We swapped out our foam mattress from our Autohome Airtop Maggiolina for a 3" self inflating mattress. We can tweak the mattress firmness with more or less air. For packing up, I plug in a USB charged battery powered inflator/deflator to suck all the air out while I tend to other packing around camp. It only takes about 3-5 minutes to suck the mattress completely flat. Yours looks a bit thicker and might take a few mins longer to deflate. I can deflate my mattress probably 10 times before needing a recharge on the pump. This makes quick/easy work of dealing with the mattress side of things.
We also switched from sleeping bags to actual home style sheets, blanket and comforter. WAYYYYYYY more comfortable and easier to keep washed and clean. We can change up the sheets and blanket for the seasons. Thicker flannels are so cozy in the colder months.

Sounds like an awesome setup you have! I’m not aware of a way to deflate the exped mattresses with equipment. That would be slick! They have proprietary valves so they don’t hook up to a standard compressor. We love them though because they are insulated and super comfortable. Better than most hotels we stay at and we are always excited to get back to nature.

What type of awning do you have and where did you purchase it from?

    • @Overland-Traveler

It’s a shadow awning made by Alu-cab. I don’t recall where we purchased it. Have had it 6 years or so.

How were you able to get a driver side opening condor?

looks good. what is the awning at the back? Can it be easily attached/detached or is it 'permanently' fixed?

Hey there, it’s an alu-cab shadow awning. Out can be detached with 4 bolts but we never do. What vehicle are you considering it for?

@@Overland-Traveler thx. Mine is a Ford Transit Custom dbl cab. I was hoping its simply clamped into fixed braxkets so its easy to remove. Not something I would leave on.

@@remdog7827 Gotcha. You could probably get some sort of quick release brackets fabricated.

Did you custom order yours to open on the drivers side? I need mine to open that way as well because of my awning set up. How did you mount your awning? How much clearance does the Condor need to open next to where the awning is mounted? Can you show pics?

I did custom order it that way. I mounted the shadow awning with the brackets made for the slimline 2 rack. I also had to shift the tent to the driver’s side a bit of center to give the tent clearance when open. At first it was rubbing on the awning. Not possible to add photos here.
