fat women and manipulative old man matriarchs. Basic proto-communism.
I been waiting to hear Lucy talk about Lisa for ages now. Thanks bro
Respect please in pronouncing her name correctly. Gimbutus with a "G". Not Jimbitus with a "J".
Thanks 👍
I have stumbled across this video and it is the best and most pertinent conversation I have listened to in years! Thank you all so much for waking me up and stoking the fire.
"Universe is the aggregate of all humanity's consciously apprehended and communicated nonsimultaneous and only partially overlapping experiences." Synergetics, P.81. This conversation is precisely this.
Ronald gross - một tác giả dở tệ với một quyển sách dở tệ, chỉ biết nói những gì diễn ra trong đầu. Nó không hề có tính cộng đồng và truyền đạt. Quyển sách tệ hại, rác rưởi
Thank you…. Excellent contribution. I’m 11 months late, but I have nearly 50 years of studying Synergetics, but not expert, and this tri-topic covers all my interpretation. How can I connect? I had much personal contact with Ed Applewhite in DC, and Yasushi Kajikawa in Japan while I lived there for 7 years.

PLAY TO PLAY WITH LANGUAGE....the Making of Soul...the Soul Making of this Era, this Epic of the Archaic-Magic-Mythical where all is possible in a world whenn the next Morphosis is kind of intuited and expected...the Play of Change; the Mystery of the Transformation of the Moon Mother whose lifecycle is plaed out through one lifecycle of the Moon. The imagination of the Moon being borne oit of the Western Sky of the Falling Down Place of the Sun. This Western horizon is where the Moon Infant sprouts forth from the Realm of Death to rise forth as an eyelashbof the Infant Moon...the Crescent Cradle of the New Moon Infant Moon...And so the metamorphosi of the Life time of the Moon...the Metaphor of Women's lives..the Moon Blood Moon...this is the Name of the Maya Moon Maiden; Moon Mother...Ix Kik'...IxKik' She of the Moon She of Blood...And so Night after Night the Moon as Woman moves through the Night Space of Darkness...Moon Infant seen as jyst an Eyelash of this Baby Moon...She grows her crescent develops as she moves towards the Heart of the Sky so that the Moon Maiden is a perfect Half Moon at the Center of Sky at the threshold btwn Day and Night....Myth as Metaphor told through the Nature of the Moon who grows and matures and fills out until the Powerful Full Moon...the Great Mother Queen of the Night Comes up and Out of the Eastern Horizon...there where the Sunrises at the Rising Up Place of the Sun; Place of Dawn...So Full Moon thus is the Night Sun; Jaguar Sun This is so very part of Ancestral thought in that a Mature Woman is of the Light and Strength of thecPower of the Sun...Male and Female; Mother Father come together to create abundance on the Face of the Earth so the Moon pulls the Plant World up out of the Ground; Full Moon awakens the Natural Wirld in Magical Mysterious ways...Women bleed together with Moon just as Moon Maiden IxKik' creates Divine Smoke through the invention of Incence by BLEEDING THE SAP OF A DRAGON TREE known as a bleeding tree......I am trying to help us understand how nature and metaphor come together through mythic narrative in order to awaken us to an Ancient Form of Ancestral Consciousness; Natural Movement and the Metamorphosis of Life-Deat-Rebirth was experienced through Nature but also through the Archetypal Consciousness of our Human Imagination that comes from within a human soul. Thise images from within are brought out by the senses taking in Nature on the outside. But it is Myth that organizes and guides it so participants of the tribe-people-nation live with Great Meaning so that as a People with one language and one diviniity could accomplish impossible things in life!!!
Hello, Where is the link to the book. I'd like to read it and follow along.

"I've read the postmodernists with some interest, even admiration. But when I read them, I always have this awful nagging feeling that something absolutely essential is getting left out. The more that you talk about a person as a social construction or as a confluence of forces or as fragmented or marginalized, what you do is you open up a whole new world of excuses... It might be true that there are six billion people in the world and counting. Nevertheless, what you do makes a difference. It makes a difference, first of all, in material terms. Makes a difference to other people and it sets an example. In short, I think the message here is that we should never simply write ourselves off and see ourselves as the victim of various forces. It's always our decision who we are. " Robert Solomon was completely right in Waking Life, postmodernism has great points but it's ultimately empty and intellectually lazy. For years I've been frustrated with postmodernism and have wondered how we can move past it. Recently discovering metamodern discourse has stimulated me intellectually and given me hope for the future in a way that I haven't had in years. I really wish Solomon was alive to see this trend.
The ground of existence. It took me a long time to get into the dialogues of K and David Bohm. You really have to listen.
I really liked James' practice of putting the text through google translate, and getting back an illiterate puzzle to think about. Also that the concept of 'knowing people to be able to know yourself' is simple, and probably obvious in hindsight, but it melds very well into Confucius' lessons. I think, at least. I also like his shirt & background choice. Good sense of style. 🙂
Thank you for this great introduction! Fascinating and complete.👏
The I Ching is not just a book of natural wisdom, but also instructions for kundalini yoga. Within this system the neo platonic experience of balancing the whole of external reality with internal reality becomes an experience of direct living holo-grammatical flow within dynamical structure. As within, so without; as above, so below. Lack of balance is unproductive and becomes a disease state. Thus, the way of the best thinking is sublime to what is. This way returns to balance, centeredness, and completion. Work done, arms and heart rests. Like in yoga.🧘♂️
The Kingdom of Heaven is the ‘power of what is’ and is roughly the same idea as ‘ongoing organic whole eternally moving within itself.’ It explains the keeping of what is, and the flowing of all into all. The Center is the visible origin, and everything moves toward the Center in order to move beyond ‘center’ into what is beyond. What is not present to us is ‘beyond.’ Being and Becoming are not experiences of contradiction, but assumed with each other like the musical tone and the vibrating string.
Fighting my inner ‘puer’ has become the fight of, and for, my life. To expand and fulfill life and escape the deep sleep of my youth is such a challenge. Good luck!
Wonderful. Thank you so much. Read a good translation of the inner chapters in college, and always love the other existing translations. Thank you for your insights!
>>>On the highest level, "style" is the choice of content. So "style" = "content"? Doesn't make sense. They are two different concepts that can be clearly distinguished from each other.
A lip smacking good talk
I want to hear more about the connection the presenter is making about the shadow and the cross. I thought the shadow was about accepting our dark impulses in order to be aware of them so that we can avoid them. How, like the cross, can the shadow lead to transformation, new beliefs, letting go of habits ? I would appreciate more explanation about that.
Read his books! Do the work!
This was so fascinating and right up my street! Are there any more presentations on a similar subject?

I was in that whirlpool struggling and giving up was like always an option but I persisted and although nothing tangible may have come from this I feels the birth has occurred and it was good to be out of the whirlpool, and strangely feeling I have arrived and it has been worth it.Thanks.

I'm so sorry, i love that column. the shape itself inspires awe that ties us back to our cultural ancestors, and oversized - oh wow.
Hey, this video should be deleted and downloded again with slight editing. There is pornographic material starting at 5:50. This should not have been uploaded as it is. Pls, know that you have to edit these parts away. I realize that someone highjacked the meeting, but still, you should have known not to post this. Otherwise, great video, but pls take this down and upload an edited version since the series is good.
fixed the issue
This is some next level stuff. Good work.

Beyond an interesting monologue!
I find it really cool how you all explain the historical context behind some of the lines, like at 40:38 when you talk about how migration wasn't a causal matter in the past and people had to weigh the chances of death in remaining where they were vs undertaking a risky journey elsewhere. Actually it makes me think of Exodus in the Bible! Undertaking a risky journey across unknown lands to the "Promised Land" of Canaan - even that is preferably to remaining in slavery in Egypt. (According to the mainstream popular imagination account, I think some historians argue the early Israelites were actually outsider-guest soldiers/mercenaries and Moses was a military leader or something like that.) Anyway, can I request you all to cover the Hindu and Buddhist scriptures too?
👉who are you😂mirror of krsna 😂
