    Saved me a call to the appliance repair, awesome! Happened to have the exact same fridge with the exact same issue. Also removed that nipple at the bottom of the drain tube. But I kept it, just in case I need to put it back on. Thank you for posting this video!

    Im so glad I saw this video. We too have a whirlpool and the warranty has expired. The freezer is so frosted over that its like snow on the ceiling of the freezer and everything is Artic frozen. Had to microwave the doggone icecream because no spoon could penetrate it! Today, we threw away mostly everything inside the refrigerator because all the vegetables started to get hairy, the milk was warm ext. I thought it was just bad produce from Jewel Osco! Its late in the evening now but tomorrow, I will be a Woman on a mission and try what you did in this video. Fingers crossed for success! Thank you for posting!

    THANK YOU! We had water in the freezer and on the top shelf of the fridge. Thought the Brita pitcher had sprung a leak [that happened to our old one]. And there was ice at the base of that gray thing in the middle of the back of the freezer. We thought it might be the ice maker. Nope.
    And we could find NOTHING on what that gray thing was but suspected it had something to do with keeping the freezer frost free.
    And we stumbled upon your video! And THAT WAS THE ISSUE!. That nipple was plugged and the tray was filled with water.
    So you have saved us from an expensive service call and that's if the service guy would even be able to figure it out and would only recommend a new unit. Ours is only 5 years old. This never happened with the fridge before this, and it was 25+ years old when we finally retired it.

    Well, this vid likely saved me $$$ and hassle. Was having the exact same issue, along with the odd previous issue of water getting dumped out on the top shelf in the fridge (which could be another vid for you if you want it), pulled out the fridge, got into the back, and there was one of those boots, all clogged up and not letting the fridge drain. Note that Id prefer to have a string of profanity to describe the boot, but I dont want to get this comment censored.
    Anyway, I got rid of the boot, and I've got the fridge unplugged and hopefully if I hit the back areas with a hair drier several times over 3-4 hours that should defrost things enough to get them working, and I wont have to keep it unplugged too long or take it apart.
    But, thanks for the help, much appreciated.

    I wish I had found this video 2 weeks ago.
    My refrigerator is almost the same (ice maker too) .
    Mine went into cooling mode and wasn't kicking in the heating element. So it caused it to not cool as it should
    I took it apart to see it froze. I used a hair dryer and let it sit a few hours. I put it back together, and all good.

      So was ours, every day the bottom of our freezer turned into an ice rink, got tired of breaking it up. Checked the heat element, nothing wrong with it, the fan was working fine, so my husband removed that nipple at the bottom of the drain tube, and water came pouring out of it, since then we have had no problem. Why would they put something that would get dirty, something that would collect all the dust, minerals, which would eventually block the flow, is it that they knew if that was done we as the consumers would have to shell out $$$$, to have a tech come out and tell us we needed high $$$$ parts to fix it?

    Great video, liked and subscribed. I have same fridge. Same problem, icicles all over freezer at door and around edges - thought I had a bad seal. But after couple days refrigerator is warm......defrosted everything and plugged back in, three weeks later same issue. My duck bill valve is dry and not iced over. Dusty but not blocked and nothing is dripping in the pan. The evap at the bottom is running and hot, fan below is running, fan inside back compartment of freezer working. I cleaned the dirty coils and dog hair after he first incident 🤣Do you know what would be causing these issues? I don't have items blocking freezer ventilation after first incident.

    The Beko I am dealing with has no air channel between the two what system is this split evaporator?

    • @ApartmentMaintenancePro
      @ApartmentMaintenancePro  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      could be a system where the FF and Freezer compartment have there own evaporator. These systems use a refrigerant valve to direct refrigerant to one compartment at a time.

    I have whirlpool wrt112czjz freezer frosty. Fridge WARM. I emptied it out and I unplugged over 12 hours ago everything is melted... Will this fix this issue? When I plug back in?

    • @ApartmentMaintenancePro
      @ApartmentMaintenancePro  ปีที่แล้ว

      It will fix the issue (temporarily most likely) but there may be a root problem with the freezer drain line or defrost controls. Dirty condensing coils (bottom) can also contribute to freezing issues but less likely

    • @TheForce_Productions
      @TheForce_Productions 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      When this happens you got to do the both things showed in the video: 1- Manual defrosting and 2- Unplugging/cleaning the drain tube. Since the frost issue use to come as a consequence of blocked drains and water cumulation (if there's no components failure).

    • @TheForce_Productions

      No, it's not. The purpose of the boot is to minimize the entrance/sucking of warm/humid air inside the freezer causing over-condensation, since when fan is working the negative pressure inside the fridge turns it into a kind of vacuum machine.

    Hi! I have a kenmore and my fridge started frosting about a week ago. I just cleared out the excess ice and my fans working. The top freezer was extremely cold and bottom was warm.How long does it take for the fridge to get cold? My fridge is very new, and i believe the reason the happened was due to having my freezer stuffed with so much food.
