- I have heard the name Twenty One Pilots, however, I have never heard their music. Now I have and this song "Stressed Out" was really really cool. I love how they were talking about the stress of life and how they wished they could go back to the simple lives they once had. I totally agree with that. Our lives have sped up so fast that we are literally living 5 times more life than anyone in the past has lived. The amount of life we pack into our short term life is incredible and would give anyone from the past a full-blown heart attack. Anyway, great song. I cannot wait to hear more songs from twenty one pilots.

The black on his neck and hands is paint. He used to paint his neck and hands during that album. The album is called blurryface and blurryface is this character that Tyler Joseph the vocalist created that is supposed to represent his insecurities and inner demons and if I’m not wrong the paint is also representing his insecurities so the black on his neck represents that he’s insecure about his voice and and on his hands represents that he’s insecure about his lyrics and writing. That’s how I’ve understood it at least but I might be wrong so if I am correct me.

You brought up a great point. Technology is supposed to make our lives easier. That’s literally its definition, but, instead, it’s just made our individual lives and the world as a whole more complicated and difficult.
Insane for sure? With technology, we have lived the equivalency of 20-30 lives from the 1800s. you can take all their lives together and we have done more things and lived more experiences through technology. It is insane.

This was filmed @ their old parents homes in Columbus,Ohio. Fans found out where they lived keep bugging their parents if their son' s where home. So they had to move.
It attracted a lot of people, because want be less Stressed Out, when younger! Try "ODE TO SLEEP", it explains some of their story!

Your reaction is so true. But the old days weren’t that fun either. Especially if you weren’t a white male :) We need to progres not regres. And I don’t think they are making fun of it in any way. Just because it’s a bop doesn’t mean people don’t take the song (or the band) seriously. Tyler talks about his insecurities alot and he is very talented.

Depends on which part of the 1800's. The Civil War began 4/12/1861. I'd say that's a bit to stress about. I imagine there was some shit leading up to it, right? It went on until 4/9/1865. And I know there was a ton of hardship for both sides, but mainly the southern states following the war. What with the carpet baggers and all the scammers and the terrible politicians. Just like today, though, right? Stressful.
Also, my uncle was fortunate enough to discover and purchase from a Goodwill Store, an Elementary textbook from back then. It was clearly what we would now think of as college level English Grammar. I'd say, they had high expectations in terms of education back then. Just a thought.

That's not a funny song, they made it more upbeat and pop to get all those billion of views, currently just cuz that's how industry works. About paint on neck and hands : "My name Blurryface and I care what you think", blurryface - main character in the album, that represents Tyler's (singer and songwriter), and ours insecurities .obviously Tyler's alter-ego. Tyler usually wears black paint on his hands and neck during his live shows and music videos for the album, to represent Blurryface and his insecurities, how he is not sure in his music ( hands - music instruments , neck - words, voice).
