Thanks for that, I'm on the brink of considering selling to upgrade to a GP300 or the new TG if I like it. I hate to sell but I only have room for one (according to my wife) 🤔
Hi, it true to say they don't come off like a Lammy because, in normal operation they don't need to. If you watch both my GP and GT removing side panels you will see why they don't just lift off. Most people hardly ever remove them.
Hi Mike, what is that chrome strip running along the side of the foot rest on the GT? Where did you get that from ? Also where did you get your mirrors for the GP ? Thanks keep the vids coming
Hi Mike, Would you know with the 125Gt and 125gp air-cooled is the only difference the styling? Are all the working parts the same such as engine, drive belts and filters etc? I can't seem to find much information on this and any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks for your comments. I would always recommend the GP as it's mostly metal which is important to me. The black/white/yellow GP125 was mine however I have sold this and bought a GP300 which is fantastic. The owner of the GT125 Jeff has also sold his and bought a GP300. @@MikeColwell Thanks for your reply Mike, and if you wouldn't mind, I may have a few more questions for you when my scooter arrives. By the way, I'm already subscribed to your channel..!
Bought my GP lookalike R A 125 S LC in 2020, its water cooled and produces 14 bhp and the performance is much greater than the air cooled GP & GT which I think is about 11 Bhp, but more expensive.
Hi Stephen, I was given mine by a club friend with a Lammy. I bought some gasket rubbers at a rally. Below is a link for eBay which may help. It's a Lambretta series 3 tunnel cover. rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F202535474864
I prefer the look of the GT and the seat on the GT, but I like the metal parts on the GP and the clock on the GP. I don't like either headlight, I would prefer a round one.
I agree with your headlight comment however the GP seat is very good, I tried a bench seat for a while but swapped back on my GP300. It's metal bodies only for me!

Royal alloy really got it right with these retro scooters.. Better looking than the vespa gts, but unfortunately I can't get a royal alloy here in Latvia so it will have to be the Vespa 300 gts 🤷♂️
Thanks for showing us the comparison between the two scooters Mike, I just love how your GP looks, it's a real head turner.

Hi. Just wondering where you got the wrap done? It looks great.
Any good local sign company should be able to wrap your Scoot to your instructions. And prices are generally reasonable.

GP every time for me.

The GP is mainly metal, whereas the GT is mainly plastic. GP is far better imo. Working parts are the same on each model.
@@MikeColwell Thank you yes I know that it's underneath the panels I'm interested in.
@grahamknight2339 there the same underneath.
@@MikeColwell Perfect, thanks for your help Mike 👍
Are the fly screens the same or due to the difference in headlight shape, are they different sizes?
They are the same however the GP300 has a slightly bigger head stock.
....there is a different wheel style too - multispoke on GP, 3 spoke on GT.....but good video.😀👍🏼

Thanks, so what is their reason for making both models? It seems a bit fussy, unless some countries won’t allow metal?
The original concept was plastic because costs were lower but RA decided there was a market for metal all be it a little more expensive.

Prices for the scooter
If you go on the Carnaby Scooters website you can see the full range plus prices:
www.carnabyscooters.com/royal-alloy.html
They are importing the GP to the US (but, unfortunately, with a carbed engine) and calling it The GT. Very confusing.
That is confusing, why would a carb be a selling point. I'll ask the CEO of RA when I next speak why that is!
