Yes!!! This was exactly my experience too! In fact it was my Grandmother who bought me the game…I spent hours playing it! Was such an underrated gem from this Sims series!
This was my first ever sims game- I used to pick occupation based on how cute the outfit was & I couldn’t figure out the storyline for the life of me so I usually ended up going insane, befriending all the monkeys, and eventually dying of starvation 😭
I, meanwhile, made a society on the island and it was so much better than modern society I just didn’t leave xD. I stayed on the island once I got all the sims together. I found out by accident I could leave but I chose not too. Me: FUCK YEA I’M GONNA STAY WITH THE MONKEYS AND EAT COCONUTS AND BUILD A CITY!
I played it for about 30 minutes on someone's elses PSP and I couldn't even figure out how to make my Sim walk... I'm older and wiser now, I promise...
More castaway! Also fun story: my sisters and I used to play this game when we were younger, they're 4 and 5 years younger than me, so they were a bit impressionable. They decided to play Sims castaway in the back yard one day and recreated the fire starting technique in the game, which is a real technique, and accidentally set a small fire in the backyard
OMG a I would've loved not being introverted as a child bc I was little when me and my sis played this game and we surely would've loved to decide make a real life sims castaway😁! -not setting something on fire, of course😆-

I have a story that reminds me that this game exists. It's lengthy and gory: My mother and I were watching the newest episode of Lost when we heard the softest sound come from the front yard. We looked, saw nothing and continued our night. She went to bed. I went to go play this in the living room when I heard a knock on the door. Went and saw some familiar faces (small town). I ask what they want because I was a sassy child and they were interrupting my Sims 2 time. A car wreck happened in the front yard. I look and a car is *wrapped around* our well. I just said, "Hold on," and got mom. Fire department, police officers and ambulances light up the small country road. Someone says a person is missing. Cut to the missing person walking down the road, rambling about her son being home alone (when he was grown and right in front of her). Her foot had been torn off and was dragging behind her connected by tendons and she was walking on her bone. And that's why I'll always remember this game exists. Because of seeing that woman in that state.
oh my gosh, it makes me so happy to see you playing this!!! sims castaway on console was my first sims game (that i owned) as a kid growing up because my parents didnt want me getting the pc version at the time. Also physically moving your sim around was always nice like on Castaway.
I love playing the sims castaway! We actually can make our sims go home at the end of the game. But to reach it we have to move to many islands and also collect items like radar, radio, and other stuff. It is a really fun game!
Yes please do more castaway giving me so much nostalgia! I loved this when I was a kid. Had it on console but it was exactly the same. Loved this episode!
You can change the names of those chimps ingame. My little brother would always name all the monkeys on the island Claire and whenever it was my turn to play, I would change them all to his name. It was an ongoing thing. Wonder who won that war and what those pixelapes definitive names ended up being, years and years later. I forgot.

Also physically moving your sim around was always nice like on Castaway.
I love playing the sims castaway! We actually can make our sims go home at the end of the game. But to reach it we have to move to many islands and also collect items like radar, radio, and other stuff. It is a really fun game!

Loved watching you descend into island madness!
Please continue this and Sims Medieval! I love these games
I forgot.
You do an absolutely amazing job with your videos, every time I play any of the sims game franchise I always turn to your channel for Easter eggs or whatever. Plus all of your videos are very entertaining and I really enjoy your content so major props from your number one subscriber and a Canadian fan 👍🏻👍🏻
PLEASE continue this series oh my gosh
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO PLAY THIS! So much nostalgia, but amazed how different the wii version is compared to the PSP
