Thank you for the lesson. I have the 600 system aluminum finish with the FCC. Trying to decide if I should just get the gas tank with built in pump. So many complaints about rhe FCC. But yours seems to be ok.
If I had to choose again I would go with the gas tank setup instead of the FCC. It might cost about $100 more but I think it is a better setup. Tanks, Inc. has all of the hardware/kit to change a Chevelle to an efi system.
So far the system is running ok. I did modify the FCC by removing the float so that a continuous flow of fuel runs through the FCC to keep it cooler. FCC temps have dropped about 20 degrees to around the 100 degree mark. There is some tweeking that could be done to the efi, but for now it is running good with no performance problems.
So I assume your battery is in the trunk cause looks like the location of the FCC is where the battery should be. I have a 70 chevelle with 454 now my problem is after I saw your video I would not be willing to cut the hood to make the Fitech I fit
Yes the battery is in the trunk. If you have a 70 Chevelle and it came with the 454 you no doubt have a hood that has about 1 to 2 inches more clearance than my stock hood. Additionally, if you are not using an Edelbrock RPM intake, but a stock or regular Edelbrock intake the carb mounting surface will give more hood clearance than my Edelbrock RPM intake that I am currently using. My clearance problem only amounted to about one half inch. Given the above variables you most likely have the hood clearance. You can experiment by going on to Fitech's website and get the height measurements of the EFI you are considering, make a model with that height and see if there is hood clearance or not.

I fully agree. I'm going to see if I can get my money back. I doubt it.
How is the Fitecj running now. Is the FCC still ok also.

How does run I have a 68 too I have A speed demon 750cfm on it now
It is running good so far. I plan on tweeking it a little bit, but for now it is doing good.
