+Lachlan Still MrIWont4Get is, honestly, a very average player. He was what introduced me to Dark Souls PvP with his Bloodborne videos, but comparing him to people like Jund and Skorbrand you can definitely tell
One tip I'd add in for the BKGA's move set is that your rolling attacks, even if they don't do damage, still stagger opponents with lower poise and can cancel their attack (If they don't have hyper armor), which, depending on skill level, can really confuse players.

Right now as it stands, spears are probably one of the least used weapon classes ive seen online, aside from daggers (I think ive only seen 1 dagger use in my 100 or so hours of playing) and I am a big fan of spears and still try and use them. Ive gotten some roll-catching strategies and some combos, im pretty good but im not fantastic at just core pvp mechanics and Time Warner Cable also ruins my day sometimes with its trash, but hey, id like to see what you think of advanced spear tactics. I currently use the Lauthric Spear.

Actually you can get it in the catacombs at an earlier stage in the game cause I got one. There's a bonfire nearby and an illusionary wall and the black knights in there with the axe
Really hoping to be able to use this weapon soon. I've farmed for a couple of hours in Smouldering Lake, but didn't get anything. I got sick of it and went after the Gold Serpent Ring and the Hollow Ember first. We'll see if I can get it to drop tomorrow...
Damn nice man, i'm playing a full bk cosplay with either the ugs or the ga, and these are amazing weapons when you know what you are doing, really nothing feeling better than catching someone with the 2h l2 and launching them into the air ! So Scott, what's your opinion of the Drang Hammers? I've been running my first playthrough so far (i'm slow at progression) with the Drang Hammers as my main since I found them. I've killed players at full health on maybe three seperate occasions, though this is in the 50-60 level range at the time. It was mostly handling invaders while as a phantom, so it's viability is questionable. While dual weilded, I would L1 twice, then go for the weapon art (spin bash) + heavy hit and it's so far full health killed every player I've caught with it. The spin bash catches the opponent out of their roll from when you hit them with the L1s, and leads into the heavy bash. This has worked against a player that instead tried to challenge it with an attack as well, though in that case it was an R2 with a great hammer so that's questionable. Also, when's Gipetto.
+Darugo Sueño Really slow, but they hit like a bus, definitely. You probably won't be killing super good players with them, but they're fun invasion weapons
My favorite weapon. I love 3 shotting people. You can get it earlier in the game, by the Old King's Antechamber bonfire (Catacombs of Carthus stage) there is a single black knight behind an illusionary wall wielding this thing. You can easily farm by killing him and walking to bonfire to reset. Took me about ~30-45 minutes with about 207 item find.
+EXTREEEEEEEEEME Nah its still fantastic, i have a 695 AR with it, most people i hit like 500-600's on, with the warcry R2 you can do it once, and R2 out of it again for a charging style attack, and with just the very last hit of that combo alone i hit on average a 900, on one dude last night with 1 single hit of that combo, hit an 1110. And if i get a riposte with hornets ring, just forget it. Lowest i've hit with that is 1300, and most i've seen was a 1600, most people just die, so i don't know the full potential lol
+abetank They are waaay too easy to parry, if by longswords you mean straight swords. The exceptions are thrust swords like the estoc or rapiers those are nuts. that said some straight swords are not balanced, like the dark sword has basically the ar of a greatsword, but against good players you are going to get punished: easy to parry.

I can parry the jump attack from the Black Knight. Is it a different attack when a person is using it, or is it just something that can only be done PVE? Haven't really fought too many people using it, so haven't been able to try myself.
base stats needed is.... I think 20+ str and 18 dex. it has c str scaling and d dex. I believe my stats are 45 str, and 25 dex, and with it plus 5, it's damage rating is 655. oh, and the warcry gives a flat 30 damage increase.
I've actually heard that you can "setup parry" some weapons with the caestus by spamming L2 after the first hit, but I haven't had a chance to test it.
sudo rm -kb You mean by getting an incomplete parry the first hit and parry the second? Sounds dangerous. Because if you get hit by the first you are going to get stunlpcked at list for a second one 100%
Tank the first hit straight to the face, realize you fucked up, spam L2 and magically parry their supposedly guaranteed combo. I've seen in work, but I don't know if it actually works reliably or if it's just luck.
I do, there really is no point to not doing it. You might miss a hit or two but punishing rolls is something you really need to learn in DkS 3 if you want to get better.

I have noticed you are using the ceastus left handed for parrying, is it better than a parry shield or do you do it to avoid people noticing it?

Hitbox on this is huge. Every invader I've come across using this has landed hits even though I'm just outside weapon range.

if you're not using the bkga, you use the bkglaive to mix it up? grab a Dex weapon and feel out pain.

parries can be impresive if you predict a skilled player, but setup parries and baits are not so much

parries have always been like that, ds3 is definitely the hardest to land parries in out of ds1 and 2
