Charlie Sheen's voice-over on the boat (a Platoon reference) being interrupted by Martin Sheen's voice-over (Apocalypse Now) into a 👈👉"I loved you in Wall Street!" joke is so funny to me. It's a fantastic casting gag.

As the story goes, when Richard Crenna was approached about playing a parody of his Rambo Colonel Troutman character he was concerned that it might be offensive to the original's idea. He called Stallone about it and Sly told him to just do it, it's work, it's money, have fun with it.
Honestly it is perfect. No one could play the part better and it lends that extra bit of authenticity to the parody that could never hurt.
Also, for those who might not know history, Crenna's character is named Denton Walters, a play on Walter Denton a character he played in his early days on radio and the scene on the TV propaganda video was a play on Jeremiah Denton, a Vietnam POW who was recorded and sent to the media and allies, whom analysts initially thought was suffering some vitamin deficiencies because of his incessant blinking during the recording. One person noticed that he was in fact blinking his eyes in Morse Code, spelling out the word "TORTURE", which was an early indicator that the NVA was not abiding by the Geneva Convention it their treatment of prisoners.
a well done set of jokes.

This was a funny movie. It helps if you have seen Rambo. They got Richard Crenna who was the actual Col. in Rambo, that was a nice touch. I had forgotten Charlie Sheen actually got into shape for it. Quotes: "I loved you in Wallstreet" "War ... it's fantastic" "It looks like the upper hand is on the other foot" This movie also takes on new meaning with President Biden confusing his sister and his wife. The throwing up part actually happened with Pres. Bush Senior, 41. Brenda Bakke was so hot and I just couldn't place where I'd seen her before ... it was Under Seige 2. 1995

Making a film with just the right amount of silly is tricky. ZAZ, Monty Python and Mel Brooks are the 3 of the most notable minds to do this. There are of course other films that are a nice blend of genres. The Lethal Weapon Series was a perfect blend of drama and humour. It did get a spoof, though it didn't necessarily need one. Tremors was a good balance of humour and horror. There are of course other films. In recent times, the kungfu panda series is a well loved group of films everywhere. It would be interesting to find at least 1 person who disliked or even hated the series.

Am I the only one who thinks that President Benson foreshadowed Biden? Many similarities between them! 😆😆😆

Everyone would recommend Two and Half Men if you wanted a Charlie Sheen sitcom, but I would actually highly highly recommend Spin City.

Before you watch the similar comedy spoof "Loaded Weapon 1" (1993) you will need to watch "Lethal Weapon" 1, 2, & 3; the thriller "Basic Instinct" (1991) and the Eddie Murphy buddy-cop action comedy "48 Hrs." (1982)

I used to have this neighbor who knew every joke in The Book, and we would always provide each other's punchlines.
Anyway, in case someone hadn't heard the punchline to Ramada's last joke:
A rabbi, a priest, and a minister walk into a bar, and the bartender says, "What is this, some kind of joke?!"

Since you guys like this short of Comedy, you should try "Top Secret" with a very young Val Kilmer.

Comedy like this is rare these days, but if you like this type of comedy, check out Angie Tribeka staring Rasheda Jones. It’s like the hotshots movies, Airplane, Naked Gun, national Lampoons Loaded Weapon 1. It’s directed by Steve Carell. While I’m talking about him, check out the Get Smart movie he did, it’s based on the tv show which is legendary in the humor element.

16:40 This is additionally funny because originally beauty marks were removable, often made of leather or silk. The location on a woman's face could signify social status but in many cases they were just used to hide scars from syphilis.

Great Lloyd Bridges, Jeff and Beau's father was an awesome actor during his time. Like Lesile Nielson, Lloyd started out in serious roles before branching out into comedy roles in his long career from 1936 to 1995 with a few after his death in 1998 at the age of 85.

I think you didn't get the references to Charlie's father, Martin Sheen

19:51 Hot Shots! Part Deux is a great movie. One of the funniest movies ever made. A retired elite commando is sent into Iraq by the CIA and the incompetent and senile American President to rescue captive soldiers.

That scene where Lloyd Bridges is scuba diving is a spoof of when he used to star in a show called 'Sea Hunt' That was the same music and even style of filming from the old TV show where he would narrate what was happening while he was doing the underwater missions.
