Hi daryl Just a question I’ve brought artwox wood deck sheets I think it’s the same sheets that you have on your Titanic 1/200 scale model trumpeter am I gonna have any trouble putting the sheet that goes on the bowel? I do not wish to be removing any plastic 🤔 I do not have the Pontos kit
My wood deck sheets were from the Pontos set. In order to use them I had to sand some areas flat. I do not know anything about the artwox set.
@@darylw792 okay thanks
Hi I've lost the bridge front part. Am looking for another one in plastic the number is B1 do you know any where I can get one
I do not know where one can get extra parts. Some of the other channels that have built this model may know.

I would like to ask you a question. What size chain do you use on the forecastle of your Rms Titanic.
I just used the chain that came with the Pontos Kit, or the Trumpeter Kit. Of hand do not remember which one.
I love magnet wire. Makes lighting up a model so much easier. Bow looks great. Looking forward to your progress, thanks for sharing.
Again Sorry for your loss Daryl. Tara and i wish you the very best. Welcome back. Can’t wait until i get home so we can watch your episode. Take care my friend.
So very sorry to hear that Darryl.
Thank you all for condolences.
Sorry to hear about your wife mate, it's good though to see you back on the horse again looking forward to more build videos. God bless
my condolences. My wife got me my model with her stimulus check, then she passed away as well. I haven't worked on my model in a year either.
I can understand how that hurts. My condolences for your loss. Maybe you can build it in her memory when you feel you can start again.
That sucks man, sorry for your loss. Hope you’re having an amazing day, and a better tomorrow. ❤❤❤
the vents are able to turn on ships, those vents are very important on Titanic or any ship, as ships are designed to keep the ocean out. this cause air in ships to become stale so engineers created those vents to catch any breeze from any angle with wind is coming.
Thank you for being there! Thank you for your video! Go on, I'm learning from you!)))))
Oh my, that skylight housing at 7:27 is a mess. Good thing my 1:400 Academy had photoetch for that part so it looked good when I glued it on top of the original clear part. For your model's skylights, I think the best solution is to remove the clear part (the ceiling) from the bulkheads and replace it with PE, a new PE set is available but I think it's not made by Pontos. "KV" is the name of the manufacturer, I think. Then you can glue clear acetate under the PE skylight roof frames. I think the skylight glass is frosted on the real ship. Peter Davies-Garner simply airbrushed clear paint on the underside of the "glass" of his Orlando model and it looks convincing. By the way, the skylight housing bulkheads should have 2 portholes facing funnel #2. There are also long narrow brown wood boards hanging on port and starboard sides of the skylight housing.
The dimples on A deck are ejection pin points

@@darylw792 YES alot of my FB members follow you, I am asking to join in
@@nascarnbroncosfans6055 Okay no problem. I am just starting up again with the model. I have not done anything since last April because my wife got sick and than died in June. So it has been a struggle to get back in the groove so to speak with the model. So hopefully I will get videos up sometime in the next month or two.
Been watch this series for ideas for my own build (1/350 scale Titanic), I never thought to use magnet wire for rigging loops as I had already bought a pack of earing eye pins instead. Great series, awesome work!!!
Hi Daryl, your a life saver .my pontos kit finally arrived and having never done any photo etch before ,the instructions are a bit unclear to say the least. But by watching your videos it starting to make sense. Many thanks 😊
Thanks for that great Video Daryl, it helps a lot ! There are so many options to light my titanic i'm thinking about. The original one is not the way i like to do. The LED's are to big for the position lights and the lights for the funnels, so i have to find another solution. Greetings from Germany
Hi Daryl. Hope things are going well.
It has been a nightmare the last 6 months. With my wife getting sick and being forced to buy the house we have been renting it has not been easy. That is why I have not been doing any videos for a while. Than June 1st my wife died from her cancer, so it has been a battle to get motivated to do much. Hopefully I will get back to finishing the Titanic model soon. Thanks for your concerns.
@@darylw792 That's absolutely terrible Daryl. I'm so sorry to hear about your wife. I've been watching your videos tonight and was just wondering why they stopped, then reading your comment, realised what an absolutely tragic series of events you've gone through. I hope you can reignite your passion for modelling after all of this, your attention to detail and thoroughness are inspirational.
@@darylw792 there are no words. I can't imagine how lost you must feel and how emotionally drained you must be. I hope you have support from family and friends. Let them carry you, let them do the heavy lifting for you while you heal. Be well.
@@christophertoole8565 Thank you for your comforting words. I am hoping to get back to the model soon.
Hi Darryl , I have been watching your videos and have really found them helpful as you are the only you tuber building this model that is using the Pontos set, as am I. I was really sorry to hear your news about your wife. I sincerely wish you well and hopefully one day you will get back to the model.
Looking good still waiting for the pontos kit to arrive so I've cone to a halt
I'm gay end I love the titanic.... I love you
Great video many thanks
Evening Daryl ordered the pontos kit by mistake instead of the ka kit.however having watching your videos I think it was the right choice.,many thanks for that and keep up the good work 👏
I usually use a strong power bank to light up my models, it's safer and won't burn your LEDs unlike plugging it straight which with time will burn your LEDs cuz of the high voltage
Woher habt ihr diese Ösen die im Deck verschraubt sind ?
Hi Daryl. Awesome job. My daughter and I are planning on lighting our model like yours as well. Looking forward to more videos.
Looking Good Champion, Great work and looking forward to the next episode
Looking good 💯
Great work...lighting looks very nice. I hope the housing situation gets sorted. Have a good day.
I have some 049 heads that are really good. And they have never been decked or modified in any way. They are 1972
hello. I love your videos, I’m building the same model. I’d like the motorized like you, can you tell me which engine is helix shafts you used? cordially jeoffrey
The couplers I used to connect the motor shaft to the propeller shaft are from amazon: Twidec/4Pcs 2mm-3mm Brass Flexible Shaft Coupler for RC Airplane Boat Motor Transmission Connector COUPLER-GLD-2-3 www.amazon.com/Twidec-Flexible-Transmission-Connector-COUPLER-GLD-2-3/dp/B07TV2261L/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=rc%2Bmotor%2Bcoupler%2B2mm%2Bto%2B3mm&qid=1589903649&sr=8-3&th=1 The motors I used I found on amazon also: Dc Motor 3V-12V 280 Micro Motor 42 x 24 mm for RC Boat Model Toys Diy (Pack of 5) www.amazon.com/Motor-3V-12V-Micro-Boat-Model/dp/B01M0XOOS5/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=rc+9v+motor&qid=1590084611&sr=8-6 The propeller shafts are just brass shafts I got from the local hobby store. I think they were 1/8", which is slightly larger than 3 mm. Thus I had to sand them down until they measured 3 mm. If one can find 3 mm shafts it would save the time it took to sand them.
@@darylw792 thks you so much !!!
Thank you Daryl, a few notes made on you're recommendations! Regards JH 😉

Super job on the anchor chain guides. Your build is the best I've seen on you tube and I'll be using a lot of your tips when I build mine. Keep up the great work!
Fantastic work 👏
Nice build 👌
Lovely video thanks 😊
Brilliant build 👏
Fantastic build, you certainly have researched every detail of this magnificent model ship keep up the good work and thanks for sharing this experience with us 🇺🇸
Thnx Daryl …. Keep up the great work and vids
Extremely nice very well done i think the blue hue is fantastic it's completely different to other modelling ships. I don't think I have the skills to build something like this so a big well done 👏
What is the voltage to run the motors? I received a kit for the Trumpeter and no instructions were included. What type of RC set should I use with this kit? Thank you
The motors I used I bought from Amazon ( www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M0XOOS5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). They came in a pack of 5. The voltage rating for these motors is 3v to 12v. The RPM range is 1500 to 13,000. When I add voltage to the motors after they were installed in the model it only took about 2v to get them turning. To control the motors on my 9v system I bought speed controllers with a reversing switch for each propeller. That way I can rotate the propellers in reverse for fun if I want to. These one can find on amazon also at : www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071H2YQG5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Using a speed controller will keep the motors from running to fast for my application. To connect the motor shaft to my propeller shafts I used 2mm to 3mm brass couplers for each motor. These can be found on amazon at: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TV2261L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 If you are going to use this model in the water than I would recommend the youtube channel TheModelBoatGuy. He is an expert at RC model boats and is building a Trumpeter Titanic for that purpose. Hope this helps
@@darylw792 thank you
Excellent video!
Nicely done Daryl, many thanks for the tips on this rather delicate issue! JH
It'll certainly help these hands thanks for offering this video
Thanks for the info and demonstration.
Thanks for taking the time to post this.
I've found that using Bare Metal Foil to mask glass like shown in the video works really well. It is thin enough that the window frame is visible. It cuts well with a sharp blade. It doesn't bleed under. Have used it for aircraft canopies for years. I've enjoyed following your progress.
I’m really wishing I took the extra time to add the lighting details that you’ve done. I have my poop deck glued down.
