I wouldn't really care if it's canon or not, as I'm pretty sure theres few things that are canon, that aren't just household stories, like Bella Goth disappearing in Sims 2, or storylines, like the one in Sims 4: Strangerville. Honestly, I just love hearing people' s theories and personal interpretations, like about for example the Landgraabs' lore, or why llamas are so relevant in the Sims universe.

OP none of that makes sense. It's simply a parody on ancients like found at Aztecs, Egypt, etc. "Humanoids" more likely humans with masks / helmets / hats on, nothing out of ordinary. I mean look at tribes even today, they make masks and have traditional dances and other festivities and activites in them, just like people before they also even use those to intimidate others. All cultures have one way or another used masks / helmets / hats all decorative in wars and other means. All those don't predate humans rather became a thing centuries+ later that humans invented themselves or rather say got inspired by learning from nature. Something a modern day human completely lost touch with too. Hence point in case of your confusion too. Also the nonsense such as "humans were evolved from monkeys" put it to rest forever already because it had been debunked ages ago, even then didnt had any relevance when it was imposed to studies. Sure some schools might still teach this garbage or mentions here and there just to avoid more important topics and to dumb down people. The system doesn't want masses to be smart, but dumb as possible but yet functional enough for slavery based tasks. Therefore the education in most places is just manufacturing slaves and not making smart people. The whole monkey thing was invented to intimidate the masses if they would start to rebel, "you are a monkey spawn, you are not worthy of thinking, we the elites are here to think for you and you are here to obey and serve us". If anything humans became so dumb that it's more likely that humans will evolve into monkeys rather then we being spawned from them ... Some even behave like monkeys because again it's projected into some people from the early age. 103 likes on your comment also proves this point, there are 103 lost people out there thinking they read something smart today "sims (which are based on modern humans anyway) are descendants of llamas instead of monkeys" ... I think nearly every Australian child of a certain age played Sims 2 castaway. It scratched an itch. The kind you'd try and scratch by playing in the bush, and coming home covered in ticks. 😅
Sims 2 was off the bat soooo ahead of its time, I remember playing the sims 2 all the time on my ps2, I really loved the building aspect and crafting aspect of the game, I wish we could get a remaster of the sims 2 tbh
I loved this game so much … I got it the same Christmas I got my puppy. Sadly he passed away this summer aged 16. There was lots of having a German shepherd puppy asleep on a pillow on my lap while sitting in front of the tv playing this waiting on him waking up so I could play with him. I’m crying now but this is the best memories I wish I could go back to.
its so good to see a resurgence of people playing my childhood game... i'm 24 and i still play this game in the same old ps2 i played as a kid HAHA (i was lucky we never sold it or anything). something funny, i didn't realize until years later as an adult, that the spearing mechanic, you have to click "spear" when the fish jumps up from the water - works every time. i remember thinking "aw this sucks, i never get fish" but now i do every time. its funny how you see things differently when you get older. also, the graphics used to be like, breathtaking to me LMAO but now they just put a corny smile on my face. this game also had a bizarre sense of eerieness and creepiness that modern sims games would NEVER even try for, not on the same level, imo
It feels really nice to watch someone play and talk about Sims 2 Castaways for the PS2, I rarely ever hear the game get mentioned at all. It was a big part of me playing video games in elementary school, I would play it with my dad. feelsgood
This game really really hints that getting off the island isnt the good ending. Because of the noise and misery that awaits your return. Also there is a final goal where it says get married and start a family but every time i tried it was always declined no matter what.
I loved The Sims Castaway as a kid. I had it on Playstation Portable back in the day (still do!) I pray for a new game similar to that, but I doubt EA will ever deliver. If an indie dev ever makes something like that, I’ll happily give them my cash, haha.
Imo green hell is great. You have to take care of balanced nutrition, hydration, sleep and health. You hunt, forage, build and explore, can tame and breed animals, make a fruit garden, on harder difficulties there is hostile environment (jaguar, natives)
I really loved the survival aspect that they went with for this game. They nailed that era for all the Sims 2 versions tbh, each being unique and fun. I wish they'd make more!
I absolutely loved this game as a child, I remember playing it the whole afternoon day after day, I never really found any other game that quite scratched the itch of a "castaway survivor/sim game" like this one, this was also my first The Sims game and since then I fell in love with the franchise, this video surely is very nostalgic to me

The Sims 2 had so much personality and ingenuity pumped into it, it's insane. Oh I loved playing Sims Castaway! I played it on the psp, and I'm glad that you were able to build that bungalow. I always had that issue where even if you removed every piece of furniture, the limit meter never went away (I don't know if it's an issue for other versions though), so I couldn't craft one. I heard that the PC version actually has more npcs to it, it's a way different experience.

The monkey flute (found in forge behind throne) is the best for raising creativity, but calls all the monkeys into the area if monkeys are allowed to enter.

although it would creep me out when I was a kid, Sims 2 Castaway was my favorite Sims Game besides Sims Urbz. I loved this video, had so many nostalgic memories from that time.

Oh I loved playing Sims Castaway! I played it on the psp, and I'm glad that you were able to build that bungalow. I always had that issue where even if you removed every piece of furniture, the limit meter never went away (I don't know if it's an issue for other versions though), so I couldn't craft one. I heard that the PC version actually has more npcs to it, it's a way different experience.
