Wonderful interview. I normally find Tim a bit too strong on the minute details and long strings of numbers and initials. This is one of the best interviews I've seen, well structured, great natural flow from watch to watch. Well done and thank you
Sumei, you have impeccable taste! I love just about every watch discussed and a few of these are my grail watches: Laurent Ferrier, FPJ Octo. Thanks also for the tip on Barton straps: love the Omega strap. Like you I live in Singapore and wearing leather straps is simply impractical on an everyday basis. Will be ordering some silicone alternatives. Thanks Tim and Sumei for a great collector video: best yet!
Hi Chris, thank you. I totally love the Barton straps - so practical and easy to remove and put on due to the quick release tabs. Plus the ability to mix and match. @@sumei2668 Hi and thanks for the comment. I have several of their straps and love them. Thank you for sharing your collection with us! Very nice collection! Her taste reminds me of my own especially when the Drive De Cartier was pulled out. Didn't want to quite go so deep with the Gallet Square but my Radiomir has a very similar case design and was looking at the Square as a trade-up. Enjoy your collection Ms. Shum.
this way of filming watches to me gives the closest sensation to seeing those timepieces in person. Raw, zoomed in from a far but with perspective and bright lights, you see the flaws and you see the qualities. I don't like trendy moody macro shots with artifical low lights just shoving the watch in front of a lens.

Outstanding. In recent years I've gotten into independents in a big way and I've made a collector out of my wife. Can't wait to show this to her!
Thank you Jon. I hope she enjoys watches as much as you do. I love independents as well! They really push the envelope and can be creative, and social media and watch blogs really help give them more visibility. I would not have come across as many watches as I have if not for Watchbox showcasing them. I get that it's their business to do so but if not for them and other watch media enthusiasts, we would all be for the poorer in watch knowledge.
I have heard the voice on countless videos, but now I finally see a face to go with it! Great video, hope all there are safe. Take care everyone.
What a lovely interview and very impressive and thoughtful collector. I have to say though, Tim is a bit more charming with this guest than he usual is.
Love this woman’s collection! Wow! So inspiring and individualized. You can tell she’s really having fun with her watches. She’s amazing. Please have more women on the show. It challenges me to improve my own collecting.
Hi BlackWomanGamer - as Tim mentions in the video, our audience is 95+% men, so it is GREAT to see comments from women viewers. We are certainly looking to add more female voices to the channel and we appreciate your support of our content!
WatchBox Studios thank you for your reply! I’ve shown the video to another woman collector as well. We are out here!
So good to see amazing women into this hobby that’s mainly surrounded by men, wonderful collection and nice taste, Bravo!
Yes gives a different perspective and a different eye.
Thanks onlyWatches. I think there are more women out there who enjoy collecting watches but our voices have been unheard until now :) Thanks to Watchbox and Tim for giving us this opportunity.
What a refreshing collection, one to view again and again. Congratulations.
Literally my favorite watch video on TH-cam
Watching it again, great interview. Learnt a lot from people s collection.
Amazing conversation! Loved this collection, I also own a vintage Gallet chronograph
Thanks Emily! With over 90% of our YT audience being male, it’s always great to hear from a female viewer and collector!
Hi Emily, fellow female collector. Thank you. I love the Gallet - a classic chrono!
@@sumei2668 Thank you for replying Sumei! Was really great to see women collectors being represented :)
@@emilyn6725 HI Emily, I hope Watchbox will continue inviting more women collectors as I'm sure there are many of us out there with interesting watches.
One of the best interview I witness today. Kudos Tim.
😍 I don’t mind being a watch-crazy woman in a man-dominated hobby but it was sooo nice seeing the collection of a high end female collector. Thank you! 👍❤️
I agree!
I'm late to the party, but I really loved this conversation between Sumei and Tim. Her watch collection really tells you something about her, and that she buys was she likes, not what appreciates necessarily. The way she personalised her watches with custom straps and the honest way she talked was really nice. Great chemistry between her and Tim also; makes for a fun conversation.
Wonderful interview. I normally find Tim a bit too strong on the minute details and long strings of numbers and initials. This is one of the best interviews I've seen, well structured, great natural flow from watch to watch. Well done and thank you
I adore the details.
I tried NATO straps but they were much too long and looked "lumpy" on my wrist. And Tim made it easy for us to have a fun and interesting conversation.
I’m not sure if Tim is more in awe with the lady or the watches. He must green with envy.
@@the1916companywatchreviews amen!
love it! my favorite collection to date! she has wonderful taste!!! admire the collection!
Thank you for sharing this interview. She has a beautiful collection.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a better, more well rounded collection.
Superb!! She is so honest and passionate.. keep going Tim.
It’s a great quartz fp journe... I’m so sad of selling it... love the video.. it’s a very inspiring knowing the idea of a woman’s point of view... thank you ma’am
Love her collection-very independent approach. Nice call-out to Barton Watch Bands. They’re about to see a bunch of sales, I think!
Thank you. I love Barton straps - and since they are quite affordable (plus did I mention they include an additional short strap with the elite silicon), I can mix and match the straps.
@@sumei2668 Hi and thanks for the comment. I have several of their straps and love them. Thank you for sharing your collection with us! So often we just see other collectors just buying whatever expensive or "rare" watch they can get their hands on, without reflecting on why they are getting a particular watch. Your approach--or even lack of one--is very sincere and methodical.
PS: Singapore is great, I really enjoyed spending some time--albeit short--there.
@@DarthMalaks_Missing_Lower_Jaw Hi Ollie, glad you enjoyed spending time in Singapore. You're right - I don't have any particular approach to my collection. I started with blue dials but it got kind of constraining and made me even more interested in other colours so I eventually abandoned that approach. LOL!
@@sumei2668 please please please come back! Haha, beautiful collection and thoughts of why and stories of how. Loved the interview! 🤓
@@sumei2668 yes, I find it fascinating how things change in what we like and what we eventually collect. I am still in the very beginning of collecting with limited funds, and haven’t found any theme or rhyme or reason, still finding my way. I had to look up what kuda was too when you mentioned it. 🙃 🤣
Excellent conversation. Educational and entertaining.
Fantastic collection and conversation ,great to see Barton silicone straps getting the credit they deserve .I love em
This is high quality content. Kudos to you both.
Great Show Tim and Incredible Watches
Tim is indeed the best!
Wonderful interview of a lovely collector. Enjoyed hearing about her passion and taste in watches. Wonder if she has a Rolex and or model and size of watch. Keep the great interviews and collectors shows coming. Thank you Tim stay healthy safe and warm
Wonderful collection, masterful interview technique. Thank you for this content!
Thanks mikeadavis45. Tim's a great "interviewer".
That is a fantastic interview. You are doing these the right way.
Enjoyable conversation and a superb collection.
Thanks Fenil. Tim made it easy for me to talk about the watches.
What a lovely lady with a beautiful collection..Great Interview Tim...
Thanks Steve. Tim did all the heavy lifting :)
Ms Shum has great taste in watches. Bravo!
I ve watch several time. Great collection
Fantastic Sumei and Tim !
Thanks Shash - my good friend and fellow watch enthusiast! It's great to have someone to talk watches with - until our friends collectively roll their eyes :)
Wow the vc historique 1942 is just stunning.....
Awesome to see such an interesting collection! My family is from Ipoh so really enjoyed the perspective.
Hi Chris, I am originally from Penang so not far from Ipoh.
Those Barton silicone straps are very comfortable! Great value!
Yes, totally agree.
Really good stuff in this episode. Thank you, Sumei!
Thanks Joseph.
I own a Sinn 104 Green. Great watch....the dial changes so much. Black to glitter green with a turn of the wrist
What a great interview. Bravo!
