    Great video. I've been cross shopping these two cars back and forth for a while now. This is the first head to head video like this I've seen. I just test drove the gt350 yesterday. It's exactly as you said. She'll cut you if you're not careful. Scary fast. I went to test drive a camaro ss1le today but they had zero on the lot. I'm also looking at the challenger scat pack wide body. Anyways great video. Exactly what I needed. Not sure if the Camaro will be too tame for me after driving the gt350. Stay safe 🇺🇲

      Just go with the 350. You won’t regret it I promise. The Camaro will definitely feel tame after the Mustang.

      So I traded a 2014 gt500 track pack for a new (then) 2019 ss 1le from a local Chevy dealer. My main reason was the 14 was scary on stock tires... went through a clutch at 13k miles. ( purchased car with 7100miles, sold at 15800 miles) and overall that car was not a car to daily. It was epic and special and soo sexy looking also loved the recaro cobra seats were sick.
      That being said I went from like 30 miles to almost 39k miles in the ss 1le and I will say camaro handles sooo much better.. crazy good e
      E-LSD diff that has saved me from shit the gt500 would have not recovered from. 38k and same clutch from new!! Warranty vs no warranty in my case. And do I regret it yes but I know I would not have had as rewarding of an experience in the gt500 that tank was small less than 200 mile range from full tank to empty , no rear camara and can't see out of it. Just in general if you use the car as I do as a daily. Then the ss 1le can't be beat

      I think they are confusing “tame” with “precision”. The Camaro SS1LE, is about getting you around a racetrack, fast. That’s it. Easy car to drive like a race car. The mustang would be better to be a street warrior, Camaro if your a track rat.

      @@NappMotorsports Tame because the Alpha chassis is in another league compared to GT350/R. What most perceive as composed/planted feel in Camaro is actually down to the fact that the chassis is not a work in progress like Mustang/Shelby. I drove all three and bought the best chassis... SS 1LE. As a former Mustang owner I can tell you from first hand experience Ford has a lot of work to do in the chassis department to close the gap between these two. The new Mach 1 is not even close and seriously overpriced for a parts bin car. No thanks.

    • @JROC734
      @JROC734 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@BigClaunch damn, you got a steal if it was brand new. I thought I did good getting a new 19 1SS 1LE for $39,736.
      BTW if y'all want to cool your balls in a SLE you have to opt for a 2SS 1LE. Even though the GEN6 Recaros are plummed for it the factory doesn't give the 1SS the heated and vented seats. (Again all the heating and cooling elements are in the seats though) Besides heated/vented seats the 2SS adds over the 1SS a driver side memory seat, heats mirrors with blindspot monitoring, heated steering wheel, Bose audio system, built in navi, wireless charging, for 19+ a rearview mirror camera, ambient lighting, I think an optional sunroof, soft touch leather panels on the doors and knee braces, and maybe 1 or 2 other niceities I might have missed. There are people who wire up the Recaros in a 1SS to utilize the heated/vented hardware built into them though. Pretty sure the Recaros offered in the Mustangs aren't built for heating/cooling like they are in the Camaros.
      EDIT: Also 2SS gives you dual zone climate control, where 1SS is just a single zone (or whatever you call having only one climate control setting for the whole car) climate control. Surprised I missed that.

      @@JROC734 i wonder what the weight difference is between 1SS 1LE and 2SS 1LE?

    • @JROC734
      @JROC734 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Tusuperbis It's actually shockingly small. It's was talked about on Camaro6.com, but I got premabanned from there. I think the difference was only like 7.5 or 8 lbs between the two. Like I said even though the 1SS doesn't have heated/vented seats, they still have all the hardware built in them to do it which makes the Recaros pretty heavy regardless of whether they're in a 1SS or 2SS.
      One thing weird (and I think I remember this correctly) about a 1SS vs a 1SS 1LE is even the base sound system in the 1SS has an external amp, but the 1SS 1LE doesn't have an external amp, but you'd think they would be identical both being 1SS's. At the same time a 2SS gets the Bose system which uses an external amp, and it's the same system in a 2SS and 2SS 1LE. Again I'm banned from the GEN6 forum, but if you wish to investigate whether this is correct or not, it's talked about on there. I'm pretty sure that's correct though.

    Having driven a 2012 camaro hard- the massive A pillars obstruct visibility and make the corners of the car hard to place also wearing a helmet in the camaro requires some unique seat positioning. Who wins better cockpit visibility/head room camaro or gt350?

    So the gt350 is 528hp and the camaro is 455hp..why not bump the camaro up to 528hp and then compare.. the camaro with 70ish more hp would be a beast! The mustang would not stand a chance because the torque from the camaro would be around or over 500ftlbs and it would be a monster!!

      Stock-ish to Stock-ish was the goal here

    • @cnewell1971
      @cnewell1971 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I understand that but comparing two cars with one having a 70hp advantage is really not fair..the 1le definately handles better than the mustang but the mustang will make it up on the straights due to the higher hp making it look like it does just as good as the 1le, where if the 1le had nearly the same hp it wouldnt be close at all! Compare a top of line gt against the 1le then look at the results..

      I bought my 2020 1SS 1LE new. I had just driven a new 2020 mustang gt pp2 and the day before drove a friend's 2016 mustang gt350 Shelby. I loved both of the mustangs. When I first got into the camaro I thought damn, its definitely different. Within 10 minutes of driving it, I was in love and after 1yr 3mos and 2700 miles, im still in love with it. It sits in the garage too much because of my work schedule but, I get it out on days off when its nice. An SS1LE vs a GT PP2, Its direct competition, camaro any day of the week.
