If you see the results! It's worth the 2.5k it cost me for the engine bay and underbody, all I had to do was rust proof underneath and it looks and is like new👌
I don’t have the spare cash for that, but to be fair, when you talk value for money, it just saves so much time, disassembly, painting, washing , sanding. Etc I think it is worth every dollar if you want to look after all you’ve invested in your vehicle. The results were amazing!
@@jamberoobigsplah924what part of that is realistic? Where they send it on every track, cause they know they can afford to get towed home and have 4 other vehicles they can drive and at the end of the episode tell you to just get out there and do it? Or do tracks on the other side of the country and get it shipped home again…
@@Dmax403ci oath… 5 years ago, yeah maybe it was realistic. But now, they ruin tracks for views. Ain’t like me and my 31’s can follow them with their 35’s if they’ve dug ruts out sending it.

@bjones5240 have you ever bought dry ice before? Its not cheap, i think its a fairly new service so not to many people supplying it so demand would also be high.it would be a fair bit of money invested in a pressurised machine spitting out the co2 pellets at speed aswell.
Wow! Your 80 came up a million bucks! It’s great that you showcase these small businesses, because I had no idea dry ice blasting was even a thing. I will need to take my 80 there. Have to hire a car for a week, but it would be worth it! Keep up the great work guys.
Mate my 80 is going in, it seriosly needs its bum cleaned, so those oil leaks are the two seals in the transfer case, nust did mine and perfect. I was also given a tip from top Toyota specialist always replace the aloy washer with a genuine new one and torque the bolt in to spec, over tension can crack the case easy.
I love how you guys have grown, now going to the next level in your TH-cam channel. From patching and fixing to proper quality restoration. One big ask from me for my perfection brain. Please do the engine bay inside the doors under the bumpers with this dry ice process. Promise??
Very cool. I'm aware that Iain Tyrell (Tyrrell's Classic Workshop) showed some carbon blasting on some exotics he maintained and Mr Hewes (Mr Hewes) showed the same on a tank restoration ptoject. It's fab stuff and you seem to have got the best of it here, too. You're fortnauate that the OE coatings on the 80 series seem to have held up well and I do like the treatment product. Fab.
Hey guys, I've seen a lot of your shows but this is the most amazing transformation of a vehicle I've seen yet. One trick I learnt from Dahl was before going away on a weekend spray the whole underside in nulon as it makes it much easier to clean after a weekend away.
Im seriously impressed. My 31yo Range Rover Classic is in Melbourne at moment having engine management system overhaul thanks to Stafford at Kitsetperformance and I’m now thinking maybe carbon blasting underneath would be great to do while it’s over there (im based in Adelaide). Thanks so much for sharing this video. 👏
Loved watching this -- What an amazing way to protect your asset ! ! Well done Guys . I have a feeling that this just may become standard for the 4 x 4 fraternity ??
Yeah your wheel arches were coated in muck. From the get go - that bituminous stuff. But the Cummin Blaster did do an amazing job, can't detract from the that. I'll have to have a look around for a Cummin Blaster guy near me and get some action going on.👍
Hey fellas! Another epic video as usual, I really hope you see this! - it would be great if you could do a video on fixing those oil leaks! It would be so handy to see some of the common leak spots on the diesel 80’s and how to go about fixing them! Cheers lads
Looks great after dry ice treatment. Still I was wondering who you would recommend for engineering the welding thats been done. Done the same to mine and need to find an engineer west of Melbourne. Thanks, keep up the great vids.
The reason that the paint beneath the dirt is still in as new condition after all these years is because the factory coatings applied by Toyota have protected it perfectly. Although the treatment has worked well I would be concerned that it may have removed the factory protective coatings that have preserved the under body since new.
hi guys. have to say i never heard of dry ice blasting.it sure does a good job.very informative video. Now a QUESTION..im in ringwood, just in from Brisbane,i have a 2004 landcruiser with 5 speed box.pretty standard. need transfer case rebuilt. or replaced.recomendations for reliable repairs would be appreciated.
Thank you for this detailed overview. I’ve been curious about the process and the protective coating. One question I have is whether the inside of the frame, as well as other hollow components like the crossmember, are treated with this coating. Otherwise, it seems like the elements could still be causing damage from the inside. Thanks!
Great question, the IGL Aegis coating is not applied to interior cavities, but we are actually looking into bringing a cavity coating as a part of our service for the very reason you mentioned.
Awsome transformation. Scary to think how many body parts you'd have to sell to pay for it lol. Just found a 1990 model that is still clean underneath bar a transfer case weep
looks great, surely that has had some black paint sprayed over the drivetrain parts since it left the factory? (ie rear axle), my 80 is scratched to hell down there
Great way to clean dirty metals. Be careful using dry ice around plastics and wiring. The dry ice pellets can destroy the wiring sheathing and damage any plastics.
underbody anti corrosion can cause corrosion once it starts to crack and age. It will trap moisture... lanolin will need to be reapplied but it remains a fluid so it can seal itself again
I've started seeing dry ice blasting being advertised but was sceptical on how truly effective it is. But after seeing this, I'm mightily impressed. As you've said, it looks like it just left the factory. Do you have a rough estimate on how much the blasting and the coating cost to do an 80 Series like yours?

Not once they see the quote. From my research, just an engine bay is about $1000.

Now every single 4bie on market place will have "never been offroad" haha. What an awesome process
Thats absolutely amazing. So satisfying. Its now concourse looking underneath.
Matej did one of my customers R35, looks amazing! Expensive process due to materials and time needed. Good work doesn’t come cheap!
How much did it cost?
It's not an oil leak. It's a Toyota added feature, called under body rust prevention system. LOL. 👍🐕🤠
Cruiser looks smick.👌Carbon Blast did an unreal job.👍
That's some good content boys!, Alot of people would be interested in this!. I personally was blown away with the results. Looks unbelievable!.
Unbelievable how good that come up. The rubber hoses and clamps look new... very cool. Alot of new customers on there way
I like that Patrick is finally spending money on making this 80, look the part now. It will really make all the gear standout once there's new paint.
Yep cannot wait for the paint, its ugly how it is
dont think he's spending his money on it. most of that stuff is sponsored
Great video showing new small businesses out there and showcasing their work ❤
