I really like how you view all details and double and triple check everything. Despite the work and challenges involved you make buying a NOT triple locked LC look like not a bad idea as long as you don't mind installing the air lockers. I have heard the ARB air lockers are really great units and basically almost never fail unless installed incorrectly. Many say they are better than the E-lockers that usually come stock. Happy to finally catch up on the LC videos.
Check the description of the video! Edit: wait…thought I had a link in there. Google “nitro 4.88 gears Toyota Land Cruiser”, I think customoffsets has the kits. Revolution is good too and yotamasters has them.
Nope. Nitro is impossible to contact to be honest I didn’t even try. It took them about a month to even ship these gears and it was a difficult experience trying to contact them. Eventually they showed up and the quality is good….id say the bearing is probably fine and that many would use it with no issue. Just didn’t sit right with me.

About to tackle this exact upgrade next. Great vid man 🤙🏼
How about air system/plumbing next? ARB? Viair?
Thanks! I was thinking the ARB twin unit so I could air up my tires too.
@ good call. Probably make for a simpler install too. 🤙🏼

Shouldn’t you freeze the bearing to put it on? Heat expands metal?
If the bearing is to slip over a shaft, heating the bearing expands it to help fit it over a shaft.
Freezing a race can help.
Did Nitro give you a reason for the different bearing they gave you?

@ I would feel the same about using that bearing. Great video, I am collecting parts to do the same install.
Shim-ception 😮

Poor little spider, as an Australian i disapprove of the dispatching lol
No Super!?!??! Greetings from SF
Give it’s a paint looking wrap
Maybe in the future. Mechanical stuff more important to me for the time being. Definitely would like it to look good too!
@ totally agree!
Greetings from Aus! How much mpg/Lper100 are you getting with the rebuild brother?
Before the gear upgrade, around 8.5mpg or 29.4 liters per 100km. After the gears, not sure. Haven't tried yet!
