I'm so beyond myself right now I can not tell you how many times every time this scripture was used when I was in the Word of Faith church and so many others I have been dealing with the aftermath of spiritual abuse and all the wrong thing I learned while I was there for 10 years. I am truly learning the Word of God all over again as if it were brand new please keep me in your prayer and thank you for sharing all the things you do I have been watching recently and it has been helpful.

Same here. Coming out of the charismaniac movement, I’ve had to unlearn so much error and heresy and twisted Scriptures. And honestly, reading and studying God’s Word after truly getting saved, it’s an entire different experience

The false teachers seem to do all things with verses out of context how sad for those that follow all these rock star preachers. Glory to God I was able to walk away from them. What truly has my heart heavy for every false teacher that dies or gets replaced the replacements multiply.I just have to pray and give it to God that they wake up see and then hear the lies. I myself was delivered from false teaching, thanks to our awesome Savior. It was a very common thing for someone to be healed, but a few days later lose their healing. Then they are told that they doubted or lost faith. It was pretty obvious to me that they were not really healed in the first place. The Lord opened my eyes to the deception, which makes me love HIM all the more 💕

I have avoided making a video on this for some time.
I have reached out to Colin personally and much prefer someone like Justin address this with him rather than me having to address this.
I want to be fair to all parties and ensure that the appropriate steps have been taken to offer him correction!
I think you should give Colin some major credit for actually listening to the admonishment, apologising for his mistake, and taking down all the videos in which he spoke about that particular subject.
Shows some real maturity and humility right there.
I don’t believe his topics are trashy. He confronts those who speak heresy. His handling is different than Justin’s for sure, but they are basically doing the same thing.

Yes! Thank you for clarifying this verse. It is so often misused. Your videos have taught me so much and helped me and my husband as we made the difficult decision to leave a church that was infiltrated with NAR practices. Your videos helped us to identify the error and the courage to leave.

Much harder to scam people in the hospital. Especially when they could so easily verify the 'healing' with an X-ray, MRI or CTscan.
If someone has a gift of healing they can't just use it on demand all the time, it is as God wills.

Thank you for your ministry Brother Justin. Short background: out of Catholicism (almost became a nun) to Assembly of God and eventually seeking just a true Bible believing/teaching church. This journey has taken over 30 years and I have recently had God graciously reveal deception that I was involved in by allowing myself to be taught by individuals whom I now understand to be NAR. A term I was not familiar with...I am truly seeking to become more grounded in God's word by of course personal devotion, etc. But also by allowing sound teachers such as yourself to speak into my life. My confusion comes in when I try to reconcile what I hear you say based on scripture and what I know beyond a doubt I have experienced personally with healing for myself and others. I still believe that God divinely heals and that it is ok to lay hands on someone and ask God to heal them. I have witnessed what I would definitely call miracles. I do believe however that the healing is obviously up to God and that some healings may never take place on this earth. I have also experienced confusion regarding spiritual warfare principles as I have witnessed true demonic possession and manifestation as well as deliverance through salvation, etc. I pray continually that God will reveal to me "where" I am deceived and not "if" I am deceived. Because to pray "if" would imply that I have all truth. I tried to keep this short but did not succeed. Thank you again and God Bless. You and others like you have been an incredible encouragement to me. I will continue to seek Christ and pray for discernment. I am open to any correction if by some chance this would be read. I recognize that you and others like you cannot possibly read or respond to most comments. I live in Louisiana and I was exposed to "in person" preaching and prophesying by Jessie Duplantis and Joyce Myer as a new believer. It is mindblowing the amount of error that was laid in the early foundation of my faith. However, this just proves the Mercy and Faithfulness of God to lovingly and gently correct error from literally the beginning of my life until now. To God be the Glory!!!
Please be encouraged. Keep following trusted teachers like Justin Peters, but most importantly, keep feeding on the Word (all in context, of course). I would also recommend Doreen Virtue's channel. But, trust the Good Shepherd Jesus to continue to lead you out of deception and into the life-giving, healing truth of his Word, by his Spirit.

"Silver and gold have we plenty..." In other words, "We are rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing." We know what Christ said about them, then.
Its called the American Gospel ! where you have people who get rich from the Gospel ! But it does not Work in North Korea and other places !
Agreed- in Timothy those who are rich are commanded to do good in those riches and to bless people. However, those that we are speaking about have elevated their riches and status to the level of idols. We are commanded to rely on Christ as our source, we are commanded to seek his kingdom and his righteousness first. Those in the Laodecian church have forsaken The Lord. As such, they are blind and naked. If you watch those charlatans preaching the prosperity gospel, you will see it does not line up with scripture. As Paul called it- another Jesus, another gospel. He said those who do so should be cursed.

I was born again in 1978 under a Charismatic fellowship. Our pastor was always having faith healers come into the church and I saw the leg lengthening trick many times. John Osteen, Jesse Duplantis were regular guest preachers. I had moved on from that church by 1982 as my study of God's word started becoming more clear that what I was witnessing was not biblical. I'm like you Justin, I am in total amazement how entire congregations can be so duped by what they are hearing and seeing. I clearly remember new converts receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit and our pastor trying to coax them into speaking some unknown gibberish and the look of frustration on his face when they wouldn't. And yes, I was born again. I became a completely different person almost immediately. Instantaneously turned from a life in the flesh to a life in the spirit as it should be if one is truly experiencing the new birth.

I just read this portion of scripture this morning! I read the footnote, as I had questions…and it did explain perfectly in a way I totally understood. The ppl were HOPING for it, even assuming it might.

@@adamquirke6024 Signs and wonders were not only taking place in the hands of apostles alone. Philip, Stephen and even Cornelius all experienced miracles. Bible will be just a Jewish Historical book without miracles, signs and wonders. God still heals, does signs and wonders.
@@abisheksubba5483 correct, God does still heal but not through any of these NAR faith healers. It is only through God himself that healing happens. And I mean real organic healings. Not an invisible condition that can be temporarily healed by a rush of adrenaline.

Praise God! I love hearing the correction by God's Word of the nonsense that people tell other people. I, too, am amazed by how gullible people are. They worship money and celebrity and that's about it. Well, greed is included in the worship of money. You can't take it with you and every celebrity dies. God's Word is so incredibly wise. Why would a person let his mind stop stil at the shadow for it was the almighty power of The Holy Spirit that filled these men as they obeyed the wil of God and that makes it sound like it goes witjout saying that when thiae Apostles were indwelt with tbe power of God that workex through them they only acted in faith and prob feared the people for tginking it was men who did this. I think they couldnt preach loud enough and fast enough for those people making absolutely sure that only as the vessel is God using them in any wich way he wants his wil to ve done. What the fuss about these shadows and why is it even necessary to explain things tnat puts fear i to my heart when i see that people is so arogant to think that they may give themselfs the honor in saying they did the deed god o ly gave the ability.

It's amazing how much our minds can 'fill in the blanks' from memory -- Although my eyes could see the words, my mind was adding 'additional info' based on prior sermons either from churches I've attended (not really charismatic but flirting that way) or from watching other false sermons on YT! Great video, Justin! I love this series. One verse I really want you to cover someday is John 8:7: "...He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone..." I feel like a lot of people use this to justify not calling out people in their sin or false teaching. This would be a great one to do.
A preacher. I heard years ago said that the sin Christ was pointing out is the fact that the crowd should have brought the man and woman not just the woman. So the crowd sin was in judging or wanting punishment for the woman but not the man as well. I would like to hear Justin’s thoughts on the verse.

Your exposition reminds me of two things: Hinn using the passage from Acts 3 in either Good Morning or Welcome Holy Spirit (which I long rejected,) and hearing a song in Spanish about the passage this video is about, and noticing a disconnect between what was being sung and why although I still believe in miracles, I don’t see the same things purported. Thank you for properly explaining what that passage means. For a bit of humor since you mentioned Todd White’s let lengthening trick, I used to follow him, until I realized he was pulling my leg.

Yeah, and the sad part is, most of those folks probably live paycheck to paycheck. I heard a staggering statistic the other day that nine out of every ten Pentecostals and Charismatics live in poverty! Nine out of every ten! And yet, who do these filthy rich prosperity teachers receive financial support for their "ministries" from? Think about that!
As far as Bible translations go, I would not go with the NIV. There are verses missing out of it. The King James Version is the best version, and the NKJV is a close second.
ESV is also good. Whatever you decide to go with try a translation that is word for word instead of thought for thought.
