As cool as it is to watch, it's an entirely different experience when you're playing it. Hearing the symbiote snarl and whisper through the controller is such a nice touch

Something I noticed is that as Peter uses the symbiote for longer, he uses the tendrils more and more. He starts by basically just using them as bigger webs but towards the end he’s using them in basically the same way Venom would

It's the one thing I hope we see more of from the Anti-Venom suit. The tendrils a symbiote has access to are so much more helpful than the power boost they give.

I don’t know how they managed to do it, but they really made every single time you use the symbiote rage feel like you’re a raging monster tearing people to shreds. I haven’t felt that way in a game before, even in games specifically made to make you feel like a monster.

This and Jedi: Survivor are the only two that have made me feel this unstoppable and those sequences are my favorite parts in those games
Just make the vision borders a negative color, like black or red, distort the audio and turn the saturation down, bam you got your character looking pissed
God of War Ragnarök, Jedi Survivor and Spider-Man 2 are some of the best games out within the last year and they all have rage abilities that make you feel like an unstoppable force 🔥 I don’t think it’s a coincidence at this point for creative Game Studios to realize stories with anger management abilities for the protagonist = MONEY
The amount of dedication that yuri put into voicing Pete should not go unrecognized. I actually felt extremely bad having to fight Pete when he said that all he wanted to do was save everybody
yo the pain in his voice when he says "You all think *I'm* the problem" made me feel so bad for Peter. it was clearly the symbiote manipulating his emotions, but you could tell it was actually convincing Peter it was true.

Which is what I meant by "it was clearly the symbiote manipulating his emotions" cause it was literally putting the words in his mouth. But the way Yuri delivered it showed Peter still *genuinely* believed the words in that moment
I agree with you, the amount of work Yuri did is astonishing. The SECOND he started acting slightly more aggressive than what we experienced firsthand in Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, I immediately clocked that something was up not just how Pete was acting, but also how Yuri delivered his dialogue. I only wish we got more of a slow incline, to emphasize Yuri slowly getting more and more aggressive due to the Symbiote than just a straight 45 degree angle of the incoming car crash.
Please give this man a award for best videogame voice acting. Yuri deserves it!

Anyone noticed that intially, the suit has rounded eyes. (You can compare with the "So do I" scene)
Then toward the end/here. The eyes started to resemble Venom's.
As Peter said after, he would have turned to Harry's venom eventually if Miles didn't save him.
Yes because there are two versions of the suit: the one that looks chitinous/armored which they used for marketing and this one which drops the armored look.

He’s usually a nuasance at best but I actually cheered when Harry went full WE WILL EAT YOUR BRAINS mode on him! Though it is kinda weak that they needed to give him magic bullshit potions just to actually make him a threat to SYMBIOTE SPIDEY aka the man who made 90s Shocker piss his pants in FEAR!

1:29 I really like how they portrayed his physicality in that landing there. His body doesn't contort to gravity, it's perfectly placed, which makes it/him seem unnatural. This reminds me of a line in Spectacular where he talks about the symbiote providing him with better/perfect balance
This is exactly why this game needs mission replay. You don’t get moments like this after the story concludes and being able to relive it whenever just adds an extra layer of depths
When I replayed on Ultimate difficulty I had to make a manual save early on to restart my game. After I beat it, I just loaded that manual save back up and started making a bunch of manual saves after every major story point so I can just load back to a mission whenever I want. Still have the Epilogue save too, so i can go back to the postgame at any time. Only thing that sucks is redoing upgrades which wouldnt happen with a mission replay system

(Spoiler warning in this post for those who haven’t played yet) This whole section was just a masterpiece. From the time Peter first goes into “purge mode” and you hear the symbiote say “kill” all the way through the back to back boss battles with Kraven as Peter and then against Symbiote Peter as Miles was honestly one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had.
For me it started with the Miles vs Li boss fight that led into this part
I thought ok miles vs li is fucking peak rn and then we did this part and I was like ok pete v kraven is peak but then we did miles vs pete and I was like ok the last three bosses were done so fucking beautifully the game just kept getting better and didn’t stop impressing

@@austinbasquestunts1836 I’ll have to form an opinion on that one after I finish my 2nd playthrough. I stupidly did my first playthrough on the hardest available difficulty there was at the time. (And now there’s an even harder one I’ve yet to try.) I did it that way because the first game was so laughably easy. Didn’t expect the big jump up on this one and that fight kicked my ass and pissed me off lol.

Honestly this scene and Symbiote Spider-Man in the cage in the next scene trying to break out in a fit of rage was some of the best rage acting I’ve ever seen. I just laugh in awe whenever I see it. Yuri smashed it out of the park with this game and deserves all the awards and praise.
I absolutely love this version of Symbiote spiderman even more, i mean it is sad we didn’t get a Toby dance thingy but man I absolutely love it when good hearted characters goes Bad like this and show how dangerous they actually are.

The insanity of these mercs is something else. They’re litterally praisingBlack Suit as a god of destruction all while it’s tearing them to shreds. That along with the cultists leads to a sensible threat scaling all the way up to symbiote enemies by the end of the game, much more sensible than trying to further tech out the thugs like the first game did.
This game went from Friendly Neighbourhood Spiderman to Prototype real quick 😂😂😂

Also the hunters face captures my reaction "like damn Spidey!". Like that's the scariest I've ever seen Spider-Man this is why I was saying it's the best depiction of the symbiote I've seen in a while

This is one of my favorite missions in this game. Although the suit made Peter be a jackass towards all the people who cares about him, he still cares about Miles to go rescue him.
The Symbiote definitely tapped into the pure unbridled rage of an older brother who is worried for his younger brother. Seriously the heighten moments of rage came out when Miles’ safely was concerned.
The fact that Yuri didn't win best performance at the game awards is absolutely criminal

This reminds me of John Lennon singing Twist and Shout. During a concert he had to sing so loud because the audience was screaming so loud, so much he couldn’t hear his own voice. That broke his voice, though that brought out this raw quality in his voice that made the song sound almost like hard rock.

Another thing I noticed the second time I replayed this game was that when Peter got the Symbiote for the first time, there's a growl coming out of the controller which I legit thought was so cool. Its like venom was in a cage, waiting to be released 🤣

Notice how Pete was getting way more aggressive. Either that’s because the Symbiote has almost taken over or he was genuinely scared of miles getting hurt. Maybe a bit of both.

Yuri Lowenthal's voice in this games sounds more realistic than other voices he did for Spider-Man.
I like how in the Spider-Man games when Peter gets a lil mad motivation he’s like “aw man, I gotta be better” and then in the Arkham games Batman just like, ya know, nearly crushes someone’s skull with his car and is a jackass throughout most of his fights casually
