    I just started my own house cleaning company and have not many clients, but lucky me I've got many deep cleans scheduled :) so I feel like focusing more on that segment of the busines since you are only at 1 place for at the very least 6 hours, and avoid the time that takes draving to another client's when you do 2 regular maintenance cleanings

    Thanks for this video because some clients ask for a deep clean in 2 hours or 3 hours work and I didn't know what to do I'm new at this and I felt very rushed and they give me poor ratings because I didn't complete it in proper time.

    Angela, mentioning doing a little at a time for special needs parents. That is bad not finishing a job all on one day. My experience you go in and get a job done asap all at once otherwise clients mess things up or say you didn't do something and you end up doing it again. My advice going and get it over all at once.

    Something I find frustrating is how some clients don't understand the time needed for deep cleans. I walked into a place, the stove wasn't bad .. but ~shivers~ the dishwasher was a nightmare, I've never seen one so bad. I don't know what her story was, she tried to play it as it's a place she rents to someone else, but the pictures of her on the wall were kind of a give away. 🙄 She said the dishwasher hadn't been used for a couple years, it was horrid. It looked like something food related blew up in there 20 years ago .. and it blew up everywhere .. and the smell. In three hours she wanted me to do the stove, this dishwasher and clean her cupboard doors .. which had ancient drip down dirt all over. I warned her, once I saw the dishwasher that it was going to take a while. She texted me during the clean asking me to do the windows too .. didn't happen. lol

    How much would you charge a deep clean that includes absolutely EVERYTHING in the house! The house recently had some remodeling done, along with a new pool out back.... so there is dust on everything and everywhere. Along with the cleaning I'm doing the laundry of all the linen and bedding. Also organizing the housekeeping supply closet. We are getting the house ready for Air Bnb/Rental.

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      We don't have any packages that include EVERYTHING - that would mean the inside of cupboards, under bathroom sinks, inside drawers, closets, etc. Those are special projects and should be billed separately. The dust/remodeling clean up falls into the post-construction category. And then you have a deep cleaning. Giving a price without knowing the square footage or the scope of the job would be next to impossible - to be accurate.

      If the are an independent contractor - they have their own business, own supplies and their own insurance, vehicle etc. 80% to give them for a deep clean is fair. If you are sending in an employee (and you are paying for all the other expenses - %55 to %60 is about the going rate.)

    Thanks for windows cleaning tip. I have never cleaned them before. But I went 2 step further for our 5 years old windows. I rinsed the window sills with water and then polish them with car spray wax.
    I cleaned my 10 years old fridge 3 times with Cerama Bryte and then polished it with car spray wax. Now it is fingerprints proof. Please tell me is this a good idea or not. I got lots of tips from you, you're my hero during Lockdown.

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for sharing your tips. The car spray wax might work - you will have to keep me posted. Typically we don't recommend using products inconsistent with the manufacturers label. Only because there may be a chemical included that doesn't react well with the paint, or the appliances etc. And in professional house cleaning it's a risk because if a cleaner damages a surface while in their care, custody and control the insurance company won't cover the damage. I am curious to hear though how it works for you. Does it collect dust more often, do you ever get fingerprints etc. Thanks for sharing and for your kind words. :-)

      Thanks Angela. Well so far so good. No more finger prints on my SS fridge. About window sills, dust doesn't stick and thats makes it easier to clean. I read your posts everyday, safety data sheets are very informative. By the I am an 73 years old retired guy from Xerox.

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Rose, we have not made a video specifically on legionnaires disease or offices that haven't had running water in 8 weeks. You make an interesting point. These are concerns you may want to bring up to this up to the client to ensure a plan where they guarantee the power and water is back on and functioning before you arrive to clean. Also, will you be disinfecting or just cleaning?

    • @rosec7008
      @rosec7008 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@AskAngelaBrown it's a full disinfect clean, everyone has decided its necessary for the return of their staff although I believe if it's been shut and completely unattended there shouldn't be any live virus on any touch points or other areas but I wont argue it 😊 The water and power hasnt been shut off in any of the offices I dont think so toilets, taps, showers, dishwashers etc pose a risk. I was hoping a good filtered mask may do the job? I did raise this concern to our clients before lockdown but they didnt seem to see it as a problem! Ideally I would have liked an hour in place each in weeks just to run things...! I'm going to continue researching and see what suggestions I can find xx

That way you can pay the credit card whenever your money comes in and I can pay my employees who come clean your home today so they will come back again next time." Clients usually agree and will put their cleaning on a credit card.
