I thought the shadow was about accepting our dark impulses in order to be aware of them so that we can avoid them. How, like the cross, can the shadow lead to transformation, new beliefs, letting go of habits ? I would appreciate more explanation about that.

Beyond an interesting monologue!

I find it really cool how you all explain the historical context behind some of the lines, like at 40:38 when you talk about how migration wasn't a causal matter in the past and people had to weigh the chances of death in remaining where they were vs undertaking a risky journey elsewhere. Actually it makes me think of Exodus in the Bible! Undertaking a risky journey across unknown lands to the "Promised Land" of Canaan - even that is preferably to remaining in slavery in Egypt. (According to the mainstream popular imagination account, I think some historians argue the early Israelites were actually outsider-guest soldiers/mercenaries and Moses was a military leader or something like that.) Anyway, can I request you all to cover the Hindu and Buddhist scriptures too?
