I'm pretty sure the cabinet started out empty, and the owner chose to install the HK receiver into it. Cabinets like this gave people the freedom to build a custom setup to their own specs. For example, I have an Acousti-Craft cabinet the previous owner fitted with a Harmon Kardon TA 230 and Garrard 88/4 record changer.
