I love finding new people watching this show, I hope you enjoy it and I can't wait for more of your reactions. In the books at least in IwtV Louis and Lestats relationship is subtexted. The first bite they share in this is like they say is "the little drink" which is hard for vampires to master but if done right can be a euphoric and intimate experience.
Lestat only took a little drink from Louis on that other night, they didn't do the blood exchange that makes you a vampire. In the church, they really go from Lestat's proposal to a kind of wedding; Lestat makes a vow (if Louis does, he leaves it out of his narration) and they exchange a kiss and blood (blood instead of rings).
Yes! Ever since it's been available on Max, I've been waiting for new Reaction Vids to this amazing show! I hope you stick with it all the way through the 7 episodes.
Yeeees, one more reactor watching this gem! Thank you, look forward to the others! The timeline of this episode is around a year, so even though Louis only saw Lestat's true nature at the church, they were very much connected despite Louis' denial. Also, the context was changed for the series but the essence remains the same and they're using elements of several books of the Vampire Chronicles which makes everything more nuanced and interesting. The movie, which I've loved since I was a kid, only considers the first book, IWTV. Anyway, there's a long journey ahead, hope you enjoy it too!
There are 3 books right? Interview, Lestat, and queen of the damned.. I really should rewatch the movie, and I’ve never seen Queen of the Damned before. Hope you enjoy the journey! :D
@@midnightmovies84 There are 10+ books! You mentioned the main ones, the first 3. I found IWTV kinda boring tbh (sorry Louis) but The Vampire Lestat is so good! Can't wait to see it adapted for S3! I haven't read all of them but I know it's a wild journey. The channel Naughty Librarian makes some funny recaps of the books. The 1994 movie is always a great rewatch. Recently the director said that around 30 min that were shot had to be cut including an important part of the book that will be in the series (I don't wanna spoil it for you). I wish they'd release a special 30th anniversary edition next year! As for QOTD the movie, it's nostalgic for many but it's so bad even if you just see it as a separate entity. They merged TVL + QOTD, nothing makes sense 😂 I won't even comment on "Lestat"... But Aaliyah is fabulous, the soundtrack is nice and because of it the excellent actor who now plays Lestat (Sam Reid) started reading the books, is now fulfilling his dream and giving us this incredible portrayal 💜 P.S.: the first 5 audiobooks in case you're interested th-cam.com/play/PLrvyiZ4XwFeheBmc-uCfSmDgz_ewecNoR.html&feature=shared
10 BOOKS? I had no idea! I’m kind of interested in the movie Queen of the Damned only because I heard the soundtrack is amazing and I love those bands!! But heard it’s wayyyy different like an MTV style type movie? I’ll try to watch it!!
@@midnightmovies84yeah I'm pretty sure there's technically 15 books total in the entire series? Most book readers agree that like the first four books are the best. 🤷♀️
Hi, I just found your channel, and I love this show. I can't wait for the new season. Daniel is such a hard boiled reporter, reminds me of some of the older people I work with at the paper.
@@midnightmovies84 I've seen the movie many years ago, and I've read most of the books. The books are very different from the show, and that includes Louis's relationship with Armand.
💭I'm glad you're watching the show because it's really good!...👍🏼 (the dialogue, clothes, sets, etc.) ~I've been hooked on the first season ever since I saw it., and I haven't read the books, nor have I ever been into vampires.
@@midnightmovies84 🙄; umhhh, Well I like Lestat, So I guess...😊lol / 🎥one of my favorite shots, Ep.2 ~When Lestat is walking in the run (with crispy Louis behind him) His stomach looks like a slide, I just haven't figured out which way I would slide first. lol (sorry for being so pervy.)🤭
Louis has always been gay he just supressed his sexuality but im sure you know that by now. What i've come to understand is that vampires in this universe like to suck blood when they have sex and supposedly that's the only way they have intercourse in the books but it is obviously different in the show but that bit at the end, was the real way to turn someone into a vampire. @@midnightmovies84
It always makes me laugh how Louis is like "I was hunted." No honey, you were COURTED. If Lestat was hunting you, you would know it. xD You can't become a vampire unless there is a blood exchange. Also Louis is very much in denial and lies a lot in the first book which Lestat calls him out on later in his own books. Take his narration with a grain of salt when it comes to his description of Lestat. Loustat as a couple are messy as hell but they're soulmates. Paul was unfortunately mentally ill, and killed himself. Lestat had nothing to do with it :)
Are we sure it wasn’t Lestat who killed Paul? I’ve finished the series a week or two ago, and Lestat said he had nothing to do with it. It’s fun to speculate since Lestat is very powerful and has mind control. But then again, Paul was a little cray cray himself.
@@midnightmovies84 Yes, we are. Lestat had nothing to do with it. Paul kills himself in the book too by throwing himself down the stairs. And Lestat is actually not very profficient at mind control. Sure, he can make weak humans do stuff but if you wanna see an expert, check out Armand. Now that dude got mad skills in that department 😉
Poor Miss Lily. Lestat apparently cuts Louis off from all his supports. I wonder about the priests, though. Paul refused to do confession with one of them.
📍; Your video sounds a lil airy... ➡️Lestat wanted to be with Louis, he stalked Louis for awhile before they met, He found out where all of Louis's regular hang-out spots were, and would be there, so he could try to shoot his shot. (That's why he was with Ms. Lily and at the card game in the beginning.) He used his powers on Louis from day one!., Louis liked him too, but he didn't want to be in a relationship(at that time.) ~Well, Lestat was angry because Louis didn't come back, and his tricks didn't work, So he killed people Louis confided in(to isolate him) Then he went to the church and basically forced Louis to be with him! (under duress, and vampire powers.)
@@midnightmovies84 -I've watched your first two episodes, and I'm gonna watch the other ones when you put them up. / I know Lestat is manipulative and has other questionable behaviors but I'm so into him and their relationship(when it's good.) but Ep.5 Oh my!... It's, (never mind, you'll see it.)
I really enjoyed the first episode! Jacob Anderson's acting in the church scene is outstanding !! I wondered if Lestat fell in love with Louis at first sight, why did he flirt with Lilly in front of him? Do you think Lestat would have killed Louis or changed him by force if he said no ?
@@TabbyeLynnethat's true, Lestat was changed by force, and would probably be careful not to change people against their will. I'm not sure if you have read the books, but there is a part in Tale of the Body Thief that he forced himself on his friend David and turned him against his will. He may very well have turned Louie against his will.
I love Lestat and I hate to admit it but he definitely would've turned him by force. He's always saying in the books that he always gets what he wants and he doesn't follow any rules etc
Dearest Midnight Movie Guy: I, too, have trouble with the sound. Know those conch shells you can hold to your ear and hear the ocean? That's the sound throughout this video. I wondered if it might be structural, so I checked out one of your other videos. The "Chucky" show reaction was better, but I could still hear a faint sizzle (insted of a loud whoosh like IWTV). That said, I think your reaction was wonderful. You ask what was the purpose of Lestat drinking/levitating Louis without turning him? True, vampires bite to kill. That's why, in Anne Rice's world, it's only the strongest and most disciplined vampires who learn how to do "wine-tasting" (la petit coup: the little drink). Louis' blood must have been like Dom Perignon, haha! Remember this little drink that these vamps seem to only do to people they intend to turn. You'll see it again.
I think it’s my mic? I had to turn it up in order for you guys to hear me. However, I did buy a new mic, and I used it for my live stream on my other channel, and you can’t hear that buzz/distant ocean sound. My third Interview/Vampire reaction will have the new mic.
