- Christian joined Tim in our New York office to discuss his collecting habits, the watches in his collection, advice for fellow enthusiasts, and much more in this episode of Collector Conversation. Christian’s always been drawn to watches as he walks us through his journey from a Rado and Baume & Mercier to the likes of Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet. He also dives deep into his love for Ulysse Nardin and what he thinks is next for his collection.

What a fantastic episode.
Christian has such a great collecting philosophy and this was an incredibly engaging conversation.
Thank you both Christian and Tim.
Thank you Rob!
Best,
Tim
I’ve learned so much more about watches in these 45 minutes than in the last 8 years! I have such a better appreciation for your appreciation now. Truly an excellent interview.
Cool episode so refreshing to see a collector who wears his watches and doesn't keep them locked away 👍
Agree. Loved see the light scratches on the bezels.
I might be biased as a fellow Brit but one of the best collections I’ve seen. Helps he articulates well and has a similar style to myself. Thanks Christian and Tim
Met Christian during an event, such a class act and a very fine gentleman. He got a great taste in horology and very knowledgeable within the UN world. His true passion is quite evident on this interview. Thoroughly enjoyed this conversation with Tim and can’t wait for those CWs on your wrist Christian !! Cheers 🍻 mate
Great episode and great collection. A Countach with 200k miles on the clock is much cooler than one with delivery miles. It's the same with watches. Love the Garrick Tim.
Thank you! Garrick is a brand I love and back with my endorsement. The company is run by standup guys and makes superb watches.
Best,
Tim
How Tim navigates the watches through the conversation is so brilliant. Lovely conversation this one is 🔥🔥🔥
Christian, if you could somehow stick to 5 in and 1 out, I would be so proud of you😂. Amazing episode! Thank you for sharing part of your amazing collection.
It was a blast to shoot this. I felt like I was meeting an old friend, and we also took every opportunity to fly the flag for the Whatsapp group!
Best,
Tim
"Nary a mark on it."

Fantastic interview. Well done both 👏🏽
Great watch collection Christian & your enthusiasm shone through 👌🏽
Thank you! By the way, I LOVE your avatar and YT handle.
Best,
Tim
@@the1916companywatchreviews thanks Tim, that’s very kind of you 🙏🏽
good for him! i dont know him but everything about his watch aesthetic and use screams great energy
Very nice collection. Like that the pieces are personal to him. Also love to see the scratches on the bezels. Wear your watches.
Thanks for the great interview. H. Moser is a fantastic watch brand.
That shirt is something else! 😀
Great episode, from a fellow Brit 🇬🇧
Very nice talk! Tim, I met our friend Josh Srolovirz at the 1916 Hong Kong boutique a few days ago. Just loved the experience! Best, Amintas
love the Rado story. and love that Rado.
I'm also a Rado fan. You can get such value from vintage Rado, and the company's modern (i.e., 1980-present) watches offer so many gems to discover.
Best,
Tim
What an incredible episode. Huge in terms of production scale and quality. Thank you for keeping us entertained in this very specific niche.
Great conversation gentlemen. Really enjoyed it.
Awesome episode! Christian got an amazing and eclectic collection, great stories too!
Great episode and so smooth in its process. Bravo
Excellent collection ⌚😍
a collection without a Rolex , bravo bravo bravo
He may have chosen not to bring one, like he chose not to bring the Nautilus.
Great Conversation, Collection and Video ... Loved it :)
Ulysse Nardin all the way...there's the future!
Pure class.
The cw moonphase from the thumbnail caught my eye!
What a great collection
That AP royal oak is in rough shape. Terrible polishing. He has a beautiful collection though. Thank you Tim.
That was cool and Unlysse Nardine is certainly different from the mainstream.
Very nice collection!
A very enjoyable episode. nice to see a fellow Brit getting into the Independents.
Tim I love the Garrick S6 that you are wearing 👍👍💕💕💕💕🙌🙌
Excellent thought provoking conversation - earned yourself a subscribe
Great advice.. Watches that gave you Joy are best fit for you for SURE!!!!
Very well done
Great episode!
Tim, the Belstaff jacket is FIRE!
I love that jacket - thank you!
Best,
Tim
Great collection. I don’t have a large collection….but I have never sold one exactly because I have an emotional connection to all of them as well…
Great interview !
Very cool! I have the CW Trading View watch as well!
Great series, great collectors and of course the stories. Do you have room for a Timex only collector who build a mini museum in my home?
Hell Yea Christian
Agree with the preference for substantial watches. I appreciate the engineering that goes into Ultra thins, but prefer something thicker with more presence, man sized
Watches and jacket on point !
He really likes Ernest 😅
Fabulous collection…but looks like you put them in a washing machine with a bag of nails..and they still look good…🤣
Why does his expensive watches looks like he wore them to a mining operations?
Because he wore them.
Best,
Tim
He does lot of data mining ⛏️ on the side for his FX market strategic work ;)
He seems to be rough on his watches, they are very scratched up
Great interview guys! Good questions and in depth answers 🕰️
