    LOVE the double-click for markers tip to add and then open marker dialogue box. Great idea. I used to drag the b/w silhouette placeholders over the clips to 'remind' me to add b-roll later on. The marker way you suggest is much faster, cleaner, and really stands out at a quick glace of your timeline. Nice! 👍

      The only thing I wish they’d add is the ability to set markers to more than just a few colors!

      I wish! I just recently made a tutorial on the channel where I recreated the LOKI title inside of Apple Motion. I was just overviewing that tutorial when I filmed this one haha

    Tip Number 6! Brilliant. I have lost count of how many times I've used the same bit of video more than once on the timeline and then, worse, don't notice the duplicated clip until it is toooooo late. Here in Scotland we call this kind of mistake as 'finger trouble.' All other tips excellent. Scotland is looking forward to hearing from you next week. Ah hiner yoo'll be havin' a stoatin weekend an' th' win' isnae blowin' up yer kilt.

    Just some additional info about audio/video only mode - there are several hidden shortcuts in FCP - like Connect Audio Only or Overwrite Video Only Backtime. It more useful than press Shift-2 before then press Q or D )))

    Hey Dylan, great video as per usual, you always kill it with making things understandable but without speaking like you are teaching a child, there was one question I had for either you or your followers - How come when I click on a video from my library section it instantly puts range brackets on it as if I only wanted part of the video and then I have to stretch either side before dragging it onto my timeline - Any suggestions would be much appreciated

    • @TheFinalCutBro
      @TheFinalCutBro  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is something that happens a lot to me as well! There are a couple reasons why this can happen. But sometimes I think it just defies logic and does it anyway 😂
      The first reason is I usually just accidentally click and drag when selecting a clip.
      The second reason being it’s a photo. All photos in FCP will naturally only select a part of the clip.
      Now I believe you can undo the selection by click on the clip and pressing U? I have to check. It’s just a muscle memory thing for me 😬
      You can also make multiple selections on the same clip by pressing CMD before you click and drag on it.
      Hoping something here helps!

    • @SharingTravelMoments
      @SharingTravelMoments ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheFinalCutBroThanks Dylan, yes its a pain, the way I work around it for pictures is just use X to reset all the ranges and have the picture setting as 10 seconds, just need a way to use that work around for videos, but im going to watch some more of your videos as I am sure you must have covered something like that in the past - Thanks

    Dylan - Do you know of an upper third title package for FCP - I want my tagline on reels and all - I am also planning on purchasing the vertical package you have, but I want to find out if I can find and upper title [small for just my youtube name to run throughout the video - examples are on my channel - - if you don't have time that is cool... Thanks for all the videos. They are a great help.

    If it helps me a lot today, I imagine in the past how much faster I would have learned.
    I myself don't know how to change the colors between videos with two or three different cameras on the timeline....
    In a future video, please include this tip too.
    Thank you very much for another excellent quality video.

    I'm just starting with Motion and I have a question. I've been doing some trendy smooth zoom outs with bezier curve and it drove me nuts that I had to do it separately for X, Y, Z axises of the Scale parameter and try to align them manually. I'm sure there has to be a way to change them all at once but I couldn't figure it out.
    I'll appreciate if anyone can help me out with this.
    To be more specific: I'm adding a Scale keyframe at the beginning and at the end, I change the starting value, and then in the Keyframe Editor I select a keyframe and make it Bezier and play with handles. I can't select all axises at once, only one of them, which is so illogical. Maybe I'm missing something.

    • @TheFinalCutBro
      @TheFinalCutBro  ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally know what you mean! This frustrates me all the time.
      To select them all, you’ll need to click and drag to create a selection box over the keyframes. Then make sure you don’t press shift when you first select them, otherwise it goes back to only selecting one. Definitely not intuitive at all.
      This video should hopefully help when working with keyframes

    Is that optical flow thing something that can be done in Motion?

    • @TheFinalCutBro
      @TheFinalCutBro  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes it can! I’m having trouble remembering where it is off the top of my head. But I think it might be when you select a video clip, then in the left inspector, underneath the transform properties at the very bottom. I believe it’s under the retime settings. I’m not in a place I can check right now, but it’s definitely inside of Motion!
