Admitedly I didn't watch the whole thing but instead parts of it since it's unlikely that I'd do this myself but I'm leaving a comment and thumbs up to help your algorithm.

Thanks! That was my point. I don't do a lot of how-tos but figured this needed one.

Thanks! Worst case scenario I could’ve just put a plug in it.

Excellent video. I thought you were going to release the air pressure and show that the axles would spin opposite. Too funny. I'm not drilling a hole in my diffs, ( thank you)
If I bring over my truck, will you drill the hole for me? LOL

Awesome video! I just finished this same job on my 100 Series LX rear diff, and I'm just about complete with it on the front diff (IFS). You're correct in saying that the adjustor wheels to set backlash are much easier to work with than the shims that the diff on the 100 series requires!

Great video, very intimidating project but I'm really hoping to do this too my 80 after I can get some DVS arms for it.

It's a lot of work but if you take it slow and have the right tools it's not as bad. Good luck!

I would like to request a 5 speed in the 80. I think its called the H151 or somthing? The auto really holds it back imo...

Thanks for the video. Did you have a Semi Floating axle on the 80? I’m looking at which locker to install in the rear of my 1993 80 series, it’s the 1fz-f with a carb. It has rear semi floating axles and not sure which locker fits it? Would appreciate some pointers

Hey, in the US at least, all 80 series 93-97 are full float front axles. I don't think the semi vs full float would affect the locker, it would be made to fit the carrier not the axle housing.

On the sites I’ve been checking they are specifically state the rear lockers they sell are for the Full floating rear axle, hence my question. Forums on ih8mud also not really clear or I haven’t found the right thread. I have not seen a locker on sale as yet saying it fits the semi floater 😢

@@JusticeMatarutse Hm. If something says it fits 91-97 then it would fit yours. 91-92 are the semi floats, 93-97 are the full floats. So I would personally just check the year range and see if it says 91-97, or you could call/message the companies.

I can personally attest to having a December 1994 build date US Spec FZJ80 with semi float rear. There are a few out there. They have rear drum brakes and NO ABS. I will be swapping to a full float rear, but only because I have an ARB waiting to be installed. 1995 and up all got the full float rears with disks and ABS.
