I talked with both of you guys at Detroit Autorama. I was going to buy a carb but after talking with u both and the fuel command center setup u offer. You sold me!If I knew u were U tube celebrities I'd got an autograph.
wow, i have a 70 big block chevelle that im 90% on doing this and this video just opened my eyes to what i needed to know.......... as far as the ignition timing is concerned................ so maybe next year, ha
+Craig Loucks Is that what you did? That could be my dilemma. I don't have a vent fitting in my tank or my filler neck. I don't have a vented gas cap either. FiTech says to tap into the filler neck. Not sure how to do that but I'll figure it out. Any suggections would be appreciated.
+Craig Loucks Where did you install the commander? I have the same truck and the way the inner fender wells go all the way from front to back, does not leave much room.
No one, has mentioned anything about the fuel delivery system. If you do not use their fuel command, you must have a in-line pump with a regulator where you're able to boost the PSI to 58 pounds of pressure
can the base model be used for off-road without any issues? I am doing a 350 swap into my Jeep Comanche buggy and WILL 100% be going with this brand because of the price point is exactly within my budget. everything seems so straightforward and easy and this is my #1 concern. i cannot wait to have a V8 with this EFI kit! it seriously is like a dream come true having something this easy as an option!
I appreciate the how to videos but as others have pointed out, would be nice to see "hey, I have a stock mechanical pump, I get a fuel line from the tank, show me a simple setup to go electric pump and more important, the return which many of us don't have (my 66 Mustang is one way street..lol)
Hey man did you ever get it figured out? Cause there was some stuff I saw on summit that you just make a hole in the tank and get this bolt that acts like a rivet wrench down and you have the return with out welding just run the lines and your done
This video could've used more (any) info about fuel pump changes required from stock mechanical pump, actual wiring connection points, and also adjustment of a TV cable.
My fi tech 400 had so much trouble. With the command center. It starve fuel and shuts off when its hot... Had to get my car towed twice. Took it off back to my carb.
I must of missed some of these things in the notes.. turbo port. Slick o2 bung! Somehow.. FiTech should better explain the fuel system. If I am understanding correctly if you run a return system.. you can use it as is. If it's returnless then you have to use the command center. What pressure does the FiTech want to see? What's to much?
I put this system on my 68 charger, And their works well, the only issue I have is the screen goes blank. It goes blank in his hand when he started it. If you look closely you can see him trying to hide it. Why does the screen go blank sometimes fi tech?
Bom dia.., comprei um kit fitech na summit.Deixei guardada por uns 4 meses... Após toda instalação a tela display fica somente branca.O que pode ser???
question for the group, has anyone who has installed a FiTech unit had an issue with the ECU/ECM? what I'm wondering is with the ECU mounted in the throttle body it could get hot, most chips and electronics don't like that, a lot of chips blank out at @130F, some older cars like Pontiacs have a exhaust crossover in the intake to heat up quicker in the winter, this causes heat in the summer, a lot of heat...........that's about the only issue I see possible with this design.........thanks in advance
Hi Dickey, The system requires 58psi of pressure however you achieve it. Whether that be from an in-tank pump, a frame rail mounted pump or the FiTech fuel command center.
Any words about why the screen go hvite..?! Does it have to do with voltage drop when the starter run..? most battery drops to 9-10V when starter motor run...
Will fiteck work with my mercruser sbc 350 ram jet crate engine. It has a vertical factory throttel body with the factory injection rail system? Thanks
After reading these comments, I'm beginning to think I don't want to try this FiTech system. I've also emailed their support, and all I get are short, grammatically messed up replies that don't answer all of my questions. If FiTech really cared, they would be on here answering questions. They would support their products so that people wouldn't be here complaining. Can someone recommend another fuel injection system that is reliable and well-supported by the manufacturer?
Hi Kenny, It’s fair to assume that due to the more precise fuel control the FiTech unit will have, that it will deliver not only better throttle response but better mileage too. But, unless the two are real world tested side by side, we are just assuming!
+highdesertworkshop, You can see the instructions for the Fuel Command Center on the Summit Racing website under part # FIF-40003 www.summitracing.com/search/product-line/fittech-go-efi-fuel-command-center-sump-kits . Here is what it says about a return fuel line: The Fuel Command Center is a returnless system. On your FiTech Go EFI System throttle body there are four fuel ports. One is marked "Return." Plug that port with one of the plugs that came with the EFI kit. Select any one of the remaining three ports as your inlet port.
Summit Racing I have heard there are firmware updates for Some if the FiTech systems. I have a Mean Street that I haven’t installed yet. Where do you get the updates?
+Summit Racing Can't wait till my setup arrives, I have been waiting a month and a half from summit, they are on back order. Hopefully it ships out before the estimated date of the 31st.
+Tmaxxnc, Per FiTech instructions: Where short or open headers are utilized, install the sensor in the primary tube of the rear cylinder. Must be at least 8-inches from the exhaust port. It will not work on "zoomie" style headers.
The hidden costs are, if it doesn't work your stuck, no refund. I had two fail and got sick of spending money to try to get their junk to work. I ended up selling all the crap, and buying a Holley and it ran fine out of the box. F in fitech means something I'll let you fill in the gap. Just like they did me....
The first ECU wouldn't idle it would basically kill my motor and it wouldn't change no matter what change we did to the air-fuel mixture. II I don't find but wouldn't take a load no matter what changes we made in the ECU. We tried everything to get it to run. You could dump fuel in the top of it and it would read the change.
I'll just stick to carburetor.. I'm not against this but a car like that 69 Chevelle, should stay carb. It has a certain character. Also, the thought of having a computer controlling everything.. just nah. For that I'd get me an LS Corvette :) Just my two cents.. people don't have to agree.. that's just the way I see it.
I'm considering this system to get rid of the rich gas smell from the exhaust. It's annoying and embarrassing. I'm also expecting a much quicker throttle response and much easier starts.
Any one wanting to buy a Fitech should think long and hard about wasting your hard earned cash on this system. Months of drama and no support for Fitech. Still not running!! Junk!!!
I talked with both of you guys at Detroit Autorama. I was going to buy a carb but after talking with u both and the fuel command center setup u offer. You sold me!If I knew u were U tube celebrities I'd got an autograph.
@18:16 wow that initial start was unbelievable. Usually they crank for a bit then sputter when started and at a high idle speed.
i bet that wasn't truly the initial start
wow, i have a 70 big block chevelle that im 90% on doing this and this video just opened my eyes to what i needed to know.......... as far as the ignition timing is concerned................ so maybe next year, ha
Just installed on my 70 F100 with the fuel command center...Love it!
+Craig Loucks ,
Thank you for letting us know!
+Craig Loucks May I ask how you like the command center now that you've had it a while? I've read some horrible reviews. Did you have any issues?
I love it! Make sure you run a line from vent fitting to tank!

Would edelbrocks universal fuel pump work?
Thanks for the help. Its nice to see another person do something instead of going thru- writes directions on paper.
The 400hp system on my wishlist for July !!

+Q8 Fly,
Thank you for your purchase. Let us know how you like it!
I must of missed some of these things in the notes.. turbo port.

What pressure does the FiTech want to see? What's to much?
Thinking a 800hp system is in my near future.

Instead of using the fuel command center will edelbrocks universal fuel pump work?
Do you have to use a in the tank fuel pump or can you use a in line electric fuel pump? THANKS
Hi Dickey,
The system requires 58psi of pressure however you achieve it. Whether that be from an in-tank pump, a frame rail mounted pump or the FiTech fuel command center.
i was under the impression from their website that the 600hp goefi 4 does indeed have timing control.
Hi Sam,
Timing Control, or "spark control" as it is sometimes called, is available on the Go EFI System.
Any words about why the screen go hvite..?! Does it have to do with voltage drop when the starter run..? most battery drops to 9-10V when starter motor run...
What if later on you decide to run a turbo would you have to get it tuned up
He don't speak about intake manifold... It seems that EFI doesn't work very well on dual plane.
+nemesix67 Correction, it won't work AT ALL with a dual plane manifold.
Rod Palm I hate dual plane intakes. Big engines don't need them.
How i can connect tbi distributor and msd 6Aal with fitech ? Help me
What should I get for my 60 hp vanagon waterboxer ( I don’t care about power I just want better mpg
My display fitech are White only....What os this please?.(James from brazil)
Didn't sound like too radical of a cam to me, I guess everyone has their own idea what that means
I have one but am still building. Will the fan control, control a dual fan setup?
This depends on which kit you have. The base kit has control for a single fan. The power adder kits have output for dual fans.
Haha he got a white screen during the setup classic! He didn’t know what to do so he just hid it
does it work on a dominator 4500 flange? only thing holding me back from buying. system.
Would this support a 700-800hp n/a big block? Or would the 1200hp system be better?
I'm saving now I wanna know any hidden costs my 347 sbf is carbed and has nitrous
I would read my post. Don't get surprised by the cost or no refund. I had 3600 into mine that never did run on my car
Can I just bypass the wires for fuel pump and for fan if I have those units controlled by a switch?
+Chase Chandler,
Per Fitech instructions: The fuel pump circuit is required to be hooked up but, the fan circuit is optional.
Will fiteck work with my mercruser sbc 350 ram jet crate engine. It has a vertical factory throttel body with the factory injection rail system? Thanks
Why doesn't the new EFI system have an OBD II connection?
Will this work for LSX applications
Can i install the fitech 30003 without the fuel command?
After reading these comments, I'm beginning to think I don't want to try this FiTech system. i hear the holley sniper efi is a nice system.
@@airlite44 I think I'm going to try the MSD Atomic system. I wonder if it shares any tech with the Sniper.
Content Updating interesting, I’ve never heard of that system yet. I’ll have to check it out!
What system do you recommend I got a 1989 GMC pickup with a LS2 out of a 2005-2006 Corvette
what style TPS does this use? could I use the existing TPS to run my 4l80e or can or would I have to get the holley carb one
so I can get it running with just a inline fuel pump 4 wires and airflow sensor and o2 sensor correct?
you need a temp reading not air the air is built in and o2
Do you have to use a fuel return line to the fuel tank for this kit or can you plug it off when using a inline fuelpump?THANKS
Yes you need fuel return if you use external fuel pump. If you use the command center you have to install a vent to fuel tank. Same but different.
what does this do for fuel mileage compared to say a 770 street avenger on a HCI ls2 with a single plane intake?
Hi Kenny,
It’s fair to assume that due to the more precise fuel control the FiTech unit will have, that it will deliver not only better throttle response but better mileage too. But, unless the two are real world tested side by side, we are just assuming!
I have a mopar 340 engine with a performer rpm air gap manifold, will it work with that set up
Yes, absolutely!
how much fuel pressure does the 1200 hp kit need
Hi Bryan,
58psi
Does the fuel command center have the high pressure pump and returns in it? Want to install this system on my stock 1957 Cadillac .
+highdesertworkshop,
You can see the instructions for the Fuel Command Center on the Summit Racing website under part # FIF-40003 www.summitracing.com/search/product-line/fittech-go-efi-fuel-command-center-sump-kits . Here is what it says about a return fuel line:
The Fuel Command Center is a returnless system. On your FiTech Go EFI System throttle body there are four fuel ports. One is marked "Return." Plug that port with one of the plugs that came with the EFI kit. Select any one of the remaining three ports as your inlet port.
The new command center isn't returnless.
What about fine tuning, is there an option or requirement to fine tune for best drivability with a laptop?
Hi Erik,
Yes, there is an option to use a laptop for fine tuning if desired.
only on the power adders, the regular 4 and 6oo will not work with a laptop. fyi
Summit Racing I have heard there are firmware updates for Some if the FiTech systems. I have a Mean Street that I haven’t installed yet. Where do you get the updates?
Summit Racing a Delphi FEO114 fuel pump sufficient to operate the FiTech Mean Street?
I would love to use it in my 93 K blazer and keep my 4L60e , what's is needed to make work?
Hi Rey,
It would need to be used along with a transmission control module such as those available through TCI or MSD.
How well would this work on a dual plane intake, say edelbrock 289 performer on a 5.0 (using the correct efi setup)?
+Bryan Gray ,
This unit would no problems functioning just fine on a dual plane manifold like yours.
+Summit Racing exactly what I wanted to hear. I ordered this last night from you guys but bad news is its back ordered till 5/6/16
+Summit Racing Can't wait till my setup arrives, I have been waiting a month and a half from summit, they are on back order. Hopefully it ships out before the estimated date of the 31st.
on the O2 sensor portion what if your running open headers with dumps?
+Tmaxxnc,
Per FiTech instructions: Where short or open headers are utilized, install the sensor in the primary tube of the rear cylinder. Must be at least 8-inches from the exhaust port. It will not work on "zoomie" style headers.
ah ok thankyou
What CFM does each stage flow? I see HP rates but not CFM
+Dahamma73,
All throttle bodies offered by Fitech flow 850 CFM at wide open throttle. Injector sizing is what determines the HP rating of each unit.
Do you make a kit to run LS engines ? Harness and Pcm?
Hi Claes,
At this time, there is not a specific LS kit.
claes hermanson they are now close to releasing an ls intake throttlebody and harness! Check out their website!

Why is this system so much cheaper then the competition?
+Jason Larsen newer company, simple setup, no reason it can't be cheaper than greed.
Fitech is made in china... Edelbrock manifold is made in California and the software is designed there also..
